  1. Have mixed feelings on this...I hate to see the DL and CL go away...cause I have meet most of our wonderful cruise friends there.

It also did make us before we became diamond that I wanted access to this area and have the chance to meet others that loved to cruise~ cause you knew they have cruised alot also.

Now the ideal to have a drink other places if I choose is nice to have a drink with ones that are not that level yet. But I can see it being a mess with bartenders and how they treat and feel towards this being part of their job now. I just had the premium non alcohol drink package last cruise for the first time...and was treated different many times when I would try to order the drink that was included in the package. I felt like I was putting them out by some.

  2. You must purchase for at least 4 days, and whenever you purchase it must extend to the end of the cruise. For example, you cannot have the package for day 2 and day 4. However, on a 7 day cruise, you could have the package for days 4-7.

I see...thanks for the understanding...guess I will just purchase it for the whole cruise our 13 day cruise. I think is just to everyone that their own personal use I also forgot I got some speciality tea from star bucks also. But it could be something I could have or do without if I needed to save money.:D

  3. I got the Royal Replenish on our last 10 day cruise on the Grandeur...I thought it was worth it.....yes, I had more Frappuccino's then I would of if I didn't purchase the package...but really enjoyed 3 of them a day, soda was nice around the pool and dinner and shows...then really liked the bottled water for in my room and port days. I only a couple times got the fresh squeezed orange juice...but did like it. It was our first time doing it. We've always just had the soda package. Now we are diamond so we do get free drinks in the evening at the diamond lounge.

But I didn't know that you could just purchase certain days...we pre ordered this before our cruise.

So to anyone that did just days how did they mark your card? I think that would be better yet on sea days if you can do it that way.

  4. Just update here...that I return the phone call to this Laura that was calling in behalf Adam Goldstein that left the message on my answer machine concerning to the email that I sent. Yesterday tried and she was not available then put on hold for the next agent 10 min and didn't get anyone was on lunch break so had to try again today, so after her not available once again and on hold for 17 min. I got someone to find out she is still not available and would give her a message that she is in a meeting. So we will see what happens.

They did not offer upgrade and yes I felt deck 2 was a down grade. I am waiting to see what will be compensated.

  5. Julie, sorry you and Steve had to deal with this the whole time. As you know we were just down the hall and had no issues at all. It seems to be random. As we told you, the one problem we ever had with a toilet was onboard GR in 2009, but that was one that kept filling. Once they fixed it at 1 am, it was fine. We did get some compensation (~$125 that we applied to our next cruise) after the fact due to our comment card and the fact they were working on our toilet at 1 am while I didn't feel great and was trying to sleep. The only other toilet issues we have ever had is slow flushing (or not flushing at all). If people would quit flushing things that don't belong, there wouldn't be a problem. All it takes is one person flushing something other than toilet paper to hose up a section of the system and that's on any ship. I don't know why people don't pay attention or don't care, but it does impact others.

Well there was a message on my answer machine today from one who is in representation of Mr. Goldstein...due to my email that they are looking into my complaints and issues. That they will be getting back to me. So tomorrow I will give her a call and to see what she has to say!

  6. we were on independence in this room last year and we have got it again this year we had a normal card which opened the concierge lounge door. I wondered if we contacted the concierge we would be allowed a gold card so we could use the portofinos dining room for breakfast etc and also the pool area.

    I would ....

  7. So sorry to hear that! Can you tell us what room you were in? We are booked on this ship in September and we also booked a higher floor because we had heard about sewage problems on the lower floors.

8579...but like I said by the 9th day it was finally getting better...lol but it was a 10 day cruise!

but I still had a blast great cruise...was our best waiter we've ever had was on this cruise....and meet alot of nice people. I know I wish people would take consideration on what happens when they flush things down that should not be!

I just know if I do ever go again...I will have numbers by my side...and also take air freshener for the bathroom.. I did use my body spray alot.

  8. I was on Deck 8 on the cruise before yours. We had some issues, too. One 3 days there were a few hours each day where the toilet would not flush. Then when they fixed it it would all of a sudden work. But, no smells or overflow.

We called maintenance and they explain there was a problem on the main line.

PS--you can call the ship's maintenance department directly from your cabin phone. The number is listed.

I thank you...and know if I ever go on that ship again will have that number really close by!

  9. Update: Sorry to tell everyone my experience on the Grandeur of the Sea March 18th sailing...

On day 2 it started with my tolitte over flowing and I had saw a room attendent outside when I had went into my room. So I run out and tell him that it was over flowing, ( this was not my attendent) but said he would tell someone. Well it got worse and was to the door now and go back out and told him once again and he just throws me towels and said he would get someone. .....well I waited 30 min and no one came this was about 1:30 pm. I left was not going to waste my day in the room that stunk! Well we come back later to get dressed for diamond lounge and for dinner. While the towels were still on the floor and this was 6pm and when we left told our room attendent the towels were still all over the floor. It kept on stinking and we would tell our room attendent. Well then day 4 in the night at 4:30 am I get up to go to the bathroom and it ends up over flowing and had to use all my towels and bathrobes to catch it.

This was the most digusting thing to have and step in your bare feet!!!! So when the tolitte over flowed that morning I had enough...this is the first time in 20 cruises have I ever went to a service desk and complain! They scrubbed the carpet but it never took the urine smell away.

