Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. On our recent cruise on Iona we rarely saw anyone washing hands entering the Horizon. We stood and watched as we washed our hands and when it was busy, especially at breakfast hardly anyone stopped to wash. Personally I would love to see staff at the entrances telling people they cannot enter without washing hands first.
  2. We have to remember this is the P&O Cruise CRITIC blog, not the cruise praise blog!
  3. Covid protocol is already in evidence. Our recent (ended Sunday) cruise on Britannia is a good example. The Captain announced that due to an increase in covid mak wearing was compulsory. The day after we had a letter from the Medical officer stating the same thing. The day after that we had a letter from the Chief Medical Officer for Carnival saying exactly the same thing. Covid is becoming rife again and will affect cruising sooner than later.
  4. In general the first couple of days yes they were but as usual time goes by and a few are now not wearing them. On our only on-shore visit on a shuttle bus a passenger stood up and told everyone to wear a mask and a number of people immediately put them on. In the Atrium you do not have to wear them whilst drinking but a good number of people were sat around talkin with no masks on but they were not drinking.
  5. Both on board captains, medical staff and, judging by the letter we have, even Carnival senior medical people are aware of the fact. I repeat, think P&O are openly lying.
  6. If P&O say they know nothing of mask wearing then they are openly lying. We have had the captain announcing masks must be worn at all times followed by a letter from the medical officer at Carnival telling us we must wear them. Typical Lying P & O.
  7. So why are they not being isolated then? As you have pointed out, there is no difference!
  8. I believe with respect that you have missed one important point. WE know it is far from over but P&O have cancelled fcc because THEY say it is no longer a pandemic. If it is now classed as something we have to live with then why are P&O still isolating people. They don’t do it for flu etc and yet they are treating it the same.
  9. Believe me, it won’t be a bit of a cough If you only have mild symptoms then you will still be passing it on It could kill somebody.
  10. I was not wishing I’ll on other members of the forum. I said that whoever came on our coach or came on board with covid then that is whom I am wishing they suffer as we have done.It has cost us £3000 plus and a ruined 55th Anniversary cruise.. Even on the shuttle in to Copenhagen this morning some were not wearing masks and some definately had covid. There are some very selfish people around.
  11. It does not matter mild or not. If you get it on a cruise you are shut in your cabin for at least 6 days before they will even test you. From our current experience of a totally ruined holiday we will not be cruising again in the foreseeable future.
  12. I don’t think it was just a complaint to be honest. Just around the ship it was obvious there were a lot of cases . It was just that now they have opened their ears instead of ignoring it.
  13. That was the latest news. Earlier the Captain made the announcement. I am aware the new rule came in after we complained to the Dr that many people were walking around with the same cough I had. There wer even two people in the shop stood next to us who could not talk for coughing. Whilst P&O will never admit to any numbers I guess they are significant..
  14. Hopefully they may decide to re-introduce fcc as there are going to be a large number of unhappy people on their ships!
  15. Latest is a circular from the Director of Health services, Carnival U K. To say masks must be worn at all times due to large numbers of new cases.
