  1. Hi! I've read through this and am still a bit confused. Does anyone know if 8690 on Oasis has the bed but the closet. That's what we prefer but just wanted to check. I think it does but not sure. Thank You!

I believe 8690 has the bed by the closet. My parents had 8706 on Allure in 2015 and had that layout (brother and I were across the hall in BW balcony 8707 and had the opposite layout, as is typically the case with cabins directly across the hall from one another). As such, following the pattern, your cabin would be the same. Great location too, close to Central Park. Safe travels!

  2. I hope these were able to be helpful! Sorry for the poor photo quality, I was in a rush and took these with my iPad while I sat at the kitchen table. Once again, please don’t hesitate to ask any questions on here or on my review, as I’m always happy to return the favor for all the help I’ve gotten here on CC! Safe travels to all! 3. Hello all!

I have just started a thread with the Cruise Compasses for this sailing:https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=56326678#post56326678

I know Freedom is no longer sailing this itinerary (relocated to San Juan last month) but figured it may be helpful to anyone looking for an idea of what goes on onboard the ship. Thanks again to everyone who followed along here, and happy sailing to all!

  4. Hello all! I know that Freedom is no longer sailing this itinerary (has since relocated to San Juan for 7-night itineraries) but figured I’d post these anyway to give you all an idea of the entertainment and activities onboard for similar sailings. I also have a review here:

    https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2621680

Please let me know if you have any questions, or which events I went to, etc. and I would be happy to answer. Happy cruising!

  5. Thank you so much for the review! I personally enjoy the variety - I’ve stayed in oceanview, Boardwalk, Central Park, Promenade, interior, don’t really have a favorite! On Harmony, I too had a Central Park Balcony on Deck 10 - 10207 to be exact (forward half of CP, port side, 6 cabins from the living wall). We liked this cabin because it was right above the musicians, and being on Deck 10 we were furthest from the pool deck and closest to the park. If you ever do decide to try a CP balcony again, I would definitely recommend Deck 10. We did like the perks that came with it! I hope you enjoyed Symphony, I hope to get onboard over summer 2020 (most likely in an interior cabin due to budget) and all the reviews are holding me over until then! Thanks again for sharing your opinion, and happy future travels!

ETA: we too could see into cabins across the way, on the last night of the cruise I witnessed a pillow fight across in 10607 and that was quite entertaining! [emoji6]

  6. Correct, they will not punch holes in the SeaPass card to avoid deactivating the RFID chip. On Quantum Class and Harmony (and I’m assuming Symphony too), you can purchase what’s called a WOWband for $4.95, which has all the same functions as the SeaPass card, but without replacing it; they can be used in conjunction with one another. The only place WOWbands do not work is on the gangway; you must have your card with you to embark and disembark the ship in ports of call. Hopefully this helps, I loved mine on Harmony! Have a great cruise, I can’t wait to get on Symphony, most likely over summer 2020!

  7. Thanks....must have confused it with Harmony

Yes, it is Harmony that does not have the Solarium pool. I spent a lot of time in the one on Allure, I loved the jets and fountains in the middle! So yes, there’s a pool - not big by any means, but perfect for a relaxing dip. Enjoy your cruise!

  8. Sorry...Harmony on 7/14/18

Yes, Harmony has them, they are $4.95 at Guest Services throughout the cruise (there may also be a stand on the Promenade on embarkation day selling them). I found them to be very handy! Enjoy your cruise!

  9. When the cruise is paid in full.

Correct! There have been times where we’ve paid in full and completed online checkin well in advance and printed the SS pass right at the 90-day mark! If I recall correctly, I also believe that final payment must be made by this time. Correct me if I’m wrong! Thanks for the clarification!

  10. At least on the Oasis of the Seas you still get your card at checkin.

That’s how it was when I sailed Oasis in 2014 as well, but have heard that the Oasis class as a whole had switched to the new format - I know for a fact that Allure has as I know someone who sailed recently, but am not certain about Oasis. Thanks for clearing that up!

  11. Some other ships have reportedly started this as well - like Adventure.

Is this true? I am not surprised - I can see it being gradually rolled out to the fleet. Thanks for the info!

  12. You should be able to print your SetSail pass 90 days from your sailing date. You will receive your SeaPass card (stateroom key and charge card) in the port terminal upon boarding, or in the case of Oasis and Quantum class, outside of your stateroom door. Hope this helped! Enjoy your cruise!

  13. Thank you. I wasn't sure about the rotation

You’re more than welcome! Typically, they rotate every ten weeks, however it is not unheard of nor particularly uncommon for captains to go an extra week. This is standard for all ships, at least in the RCI fleet.

  14. I think that’s a great idea! IMHO, Hotel Directors don’t get all the credit where it’s due for the work they do - they’re the backbone behind the customer service value onboard. If you’re able to get a list, please do post it, and those who have sailed with those HDs can provide input. While I cannot name the Hotel Director on any of my past cruises, I can say with certainty that customer service has almost always been on par. Thanks so much again for the idea to start this list!