So I kept telling the room attendent that it still stink in our room. ON day 7 we complain once again and my husband goes down this time, has the woman come up to our room and smelled it for herself. Said to scrub the carpet once again. I told the room attendent that shower curtain was yellow on the bottom...and seems like urine fumes would come in the bathroom. Now it is day 8 and finally they call and offer us a room to transfer to deck 2...now it upset me on day 8 and also now to deck 2 since I had heard of smelling problems was on lower decks and purchased higher inside cabin due to that reason and now asked to go down there. But that was not the main up setting about this offer was tell me to pack up everything and then unpack once again and then not next day but day after that to repack again! I think this should of been offered way before this. We declined and was hoping things could improve and my husbands migraines from this smell would go away! So they did replace new curtain and I think finally carpet finally dried that on day 9 it was most of the time better. But at times you could still get smell of it in the bathroom but not all the time.

I wish the best for anyone ...I was being told this happens on all the ships...

I have not come to decide if I can rebook this cruise like I was going to next April 2015....have to really think on this for awhile...I NEVER want to go through this again!

  10. We are going to Bridgetown, Barbados on the Brilliance Nov. 1 and was wanting to know how far this is from dock and when you get there . Is there alot of taxi's waiting there to take you back? What was the charge for the taxi? Thank you!

  11. Just back from St Lucia and I organized a CC group of 21 for the Jealousie Beach Break with Spencer and we had a great day!

As promised Spencer and his staff were waiting outside the tourism building for us with a sign. We were a bit delayed but it was out fault as we were waiting for two people that never showed up.

Spencer himself escorted us across to the dock where we boarded two boats to head to the beach. We needed to take two since his new one is still not licensed as the person who does the license has been away for 2 weeks.

We had a great ride out to the Pitons and really enjoyed our time on the beach. There was some rain on the ride out and alittle bit more when we arrived but it cleared out nicely and we had a great day on the beach. Since we were the first to arrive there were plenty of beach chairs and Spencer provided us with rum punch, beer, water and sodas. Lunch was very good with Chicken and salads.

I did not snorkel but a few in our group did and said it was wonderful, like snorkeling in a fish bowl. One of Spencers guides even helped one of our members who uses a walker in and out of the water so he could snorkel and was feeding the fish for everyone to see.

Spencer spent the entire day with us and was a real treat to talk to. He really loves his island.

Our guided tour along the coast was just as much fun as my son asked Spencer to drive fast so he did, just for a few mins to make him laugh, actually he made us all laugh.

We arrived back at the pier by 3:30 and still had time to do some shopping.

Everyone in the group enjoyed the day and I would definitely book with Spencer again

thanks for the update sure hope he has things back organized....I needed another tour guide since one I had done is booked full...hope to hear more of recent experiences from others! My main goal was Jealousie beach so maybe this would be a different way getting there an experience then we did last time.

  12. If I purchase the soda package, can it be upgraded to the Royal Replenish package for the last 4 days of the cruise by paying the difference?

They do cover upgrades for those who have already purchased the $55 Premium to the $65 Ultimate, by saying they are able to pay only the difference of $10 posted to their onboard account.

This same logic applied, would say yes, but they did not cover the Royal Replenish package from Beverage Package in the original terms presented.

I plan to print out that document and take it on my next sailing in April.

I wish they would have that nice of list for the $20 replenish package and know what things you I can ask for.

  13. I say ahead of time sorry if I missed this question being asked...I looked and did not see.

I have purchased this package.... and was asking if they honor when your around the pool and get the non alcohol drink from bartenders just walking around, and also when you go to the shows and dinner.

I am really looking forward to see how much I will like this on my cruise next month. Since I have alot of sea days on our 10 day cruise I thought I would try this since I would get alot of frozen and speciality coffee drinks and had purchased the soda card always also. So will see if the coffee, frozen drinks, squeezed oj at windjammer and the bottled water will be worth the difference.

  14. Well so far I was very impressed sent him an email to request and make sure that we saw the big planes come in this time. He responded back in 15 min. ( we had been there before on a tour and was told we would...so he said he would make sure. then also my husband is a big harley davidson bike rider and wanted to get a t-shirt and he said he would make sure that he would get there. ) So I am looking forward to this and hope this was best choice then just taking a taxi to both places ...I felt this was going to be the best for the amount of time for the tour and price.

  15. Hope we get to see the extra cow. Nice way to remember.

    Have a great weekend.

Thanks, Told him now that I would like to donate a cow to each one on each ship...how nice of in memory would that be for my mom. So now if we can't book the room and we have a cabin crawl...I thought about taking a cow and donate it that way! But in the search of maybe next year to do one... :D

  16. Hello

Can I ask please, with this stateroom, is it the same cost of normal promenade rooms, and just look if you book first?

    :D

yep, and I even have my husband said he would even do this room over again, even with the noise. But I am anxious now to book it once again. I have another cow to donate to the room! :D

  17. See this thread for more info: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1757691

We'll keep this thread for plumbing issues...thanks!

    Thank you,

It would be great if we could keep this thread on-topic - There are lots of people following it to find out the status of the plumbing issues, not necessarily for stateroom reviews. ;)

I am sorry that I asked...it was due to the room I have is on the 3rd floor and they had been giving responses to this was one of the areas that was having problems of the issue..so I was looking at a different area that I may move to...sorry

  18. :) oh double points...I would book it every time...but no such luck....they can get people to book it with the few benefits...to put up with some inconviences. I still think I may do it on another ship and put another cow in the room...I teased my husband and told him I want to do all the freedom class and do the room and leave a cow in memory of my mom..:D
