Today’s cruise compass

A pre-dinner cocktail in Sky Lounge started the evening. We are heavy drinkers🤣🤣🤣🤣 club soda and lime please🍹 Will Martin had a mini show in grand foyer before dinner tonight. We attended from behind the scene on higher deck. He’s brilliant. So nice to hear him again. It was lots of people on deck 3,4,5. Dinner was good. We had: salmon and spring roll for starter. Main: duck Dessert: lava cake and puff pastry. Everything tasted excellent. Service is good. Tonight’s duck is my favourite duck onboard. It’s very Scandinavian style. Tonight it was excellent prepared. The spring roll was so good, both me and Mr said mmmmmmmmmm after the first bite. The saus, filling and the kale salad was perfect😋😋😋 (we have eaten all items before, but it’s always a little different from sailing to sailing. Tonight they nailed it for the duck & spring roll 🤩) This week the lava cake was a actual active lava🤣🤣🤣 Tasted excellent and is my favourite for dessert together by soufflé🤩 ( remember last week? Mr had a cold lava/sleeping cake😝) After dinner, we were tired and ready for bed😴😴

After a stroll in the city Center and a local coffee, we decided it was time to tender back to the ship. We were back onboard around 15.45. We were salty and covered in sunscreen, so we picked up some iced tea in Al Bacio and Mr wanted to try today’s cake. It was a almond cake (pound cake style) Mr really liked it😋 We are ready to sail onward to Maui. Captain just announced that they have a increased number of covid cases onboard in passengers. So in the theatre and casino, you must now wear a face mask. We will not attend the show tonight. It’s production show Rock City. We went in Alaska.

So, we had a zodiac tour for snorkelling🐡🐠🐟 Tenders was a bit ruff to load this morning. The swelling was long and noticeable high. So loading was wet and waiving😝 Okey for us, but for the land crabs we shared tender by, it was a bit more worried😳😵‍💫 On the pier we were greeted and split into groups going onward in zodiacs😎 We were loaded to the cool captain😁 So full speed and close to shoreline for fun turns and viewing of the rocks😎 Great flat ocean to the snorkelling. We had lots of small Hawaiian dolphins 🐬 next to our zodiac on the way out. (They showed up on the return;) The snorkelling was good. Clear water and lots of 🐠🐡🐟🐠🐡 captains excellent. On the return we stopped by some of the caves. It’s really beautiful and the water is so clear. Great half day tour. Really a great tour. (Probably some of our fellow cruisers didn’t enjoy it to much…. They were not snorkelling and they were not prepared for zodiac….) But the tour description says very clearly zodiac/snorkelling😎 On return to the city centre….. What time is it? Ooooo Beer time😝 Kona Brewing was screaming for a guest😂😂😂🍺🍺 So we had to go there to have some refreshments😜 Mr was very happy for his tasting paddle🥰 I will load pictures from the snorkelling later. Battery is dead on my GoPro🙃

Good morning Kailua Kona🌺 We have anchored up, royal wake-up for those near the anchor😂😂😂 We could loud and clear hear it in our room on deck 10😝 Tenders are on the water and we are ready for a beautiful day😎 Breakfast was delivered on our balcony😁 Today’s plan is a snorkelling tour🐡🐠🐟🐢

Today are we invited to a helipad sail-away. Thanks to captain’s club hostess Saori🥰 for inviting and arranging this🥰 We will see if we can get a warm weather picture😌🌺😎 Tonight’s show is Will Martin. We asked, same show/songs as last cruise. So we will not attend😌 Helipad was fun, sunset and great sail-away. We decided to walk up to Sky lounge after visiting the helipad. Just taking it easy before dinner, listen to music and just relax in a sofa🥰 Again, Victoria & fellow crew in Sky is excellent🙌🏻 Tonight’s dinner was a empty zone😁 All our neighbours was eating specialty restaurants. We had for starters: tuna poke, shrimp cocktail and the mesclun greens Main: lamb kebab and sea bass, extra vegetables. Broccoli and carrots. Dessert: bananas Forster, coffee Service was good and food was good. The bananas could have been fried one more minutes. Then they would been perfect. Coffee arrived as espresso macchiato🙃 So things are good🙌🏻

