I don't think that they are being told to do that.  We just got off from 2 weeks on the Odyssey yesterday.  This isn't regarding voucher drinks, but we had the drink package.  We were not given a receipt in any venue by any bartender, ever.  They wouldn't all be ignoring management directive.

Drink packages never have a receipt in my experience.  For, this was a perk that enhanced the value of the package.

Diamond voucher drinks are hit or miss.

  2. It may depend on the ship.  And it changes over time.  For a while it was only a drink list similar to the Diamond Lounge.  Other times it has been pretty much anything.  Other times no frozen drinks.

And while the policy is you cannot take drinks out of the lounge, every cruise we have been offered to have glasses of wine to take to dinner.  And those glasses are a heavier pour that normal. 😄

A update and a answer to my question.

Yes ,they do return to their original tier if unlinked.

In my original question, someone who knows the girlfriend said she returned to gold with only her points.

Strange, because hundreds of post say the opposite.  Unless they recently changed the policy

The "cheat sheet" doesn't actually put the odds in your favor, it just makes it really close, but still ever so slightly in favor of the house.  So they don't mind that.

Counting cards can actually put the odds in the player's favor.  Although with multi-shoe decks, you're waiting so long to see a favorable period to bet in that it practically becomes a full-time job.  You become a "regular" there and they will definitely study you much more carefully.

The cheat sheet doesn't put the odds mathematically to either side, it just makes sure you are playing to the best odds for you.  Most people playing on hunches are lower their odds.

You probably need an IQ of 160 plus to count that many cards enough to make a difference.

You need a 160 to add or subtract 1 from another 1 digit number?????

Card counting it not remembering every card played and left, it is way to characterize the played cards as mostly high or low cards.

  6. Last time I looked, that is what their policy said.

I know I was concerned when the screwed up and combined my ex-wife and my GFs accounts.   To fix, they had to create a new one for my GF and I was worried about relinking them.

It may have been one of those things where the official, published rules say one thing, but the reality is difference, like corkage fees. 😄

Not exactly the topic here but.....I took my grandson on a cruise.   His mom and I got notarized form letter.  They didn't even look at it.  Didnt ask for it. My oldest daughter,  who is an immigration lawyer,  was astonished.   She said that was the one thing that they should have really checked.  I guess this is put in place to prevent human trafficking.   This was the port in Los Angeles.

Trafficking would be a bit obvious when they failed to make the ship at a port.   It is not like the ship is a one way trip

  8. Two different things.

Auto gratuities are added each day during the cruise and paid as part of the final bill.

Pre-paid gratuities are added and paid for at the time you set them up.

Some people prefer to pre-pay them so they have paid the total cost of their cruise and only have minor on board expenses while cruiring.

Are all of these with a TA? If so, aren’t those prices set in stone thru the TA or do you check on Royals site to see if they go lower than what the TA has?

I use an independent TA and she checks daily.  If there is a price change in my favor, she gets it and applies it.  I don't have to do anything.

As Diamond Plus, my husband and I each get 2 free days. What I've done on each of the past several cruises is to go to the internet desk when there are 4 days remaining in the cruise and ask the person to bump up our package by one device for the remainder of the cruise. Most recently, I had purchased a 4-device package in advance for our group. Then, on day 4 of a 7-day cruise, the crew member handling the internet desk "cashed in" our two 2-free-day coupons and bumped up our package* to a 5-device one.

Based on my past interactions doing this, this seems like a relatively routine request. It just has to be handled manually since their end-user system doesn't support that kind of a transaction.

    * One minor necessary "glitch" is that the cancelling of the lower package to replace it with the higher one signs out all devices requiring logging in again, so keep that in mind.

    Thanks for the info
