We went to Maya Chan with a group of about 25 last February and were very impressed. The staff were very accommodating and incredibly nice. The food was delicious and drinks plentiful. A few people in our group were disappointed because the water isn't a brilliant blue color which seemed a little silly to me.
We had a blast sitting in floating chairs while the staff waded out with more drinks. They knew exactly what time we should leave to make it back to the ship and kept an eye on the time for us so we could relax completely. I would book again in a heartbeat.

I don't understand why they even still do the stickers. It is coded into your account when you have it. My sticker wore off on the second day and it was never an issue.
-
Hmmm. That seems reasonable especially in a tourist area. Say the drinks were $12 each and then $10 for the food. With tax that would be about $37.

Thanks so much for bringing us along on another cruise! Your reviews are so informative and you seem like such a nice, fun family who live life to the fullest.
The pictures of you and Ryan on the "rum boat" are priceless!

Being a Pats fan from New England, I suggest when you do bring it in from the balcony to carry it yourself and not try to throw it through the open balcony door into the room.
Hahahahaha.

Finally happened upon some good reviews with mention of the Tiki Bikini Hut. Here's the Trip Advisor link: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g147416-d4582228-Reviews-The_Tiki_Bikini_Hut-Nassau_New_Providence_Island_Bahamas.html
It's #1 out of 110 things to do in Nassau, is within walking distance of the ship, and you can get two chairs, umbrella, and three drinks for $35. Anywhere else you'd probably pay that for the chairs and umbrella alone. Other reviews mention the same deal for $45 but with 8 drinks and includes beach towels. The sign in some of the pictures shows unlimited free soft drinks for kids under 11. How about $30 for all you can drink (up to 200 drinks) :)
Thank you so much for this! It's now at the top of my list for things to do in Nassau next February!

Another wonderful review! Thanks for all of the effort you put into them!
We are looking forward to this same itinerary on the Pride in February.

Rockland has a lot of cute little shops and restaurants. You can easily make a day of walking the breakwater and then poking around the main street. The Farnsworth Art Museum is very nice as well.

I love sea days. This year a friend chose our cruise and it was 4 ports in 7 days. I was exhausted by the end. For next year I chose 3 ports in 8 days!
I do wish Carnival would stagger their days. Nearly all of the itineraries are some variation of sea day, back to back ports, sea day.

The other change that no one is really talking about is that any alcohol that is brought onboard (other than the one bottle of wine per person) will be confiscated and thrown out. It used to be held and returned at the end of the cruise.

There is an elephant in the room you need to address very soon... A passport and birth certificate are identities for people. I would contact the nearest Passport Agency, or get forms online and report the passport lost. The two forms you need are:
DS-11 (Passport replacement)
DS-64 (Statement Regarding Lost or Stolen Passport)
Both of these forms can be obtained from:
http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english/passports/forms.html
I would also contact the three credit reporting agencies and get copies of credit reports immediately and place a security hold on all requests for credit.
By the way, assuming two weeks to get a stamped birth certificate and 6 weeks to get a replacement passport, you should have no problems at all.
This!!
The official government website to request a free copy of each credit report once a year is annualcreditreport.com

What a deal! Last cruise it was over $20 for a 24 pack of water. I still thought it was worth it for the convenience of not having to find a store near the port and then lug a case of water around. I just bought two 12 packs even though we don't sail until next February. Thanks OP for the tip.

My daughter and I did this the last time we were in Grand Turk and we had a great time. It was so much fun. They do list the prices on their website. It is the same company the cruise ship uses. We actually just booked through Carnival, but I used the price guarantee to get the cheaper price. My daughter was 13 at the time so she would have been an adult price by Carnival, but on the companies website kids aged 13 are still considered the children price.
Did you price match to the Sunset Tours?

We loved the Carnival excursion we did- Allura Catamaran Stingray Swim. We don't usually do ship excursions but chose to since it is a tender port. The trip out to the sandbar was so beautiful. The water color was stunning. It was a great experience to interact with the rays. I highly recommend.

Hi! It looks like you just came off the Splendor. How did you like it? We are sailing on her Monday, May 18th. Are there any tips you think might be helpful and also, it looks like you purchased the drink package. Are they very strict on the 15 drink limit? We're still trying to decide. I'm not a big drinker but my dh will drink beers in the daytime and mixed drinks at night.
Thanks in advance.
As others have said, they are strict with the 15 drink limit. As for the Splendor, we were really impressed. It was our first Carnival cruise and was way above our expectations. The crew was incredibly welcoming and the environment really fun. The food was delicious and I liked the art deco decor (the pink isn't as bad as you've heard :p ).
Enjoy your trip!

Some reviews says you cant purchase on first day if thats true than it may not be worth it as we will be at port on sat for at least 1/2 day.
Thank you
Mrs. W
If you are sailing from Texas you can't purchase it the first day because of state law.
Basically if you drink about 6-7 drinks a day it is worth it. And remember, that's on average. So if you have 3 drinks on a port day and 10 drinks on a sea day that's still averaging 6.5 a day and breaking even.

yes its free. just go to the spa desk hand them your sail and sign card and ask for a locker key. the steam room and sauna are in the locker room and are same sex only.
to get to the co-ed hot tub walk past the showers and the steam and sauna room and go out the back door it will lead you to the hot tub. when you are done give back the locker key and you will get your sail and sign card back no charge.
This is so helpful. Thank you!

Used these on one of my last cruises. In a pinch, wives and daughters in the cabin with me, I would grab clothes after a short day and shower and change in the SPA, and meet them for dinner.
Saved time, when we were short on it. :p
Hehehe. I'd be short on time if I had "wives" too. :p

Thank you!

I know the Pride does not have a Cloud 9 Spa and have seen several people post about being able to use steam rooms for free even if not getting a spa treatment. Is this correct?
On the deck plans it appears there is a hot tub in the fitness/spa area. Is this also complimentary?
Thanks.

Thanks so much for another detailed review. I read your Splendor reviews before our first Carnival cruise and they were so helpful. And look, now you've helped me prepare for our next cruise.
I love your life philosophy and your reviews make me feel like I'm sitting down having a drink with you.
Best wishes to you and your lovely family, Jeff.

Here we are waiting for the last tender at the Rumrunners Bar…..
This is a brilliant strategy. Hopefully I can convince my wife to do this when we are there in February.
-
one trick is that even numbered cabins are on port (left) side, and odd on starboard. You can remember this because port, left and even all have 4 letters :)
brilliant! I love this