Hilo, first meeting of Hawaii🌺 We left on our tour to Akafalls and Rainbow Falls. 3,5h tour/half day. Okey guide and scenic drive. Would definitely enjoyed a stop in the botanical garden we passed on the way to Aka Falls. A perfect day would been a combination of both, that means a full day. Nice waterfall’s and love the green lush trees, bamboo and tropical flowers🌿🌱🌴🌳🌺 The green forests and the waterfall reminds me of Mauritius and NZ🥰 (love both of them🥰) We asked to be dropped off in the city centre on the return. No need for taking us straight back to the ship. We walked a round in the city centre and food market. Lots of fruits and nuts. Mr had detected on untapped….. a beer brewery🍺😝 So we walked to Ola Brew, Hilo😌 Nice tasting paddle arrived on the outdoor deck and he was a happy camper🥰 After the beer stop, it was time to walk onward in direction of the ship. Love to walk and just have a look around the area. We went to the Japanese garden/coconut island on the way. Just nice to see. In reeds bay beach park we had a walk in the waters. Well, guess what? A large turtle 🐢 was swimming next to us🐢🐢🐢❤️🙌🏻 After the little dip, we decided it was time to return to the ship. So we walked back to ship 15.15. Iced tea and a lemon tart was tempting after the walk. So we stopped by Al Bacio to have a little break.

Rise & Shine We are soon in Hilo. Today’s shore excursion is a waterfall hike. We are ready and looking forward to a walk. (In NZ we toured a lot of waterfalls, so this will be exciting to compare) Coffee is picked up and breakfast is on the way❤️

Steve Caoette😂😂😂😂😅 what can I say? My stomach hurts🤣🤣 According to CD list we received, he will do a late-night comedy. We will be back😂😂😂 So after the show it was ukulele and Hawaiian dance in grand foyer. It was the guests playing and dancing after course during sea days from the Hawaiian ambassador. Dinner tonight was good. Service is okay. We had: Starters: melon & ham, spinach puff pastry. Main: gnocchi and Turkey Dessert: ice cream & crème brûlée Coffee & sambuca Starters was excellent. The Turkey was juicy and good. The gnocchi was a bit burnt from the frying pan. So the sauce was good but gnocchi a bit burned in flavour. Dessert was standard. Our coffee is improving😁👍🏻👍🏻 Today it was delivered a espresso macchiato as ordered🫶🏻 Great improving🙌🏻👏🏻 We had to stop by Al Bacio on the way back to our room. (No daily water delivered, so need to pick up some bottles during the day;) It was so empty inside. A: everyone was up on pool deck on Hawaiian night🙃 B: Everyone had gone to bed to be ready to run of the ship as soon as we dock. On return to our cabin, it was a invitation to the helipad for tomorrow’s sail- away from captain’s club. That’s nice❤️

It’s captain’s club senior officers party today. So we went up to have a drink and start the evening before we are attending the show. The senior officers were presented and off they run😝 Tonight’s show is comedian Steve Caoette. We didn’t see him in Alaska, so this will be fun😂😂😂

thank you☺️ We are not hard to please😌😅😁 the only thing I’m picky on is: 1. Fish/seafood we eat lot of fish & seafood home and I like to cook. So it needs to be good quality and presentation. Taste is very important. 2. coffee I don’t drink half & half or Starbucks😝 It needs to be good quality of the beans and correct making. 3. visual presentation My appetite is very visual. If everything is just clashed on the plate I’m not very hungry….. So visual presentation is important to me. (Probably why I hate buffets;) Don’t drown my food in heavy gravy or mix everything in a stew. 3. Vegetables I like vegetables/salads, so they need to be crispy and fresh, don’t drown them in sauce or vinaigrette. Let me decide the amount of dressing😉 if you tick of those things….. I’m very easy to please😊😅 Mdr has some pieces on the menu we really like. They are visually appealing and they are “clean” and taste very good. So we will not starve🤣🤣🤣 Blu is very pleasing for my taste and visual a pleasure for me🥰 (and they know how to make my espresso macchiato;)

Mr went to Milos talk about Sharks 🦈 of the world. I had a call on FaceTime, needed to say hallo to our fur baby’s🥹🥰 Miss Marple & Hannah Hortensia before it was to late. Remember they are 12h+ of us⏰ So I called them when they had went to bed🙃 It’s extremely fascinating to see how they react when I’m calling. They can hear my voice and they instant start purring loudly and walk around the phone making biscuits🥰🥰🥰🐈🐈‍⬛ Who said cats don’t miss their owner? That’s the worst part being away for a longer time. The fur therapy is missing❤️ Well, after a long walk. It was time to relax a bit. Sun is shining and it’s good temperature. So time to put the bikini on and have some down time on a sun bed😎 It’s nice to hear Dj Rexor down on pool deck and the vibe of good time spreading out🎶🎶🎶 and live music outside. Mr was directed into the buffet for some lunch picnic collection. It was nachos and guacamole time on deck🥑😋 Simple, but very good in the sun. Around 15.30 we decided that it was good to go down to our balcony. It is shade😎 And freshen up before we start the evening. Today’s canapés was waiting.

