  1. Hello,

I noticed something strange when browsing shore excursions. The past few times we have been to Cayman we booked the Seven Mile Beach Break through Princess. When we were comparing Holland America and Princess cruises for this November I noticed that neither one is offering that beach break anymore. This is not a huge inconvenience, we can obviously get there for ourselves. DH likes to book through the ship though for peace of mind. Any idea of why they might have stopped offering it?

  2. Hi everyone! We're on the Regal over Thanksgiving for the 7 day western caribbean and we booked Marina 305, a balcony mid-forward right near the elevators.

Today I received an "upgrade" notification from Princess via email. I was very excited! Then I saw that they moved us to Dolphin 305. :') It looks exactly the same to me. Am I missing something? How is that an upgrade? I haven't decided if it is worth the effort to switch back or if I should just roll with it.

  3. Hello! I have cruised on Princess but never on HAL. We are doing the Eurodam 7-Day cruise over Thanksgiving week. I'm so excited to try a new line. Our two kids, 15 and 11, will be with us. They loved the Princess kids club, and I know HAL traditionally has fewer kids but since it is over Thanksgiving I assume there will be some. Anyone else on this cruise or taken a Thanksgiving cruise? Does the dining room do a nice dinner?

  4. I have to confess, I am surprised this is even a discussion. I have been on Princess twice, and both times I perceived the Piazza/IC/Vines etc. area to be a place where people could sit and relax and do whatever they want. It would NEVER have occurred to me that I needed to purchase something in order to occupy those seats for as long as I wanted, whether it was watching the entertainment, reading, playing cards, just chatting, etc.

Frankly, I don't really think that I would notice what people were doing at their table. I do a quick scan, sit down if there's a seat and move on if there isn't.

  5. It's north of the port and it's where ship sponsored excursions for beach breaks and snorkeling typically go. Snorkeling is better than along the malecon but if that's not your thing you might be better off taking a taxi tot he malecon and just hitting one of the better beach clubs, like Tropicante, YaYa or Pez Quadro. No "admission" charge, just purchase some food and/or drink. All these clubs are next to each other, same stretch of beach.

Thank you very much! I appreciate it.

  6. We just got back from a week on the Regal in January. You are going to love it. Make sure you and your girls attend at least one High Tea while on ship. They serve High Tea in the Dining Room every day at 3:30 I believe. The schedule is on the back of your Pattter. I paid for the one put on by the IC in the Piazza although it was nice My daughter and I would have been just as satisfied with the one in the Dining Room that was for free. The one in the Piazza served three kinds of tea and/or champagne for a price of $10.oo/$20.00 a person. My daughter is 20 and we still enjoyed having high tea like princesses. So make sure you try it.

YES! DH and I did this last year on the Caribbean Princess! I loved it but he was sort of indifferent. ;) I can't wait to take my girls.

  7. Hello all! I am suffering from major cabin fever (2 and a half feet of snow has us homebound here in Virginia!) and so am fantasizing about our March 20th cruise on the Regal! We have never been on her before and have never cruised with the two kiddos we adopted in 2015, so I have a few questions!

    1) Do the girls need formal attire? They are 13 and 9. Will sundresses be okay on formal night? I feel like fancy dresses will be a tough sell on vacation.

    2) I have heard great things about Alfredo's, but my husband is a... simple eater. Can you order a plain cheese pizza there? On the menu I only see specialty ones.

    3) Not a Regal question, but a Princess Cay question: Has anyone rented a bungalow and were they happy with it? We haven't been there but feel $200 for the four of us might not be a bad deal.

    TIA!

  8. Sorry if this has been discussed a million times. My husband and I are currently scheduled for anytime dining, but I have read some posts in other forums from people who said they had to wait a long time for seating. I chose anytime so we could get a table for two, but if I don't want a wait am I better off with traditional dining?

Just looking for some opinions! Thanks!

  9. Hi everyone!

DH and I have never cruised before but we actually have two scheduled for this year!! :) Both are on Princess. My question is this: is there a way to view your gifts/services purchases online? Also, if specialty dining is included as part of the offer you booked, would that show up somewhere on your cruise personalizer?

Thanks for your patients with a newbie!

    Amanda
