Looks like a great trip but just a bit rich for my budget for a balcony. Just can't deal with an inside cabin for a trip that long

  2. FWIW, as I mentioned earlier, this is not really a new development with RCI. Disappointing, yes. I booked Hawaii, 2017, on Radiance, back in June, 2015, on the opening date. Hawaii sailings are included with Australia.

Disappointing is the correct phrase. Just concerned I'll miss opening day, and bless my TA for keeping an eye open for me as well. Pretty sure she's hoping the wait ends soon too....lol.

  3. For those of you waiting on the Asia/Australia deployment, I just read on the Blog that cannot be mentioned that it has been pushed back to 'early June'

Oh say it isn't so, I have been waiting so patiently for what feels like forever already!

I mean how many times can they push the release date:mad:

If Royal isn't careful I may be swayed to another line just to secure passage!!!

I will be checking in here as always in the hopes that the June date doesn't materialize........

  4. I doubt it. For now our spring 2018 bookings are in Asia on Millennium with a Japan circumnavigation to be POSSIBLY followed by TP relo to Vancouver. In 2012 we sailed AOS from SJU to Malaga and switched to Voyager from Barcelona to Dubai to Singapore. We also sailed Legend from Singapore to Dubai in 2013. Bottom line, staying with Millennium offers all new ports. I've got plenty on the books but no idea how many will actually happen. Are you on Radiance soon?

The Millenium Japan circumnavigation with a reposition to Vancouver is exactly what we have booked for April 2018 right now, unless tomorrow brings a promo extra ordinary that is the booking we'll be keeping. See you onboard!

  5. Just spoke with a RC Agent and the prices she gave me where the same as yours but did not include taxes or port fees.

She also said RC is coming out with a new promotion tomorrow with reduced deposit but would not commit to saying if they would be offering OBC or an upgrade.

We had our TA put a room on hold for us and will wait until tomorrow to see what RCCL's new promotion is.

Perhaps I should hold a room and see what tomorrow brings, would give me time to think over the decision.

If the prices are without the port fees and taxes that makes it a bit less desirable to us though.

  6. We signed on today for Dubai to FL!

If all goes well, we will do Brilliance TA over to Europe and bring Mariner back to FL

Flying into Dubai for my DH is a problem, they have drug restrictions and he needs stuff that they restrict. If we were going to do this one it would have to be from Singapore or not at all.

Your plan sounds great, no long haul flights involved!

  7. Sorry... looked at wrong number.

    Trip 1 - inside 921, ocean 1020, balcony 1218, suite 1612

    Trip 2 - inside 817, ocean 916, balcony 1162, suite 1507

    Trip 3 - inside 758, ocean 968, balcony 1176, suite 1594

Does this pricing include taxes and port charges?

While this does conflict with another trip it is decent pricing for a nice long trip.

  8. Been checking 3-4 times per day every day, just in case it gets released without warning (since it's 'TBD'!). Certainly hoping to book one of the TPs as soon as they come out!

Counting on one of you to post as soon as you find out! I was calling in and checking as was my TA till she went out of town this week, I am so tired of waiting I hope it turns out to worth it!

  9. Simon, we went to Sydney a few years ago for work and loved it!! We decided then that once we retire we would go back and spend more time to enjoy the rest of the country. I tried hard to talk my husband into doing the bridge climb then, but was unsuccessful - he is a wimp with heights. That being said, I did get him to zip line this year, so he is getting braver in his old age, I may be able to talk him into it this time! Thanks for your feedback on the cruise.

Our first visit downunder we circumnavigated AUS/NZ and loved it, would have like to do the TP back with that trip but even with the extra time we tacked on after the cruise it didn't line up, so last year we went back for a shorter visit knowing we wanted to do it, so we did the Sydney to Seattle run. We are waiting for Royal Caribbean to open up the TP sailings latter this month for 2019. Like your husband I too am a bit bad with heights so what we did was a partial walk along the bridge to the first pylon and they have stairs to climb up for a birds eye view and a bit of a museum of the history of the bridge as well, just an option to the bridge climb.

  10. The plot thickens ~~

So crazy the information or mis-information out there, my TA has been calling RCI to book AUS for us since last week even though I knew the release date was TBD and yesterday she was told today, this morning she was told at some point this afternoon, but end of the work day in Florida will be upon us shortly and still no release:mad:

Perhaps fate is trying to tell us not to go back......nay!

I was hoping for the Explorer, done a TP before on her, it's just a nice warm relaxing trip for us.

  11. The Australia/New Zealand release keep changing, anyone know why?

    First it was 3rd April

    Then it was 10 April

    Then it was 12 April

    Now it's TBD.

I'm hanging out to book the Sydney to Honolulu or reverse again.

Anyone know the hold up? Are they possibly changing ships down this way?

At the moment our season has Voyager, Explorer, Radiance and Ovation.

I know there has been a bit of chatter on possible changes to the ships, I am going to book the TP regardless and take my chances.

I am going to call everyday starting on the 12th, they'll be sick and tired of me...lol

Thanks for posting the updated deployment sheet.

  12. A bit off topic but not if you know what I mean

We booked a future cruise when onboard harmony and were going to change it when the new itineraries were released but unfortunately the anthem sailings are not as good as I had hoped port wise. What happens if we just cancel we are in the uk and I know I will loose the low deposit but we got some obc on harmony for booking what happens with that ?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Nothing should happen, you had the credit on the Harmony if you cancel they keep your deposit so they recoup what they've already given you.

  13. Was hoping to book Hawaii for Spring 2019 on Radiance next week, but I guess I will have to wait another week.[emoji44] I am currently booked on the Solstice, but my prices are ridiculously high at, $5,000 f two people for an OV cabin. I booked that not too long ago and I think I missed out on lower prices since the sailing was open on Celebrity in December or January it seems. So, I am hoping to be able for lower my cost by booking Radiance. Plus, if it is a few days later than Solstice it will work out better for me anyway, giving us some extra time in Hawaii pre-cruise.

Thanks for the heads up on the change of release date for the TP.

I looked at the Solstice too Ginny, but I really want a balcony and well at their prices it isn't going to be happening! Anticipation will only make the booking sweeter right......lol.

  14. What do you do on a long cruise?

Some items I hand wash, while others I send to the ship's laundry.

My only piece of advice is to dry clean delicate items, the ship's laundry is not easy on your clothes, they'll iron on labels which will need to be pulled off. I tend to only send those items that I know will stand up to this handling or that I'm willing to part with if they don't come back in the same condition I sent them in.

Honestly an 11 day cruise shouldn't be that bad unless you are trying to pack light.

    Good luck.