Rise & Shine A beautiful day to wake up to🤩 Warm and not wind on my balcony🥰🥰 That means balcony breakfast😎🤩🥳 Finally🥳🥳🥳🥳 Coffee collected at Al Bacio and again a cheerful start of the day from the crew there🥰 Breakfast delivered and it’s was time, breakfast on the balcony😎 Love this🥰 Nice and warm walking on the open decks 14-16. Water was waiting now on halfway thru the walking in Sunset😅😎 Just got to love the crew🥰 (can’t say I haven’t a ritual;)

Thank you💚 Glad to hear that you enjoyed Milli😍 We are big fans of Millennium class ships😉 -as the good Norwegian I am, ice cream is good😋😋😋 (even if it’s -20c outside😂) - we are getting off in Oahu, Honolulu. Would have been great to sail down under🤩🤩🤩 But time off is lacking. BUT we are flying to Kauai😎 So we will have some adventures in Hawaii before we return home😁🇳🇴 So there’s still more to come🙃

Tomorrow’s cruise compass

CD Sue delivered a list of the entertainment onboard this cruise on evening 2 to all b2b staterooms. Already the next day it was changed according to the letter. Mismatch in cruise compass😜 Tonight’s show is magician James Cielen. Mr went down to guest relations and asked if he will do the same show. When it’s production shows, you know it’s identical. But since we have the same guest entertainment onboard as in Alaska. It would be nice if they could put in a note if they do same show/set list or if they change. Guest relations confirmed that tonight’s show will be identical to Alaska. So no show tonight😝 We went up to Sky Lounge around 18.15. Plenty of space for a pre-dinner drink. Tonight we had decided for dinner in mdr. So, as I said in the post from first night in mdr. We are seated in a line of 2x 4 tables in the expressway to the galley. In our area/zone. The tables by the window/more private tables are empty. Why put all off us on the expressway from the galley??? According to our neighbours it’s been all empty since first night. One of the couple has been moved to one of the windows tables. Well, well…. I don’t understand why put people in a walkway when you can put them 2m away🥸 Well, back to the dinner. Tonight’s menu is a day we prefer. We had: Starter: beef carpaccio, apple pear salad Main: ricotta pasta (starter menu) and short ribs Dessert: ice cream and sticky toffee pudding. Coffee and sambuca. Food was good. Nothing wrong or lack of taste. Tonight’s menu is a good day. It’s just unnecessary to seat us all on the highway when they could seated us a bit more private/not in a runway 2-3m away. Service is good from head waiter. Assistant is under training/work in progress…. Tried my espresso macchiato again. Dishwasher water at best😝 Please take a course from waiters in Blu, Made, Vin, Zeine, Sky Longe Victoria or ask Christian in Al bacio how to make it🤪

Today’s canapés

Mr went to Milos lecture at 10.00 in the theatre. So his not a deck walker😅 Today’s subject was energy. After a good walk (if you ask the smoke club on Sunset bar, they can probably give you number of laps), they were hosting bocce on the lawn. It was a good sign up today😎 officers vs guests. I went downstairs to change to lighter clothes and take a little rest on the sun bed. We found a empty area and rigged us up😎 Overlooking the pool and follow the fun from distance😅 Today they hosted a Hula Hula class on pool deck💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 and Dj Rexor was poolside. Great to have a “normal” day at sea🥰 You know the ship is out of “training” of warmer climate and entertainment outdoor🤣🤣 They haven’t put on wind hair on the 🎤 mic😜 So it’s windy voice😜 Hopefully technical department remember we’re they put the microphone hair🙃 We skipped concierge party today. Felt no need to leave my sun bed, dress up and drink champagne. Just relax and enjoy the temperature😎 We did spa cafe lunch on the sun beds🙃 We had same as yesterday, sandwich and caprese salad😊Easy and tasty😊

Rise & Shine I was early awake today and the WiFi is not very good in our location. (Mr was having his beauty sleep😴) So I took a tour down to Al Bacio. Had my morning cappuccino and browsed thru work email and downloaded the newspaper. ( all empty on sushi on 5 side😊, so okey to sit down) Picked up coffee for Mr and headed back upstairs for wake-up delivery🥰 Breakfast was delivered and today warm temperatures outside, but to windy for balcony breakfast😝🤪🥸 Well, well…. We just have to eat indoors then😅 Today’s walking tour started 08.30. It’s 24c but wind from front. So a good ac in the stairs😂 wind jacket is genius😎 There was a drizzle arriving around 09.05 so it was best to stop for a rain shower in sunset bar for a few mins. There’s dry area’s🙃☔️ Then it’s back to walking😎😉
