Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I also see, that right now on certain cruises they are offering $1000 to $2000 off per stateroom for Fall 2025 sailings on the Rhine River.
  2. We are sailing with AMA the end of April and our final documents have us staying at the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky. We received our documents about 2 weeks ago.
  3. We disembarked there in July, no customs involved and booked the ship transfer to Heathrow. Got off the ship at about 8am, retrieve our luggage, hopped on their bus and off to the airport. It was very organized and by 9:30 we were at Heathrow.
  4. For our recently booked Iceland cruise July 2025, my wife and I each received an air credit of $3800. That’s a total of $7600 which we were extremely happy with. Looking at airfare prices for July 2024 (2025 not available yet) on Icelandair, Saga Premium seats, NY to Reykjavik round trip is running about $2400 per person.
  5. Booked our first Regent cruise the other day. With the free included excursions about how many people will you have on the excursion? What is the maximum number of people allowed? If you pay for an excursion will you have fewer people?
  6. Can room service dinner be ordered from Manfredi’s or The Restaurant’s menus or is it only from the regular room service menu?
  7. Next year, we will do doing our first ocean cruise on Viking. After seeing the new menu at Manfredi’s we are not thrilled with it. Does The Restaurant offer many tables for 2? I understand reservations are not available. This being said, are tables for 2 hard to get? In addition, can you order room service for dinner from The Restaurant menu?
  8. Yes, we did the exact cruise on Riviera last month. We opted for the small group tour, 10 1/2 hrs from Le Havre to D-Day beaches. There were 13 of us with an excellent, knowledgeable tour guide. It was the highlight of our cruise. My husband is into WWII, especially since his father was with Patton’s army. It’s about a 90 minute coach ride from the port to the beaches. We left the port at 8:30am, on the way stopped at a theatre to see a D-Day landing video, next stop was the American Cemetery (touring with the guide and then on our own), lunched (included) at a seaside restaurant, and then to the beaches with our tour guide for a few hours. Returned to the ship around 6:30-7pm. Long day - needless to say, it was room service for dinner.
  9. Can the shipboard credit option with the OLife package be used towards gratuities?
  10. Thanks. I will check out the excursions and pre-select them.
  11. Doing our first AMA river cruise next year. Are all excursions booked when on board or are they available to book prior to cruising? Thanks.
