  1. Does NCL accommodate lounge chairs on balconies (besides afts and suites)? If so, will Breakaway angled balconies accommodate one lounge chair?

What about B6 balconies on deck 9 (which are partially exposed)? Anyone have luck getting a lounge chair on either of those balconies?

Princess went through a spell where they weren't allowing chaise lounge chairs on balconies (even those that were big enough to hold them), but I've never had a problem getting one placed on RCCL even though that angled balcony was tight with one chaise lounger.

PS: The MX forward on Deck 8 looks like it will comfortably hold chaise lounge chairs but I haven't seen any photos of lounge chairs on those cabins which is why I'm curious if NCL would allow.

    Thank you in advance :)

  2. "H" actually made it a point to let me know I would not be able to book with anyone else because he has been assigned my case. He's called here every day since I signed up (sometimes twice a day) and left lengthy messages. I was thinking of booking direct with NCL, but not unless i can switch PCC and I'm not going to bother if it means a headache trying to track down his supervisor.

  3. Are there any 'suites' on the breakaway? I'm looking at cabin categories and they all indicate 'mini-suite' with the exception of the very top category "haven". What am I missing?

I've read that the mini-suites come with zero perks other than a larger bathroom, but $300.00 would be an incentive if it can be applied toward a 'mini-suite".

    TIA :)

  4. I haven't yet booked. While I am a latitudes member, I just signed onto the website. I was randomly assigned a PCC, we'll call him "H". For a variety of reasons, I don't believe H is a good PCC for me. He seems very new, provided information I know is incorrect, and spoke to me in circles (This will be my 19th cruise, so I'm not exactly new to the rodeo).

How do I go about getting assigned a new PCC? Is there a supervisor line to call and request a PCC with more experience? Does anyone have a PCC they feel is terrific I can ask for? I don't want to get "H" in trouble, but I know he's not a good fit for me.

    TIA :)

  5. Call Dial 7 or Camel, don't use the web as the web wants a time on Carmel, you have to put one.

Am I understanding you correct in that I don't need to dial7 or camel until we're sailing up the hudson river the morning of disembarkation? Or do you mean call dial7/camel right now to arrange for transfers and then call them to confirm time when the ship gets in port?

    TIA :)

  6. Thanks everyone for such thoughtful and helpful responses. We're in town for 3 nights pre-cruise which is why I thought the 72 hour pass would be a good option. It also does a night tour (included) and a route through brooklyn.

Where are you staying? It may make more sense to do the HOHO for a day for orientation, and do the sites on your own. Just a thought.

We are staying in Gramercy park. I figured the bus could take us to the sites, sort of like a taxi. I'm not familiar with distances in Manhattan. How long should it take us to walk from Gramercy Park/Union square to let's say central park?

    Thanks again!

  7. Is there a preferred company for hop-on/hop-off bus service in New York City?

Right now New York Tours is offering "all loop" 72 hours for the price of 48 (roughly 60.00 pp).

Is is worth it to upgrade to VIP to avoid bus lines? I ran into a problem with full buses in Barcelona. Not sure how busy these buses are in NY. We will be in town Thursday August 14- Sunday August 17.

For an additional $60.00 pp we can choose 3 of the following tours. Which would you select? I'm leaning toward any of the options I have bolded below. Any 'don't miss" attractions?? Would it be worth it to purchase one of the dining options? If so, which one?

Here are the choices from the tour company: "You may choose a total of 3 of the following cruises, attractions, dining, museums and fun items options while in New York City:"

  8. Thank you SO much for the replies.

Our flights out are at 12:40. I normally like to book after 1:00 but this was the only flight until 5:00 p.m. so I'm going to chance it. I feel pretty comfortable especially since we are going to do private transfers (taxi or car). Leaning toward car so I'll be sure to check out camel and dial7 without pick up times.

    Thanks again :)

  9. Hi Starry, sorry for butting in your post but how did you find out the Hampton inn also has port shuttle service? Their web page only says airport shuttle and local shuttle.

I am also looking for a hotel in Baltimore with complimentary airport and shuttle service. I"d love it if the hotel was close to the light rail too for visiting inner harbor. Is there a sight that shows which hotels offer both airport and port shuttle service?

    TIA :)

  10. We will be arriving in Baltimore a day early and need transportation to cruise terminal. We would also like to check out inner harbor pre-cruise. I 'think" I understand my options, but I have some questions. Which option would you choose? Why?

Option A Cheapest: Get hotel at airport that has cruise transportation. Use light rail to inner harbor pre-cruise (leaving lugggage at hotel). We're from Detroit Metro area, so we are aware of need to be cautious at night. How safe would the light rail be to get back to the hotel after midnight?

Option B More expensive and harder with luggage: Take light rail WITH luggage to inner harbor hotel. The hotel will be more $, but It would be nice to stay downtown near the action. I'm not sure if light rail allows luggage (their web page doesn't say)? Either choose an inner harbor hotel with pier transfers (not sure it those exist, if they do recommendations?) or grab a taxi in the morning from inner harbor to pier (how much would that be?)

Thanks in advance for the help!
