  1. That's good to hear (I'll be experiencing AT for the first time on Pride). Thanks for the reporft!:) Do you happen to remember what the Port of Call dishes were?

Not really. I usually got other stuff. Some of my favorites were the veal parm, lasagna, filet and short rib.

The Port of Call that I got was some chicken in a pastry for an appetizer. The crab soup that I didn't like was an app one night. There was a Caribbean pepper pot for a main but I didn't try it. The last night I had the Port of Call jerked pork loin and it was amazing.

  2. We are just off an 8 day cruise on the Pride and were very impressed with the American Table/Feast menus. We thought the food was delicious and the service ranged from good to great (we had different waiters because we did Anytime dining and never requested the same waiter). There was a minestrone soup that came out cold and was salty and tasteless and a crab soup a couple of nights later that tasted pretty similar. Other than that everything was great.

So good in fact that we cancelled our plans to go to the steak house since we were enjoying the MDR food so much!

    Enjoy your cruise

  3. For those that have sailed out of Baltimore before what time would you advise to arrive at the port if you want to get an early boarding number? We are taking a cab to the port so don't need to park a car.

From reading these boards it seems like after ten and before eleven. Does that sound accurate? (assuming the ship is back on time)

    Thanks.

  4. You're probably better off calling Carnival and asking for special needs and ask for assistance with boarding. I have no experience with it, but I believe they have some wheelchairs at the port to assist.

If you really want FTTF, keep checking daily. Sometimes, they open up.

I think this is the way to go!

Hope you have a wonderful cruise.

  5. I know we're only at the tail end of January, but what sailings have everyone booked for 2016 thus far?

We are leaving on the Carnival Pride out of Baltimore a week from Saturday. It's an eight day cruise stopping at Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, and Nassau. In October we are on the NCL Dawn out of Boston to Bermuda.

We hadn't cruised in a decade and went last year and now have two booked for this year. My wife said "we are not going on any cruises in 2017."

So I booked another one for January 2018! :p

  6. Yes, you are farther from lido, but here's my thoughts. I take the stairs. We had 2288 and have booked the same room on the Breeze for a b2b cruise. 2288 is between the main elevators and the ones that go up to the buffet. It's very easy to go up the stairs for where you want to go. And the added benefit is the exercise!! That means more warm chocolate melting cake!! The view to the water is way better than a higher room. It is literally like having an ocean front room. I enjoyed the balcony way more than our last two, which were lido balconies.

We recently booked this on the Breeze for Jan of 2018. I've seen some posts saying this is between lifeboats so more sun from above. True? And is it quiet above? Appears to be away from the galley.

    Thanks!

  7. We received four price drops on our cruise last year. Twice the form was fine and twice it was denied but when I called and talked to someone they agreed that it should not have been denied. One of the times we ended up upgrading to a Spa balcony for less than our regular balcony had been.

  8. Does anyone know if there are hourly Stand Up Paddleboard rentals on HMC? The price lists I've seen online show boats and floats to rent but no paddleboards; however, in various reviews I have seen pictures of paddleboards on the beach and one of someone in the water on one.

    Thanks.

  9. Are there paddleboard rentals on HMC? I haven't seen it listed anywhere or heard anyone talk about it here; however, in a couple of picture I have seen what appear to be paddleboards on the beach.

  10. I'm not sure what the protocol is for Cozumel, but when we had a private tour in Jamaica we bought our guide lunch. We spent a long time talking to him and his cousin (who owned the company) and it only enhanced our experience.

When we were in St. Maarten, our guide did not eat with us, even though we offered (we were a larger group that time).

I would offer -- it was a great way to learn more about the place you are visiting!

I think we offered our guide to sit with us for lunch and would have paid but he declined. He was always around in the background watching to see if we needed anything and that made us feel very safe. We definitely took care of him at the end of the day- he truly deserved it.

  11. I've been to Atlantis when I was on a land vacation and was able to be there for the whole day. Actually two days since we did the Comfort Inn thing. We had a blast. The grounds are beautiful and the water park was really fun. That being said, at the end of the day, it is a water park. I don't think it is worth the cost to go for a short amount of time when on a cruise. It's comparable to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach at Disney (when they were in their prime) so you can compare if you've been to those. Maybe a little nicer but it's a water park.
