  1. They do sell a variety of holders in addition to the free lanyard. If you are so inclined, you can shop for anything that holds an AirTag and it will work as well. You can also drop it in a pocket or purse and rarely have to fish it out (occasionally you might have to press it to a reader).
  2. Find out all you can from people who actually used the insurance. Lots of companies can quote you an affordable premium. The measure of good insurance is how well they manage claims. This applies to all insurance: homeowners, auto, health, etc. I had to learn that the hard way.
  3. There is a huge market of potential cruisers living in and around Orlando, especially during the winter. I also imagine the hope is that some folks will combine a cruise with an Orlando vacation. That would take a bucket load of money, so maybe that’s secondary. I certainly agree that FLL is incredibly convenient to the port and served by a decent selection of hotels for the night before. Twenty years ago, we would fly into FLL for a Miami cruise because it was cheaper and easier to deal with than MIA. I don’t know if that’s still true but it’s still a smaller city.
  4. 2024. It’s bookable right now.
  5. I think it starts in November.
  6. Our next Princess cruise isn’t until June. I’ll have forgotten everything I remember about embarkation at PE. We drive down the night before even though it’s only a 4 hour drive. I can’t wait until CB sails out of Port Canaveral. I would probably feel comfortable driving to the port on embarkation day. It’s under 2 hours.
  7. I think we parked first and then rolled our bags to the check station. I will admit the parking garage challenged my sense of direction. Surprisingly, I found the car in the garage with no trouble 10 days later..
  8. I think the OP would like suggestions on how to do that.
  9. You might try using chat, if it’s really a problem with your information and not the app acting like a buggy piece of software.
  10. This is speculation on my part. I think it’s similar to what land-based businesses are experiencing. People got used to working remotely and when companies started talking about coming back to the office, even a couple days a week, employees dug in their heels. A career with a cruise line is challenging. Many of these employees don’t see their families for months on end. So, if they were furloughed and went home, they got used to a more normal life. Maybe they found a job at home, or nearby. Maybe it pays the same as cleaning cabins or bussing tables in the buffet. Maybe just a little less. I don’t know about unemployment rates worldwide, but it’s still 3.8% here in the US. It’s possible the cruise lines will have to offer more to attract the numbers of employees they need. I don’t think they can say, c’mon back. Your old job is available. Same pay. Same benefits. Another reason prices will probably continue to rise until the next recession. Just my opinion. I don’t have any inside information.
  11. Just do plenty of research before making a deposit.
  12. I wasn’t suggesting they could make the purchase. I just wondered if the human on the other side of the chat had the power to fix the status so the OP could purchase online at the correct price. But it’s very possible they do not. I wouldn’t call Princess if my life depended on it. I make a TA do the work.
  13. Life is full of mysteries. A lot of things can happen between now and the sail date. And many can affect your chances. You just need a single cabin. May the cruise gods smile upon your quest.
  14. I think your opinion of a Carnival stock as an investment is very much dependent on the price you pay. I’ve been burned on any number of stocks, but most started out a lot higher in price than the ~$11 a share I paid. I’m not wealthy but I can afford to lose $1000. If I lose $4-6000, I’m kicking myself. The hospitality industry is not for cowards like me.
  15. I paid $1,090 for 100 shares less than a year ago. I have received $200 in OBC to date and expect another $100 in June. That’s a $300 return in 18 months, that’s an 18% annualized return. So it’s doing better than your 5.XX% for me. I’m 70 and expect to cruise at least once a year for another 10 years, should I live that long. I’m not counting on it, but maybe the stock will still have at least $1,090 value when I’m ready to stop cruising and sell.
  16. I’m curious if you considered ordering one of the specialty entrees while in the MDR? IIRC, the price is lower and the food is the same. So, is it the CG atmosphere you liked? I’m one who did mention a hallway odor on CB back in March on the Aloha deck. But since it didn’t penetrate to our cabin, I shrugged it off. I did figure someone else would complain if their cabin got stinky, but it was there for the entire cruise. Pretty simple problem to fix, or so I hear. And I suppose it should have been reported by the cabin attendant(s) for that sector.
  17. Some evidence has been presented here that the charge shows but doesn’t go through. However, some folks report that they were charged and had to visit guest services to obtain a refund. I was in the first group. I don’t think the accessories mandate a charge to Plus package purchasers.
  18. There are multiple threads out there on starlink and internet on Princess ships. I’m pretty sure I read on one of them this week that the last ship or two were in the process of installing starlink. You should be fine in December.
  19. Based on the thread title, I thought maybe you wanted to challenge the “corkage” fee for twist off bottles with no cork.
  20. After years of business travel, I avoid all adjoining rooms. It may be fine, it may not. I think it depends on your neighbors. I have very sensitive hearing and many a nights sleep has been ruined by noise from the next room, most of it innocent. No matter how well the ship is constructed, noise can leak from cabin to cabin. The adjoining door is a particularly weak spot. Maybe some lines/ships have addressed it better than others, but I’m not willing to take the chance. And since it’s shown on deck plans, they are easy to avoid.
  21. And that will continue until a weaker economy keeps more people at home. A refundable reservation for a future cruise might be a wise strategy as we start to fly into headwinds and turbulence. Assuming, of course, that the OP is trying to find bargain prices and a ship sailing under capacity at some point next year. Caveat: I am not predicting the near future world economy, just parroting what several financial advisors had said. I’m sure there are contradictory opinions.
  22. We have. But her priorities at breakfast are fiber and hot tea. I like protein and grease, maybe a few carbs, and strong smooth coffee. And I can survive half the day on just the coffee. I agree about the menu/tablecloth/server and being led to a table. The experience is considerably elevated over the other two options (we are not room service people). I’ve never seen the MDR crowded at breakfast, although we’ve never gone on disembarkation day. So, in a word, ambiance is what makes it better. But sometimes she’s in a hurry - she only weighs 100#, so needs fuel right after waking. And we feel comfortable in the IC or vicinity, after rising and getting dressed without a high degree of primping. I feel compelled to make myself more presentable for breakfast in the MDR because of the atmosphere.
  23. Can you use the chat feature to do that? We all know what level of customer care quality you get on the phone. But I’ve been impressed with my limited chat interactions.
  24. So, which do you prefer: MDR, buffet or IC? I let my wife select our breakfast venue because it’s a more important meal for her than it is for me. She likes the IC muesli and since I can get an Americano next door, I’m satisfied. But breakfast in the MDR just screams “vacation” to me (even though I’m retired). Breakfast in the buffet says “business trip”. I’m not sure what message I get from the IC.
  25. Skip the barbecue sandwich. It’s not from North Carolina or any state within 1,000 miles of it.
