Did a quick weekend cruise w extended family and friends (total of 17 people). Here are my observations:
With 1 exception (young lady taking orders at Fish and Ships), staff was very friendly and wanting to provide good service.
Once per day housekeeping-would prefer twice per day, but didn’t impact our experience significantly.
Main Dining Room-prefer the old menus, but we’re not picky eaters, so always able to find something to enjoy. However, ordering/serving only 1 app/entree/dessert at a time definitely slowed down the service unnecessarily. Bar service in MDR also slow and unreliable.
Bars-no Blue Curaçao on CoCo Cay, Guinness tap in pub broken. Both minor inconveniences, but surprising and removed 2 options we typically enjoy.
Fish and Ships-food quality was just ok and not worth the wait. Fish and Chips is included, used to be an up charge. Lobster rolls no longer available. I’d rather pay the additional cost for better quality. Now Fish and Ships is just 1 more option we’ll skip.
Overall, we had a good time. However, some of the recent policy changes have taken some of the “shine” off of cruising for us. Previously, we would have booked our next cruise shortly after returning home. We will definitely cruise again, and it will be w RCI. However, we’re considering some other vacation options (all inclusive) before booking our next cruise.

We had 11:30 arrival time for Mariner last week. Dropped bags at 11:05, parked car, took bridge from garage to terminal. Waited in line about 10 min. Once they let us into terminal, we were through security, checked in and on ship by 11:40.
Timing worked out well, but didn’t seem arrival times were enforced. While
waiting in line to be let in terminal from garage, they called out arrival times over PA, but by 11:25, they said all groups were welcome to board.

Sorry, I didn’t realize my groans from the Schooner were audible 😜
Thanks for the great reviews. I’m with you on the holiday cruising-too many kids for my liking. I like kids, but I leave mine at home when I cruise for a reason. We may try closer to mid-December next year.

Was on the elevator of Mariner this past week. Saw him a few times after dinner.
-
I received a response that our request for 2 top was forwarded to the ship (Mariner). We’ll see what happens when we board Saturday.
-
Will be joining you on Mariner 11/26. Have a great month.
If you happen to wander through the casino and notice table limits for blackjack, as well as if they have a let it ride or 3 card poker table, that would be much appreciated.

Anyone have thoughts on water temp at Coco Cay water park in late Feb?
-
We have been on Oasis, Freedom and Voyager class ships. All have pros/cons, but we've loved every ship and would cruise on any again.
Voyager is the only ship in that class we haven't been on, so can't speak to ship specifically. I love the setup of the pool deck, as we love to lay by pool all day, but prefer seats in the shade. Voyager class ships provide ample shaded seating, in my opinion.

You need to get a second seapass card for everyone who will access both rooms.
There is no need to book an adult in each room.
We're already booked. We'll keep that in mind for next time. Thank you. Appreciate the suggestion about the 2nd seapass card.

We booked 2 rooms (across hall from each other) w 1 teen and 1 adult in each room, but teens will sleep in 1, adults in other. This is our 1st time cruising w kids. For those w experience, do you get your seapass card updated once on board to access room you'll sleep in, or do you just deal w it? It's only a 3 nighter, so it will be manageable either way. Thanks for your thoughts.

My wife uses a sunrise alarm clock at home and loves it. Never used on cruise, as we book balcony stateroom, but may consider bringing it for kids interior stateroom on our next cruise. Great idea!

Does anyone know if Caffeine Free Diet Coke is available on Indy?
-
In our experience, it could only be used for cruise fare or OBC. It could not be applied to taxes/fees. Last week we used one to pay balance of our Nov cruise, redeemed online. Took a day or 2 to see our remaining cruise balance reduced to zero.

We're taking our kids on their 1st cruise in Feb. Youngest will be 14 and I am ok w him coming/going as he pleases, as long as he checks in periodically. Don't know if I would have been comfortable w that if he was younger, but as others have said, each kid is different.

Yes. We sailed Indy last week on Casino Comp. Upgraded to balcony and no problem applying our FCC. Did all this via Casino Royale when we booked. Good luck

Can’t speak to UDP, but fish, chips and lobster roll were all excellent. Just be prepared to wait a few minutes for your order to be prepared. It’s worth it though, everything comes out piping hot. My wife generally doesn’t like seafood and even she enjoyed the fish. Enjoy!

As others said, no “formal” night on our 4 day Independence cruise. Attire for dress your best night was wide ranging. Wear what you feel comfortable in. I wore jeans, button down and nice shoes to dining room every night and never felt underdressed. If you like to dress more formal, have at it. Some did, and they looked great.

We cruise Mon and were notified Thursday
-
Any explanation as to why? No change to the 11/1 itinerary yet.
-
We drink Prosecco regularly w the drink package and have never been charged. Enjoy!

Thank you all for the great discussion. I’m hopeful (but pessimistic) that testing won’t be required for our 11/1 cruise, but now will have 2 at home kits and 2 appointments for each of us, if needed.

I would order it as we had 2 appointments for both of us in CVS in September and both were canceled. (one 2 hours prior appt). We were lucky that we decided to have double insurance with home tests.
Thank you, ordered the kits today for 11/1 cruise. What city was the CVS located in that cancelled?

Can anyone speak to experience w CVS rapid testing specifically in Orlando? Curious if they’ve had scheduled tests canceled. We have 2 scheduled; 1 day before cruise and 1 morning of cruise (just in case).
