  1. Thanks for the info. So the picture is pretty much true. I have another family of 5 that hasn't booked yet so I can forward him the info as well. He hasn't decided if he wants a BA or a MA room yet. Sounds like in this case, connecting will be the same for him and his family either way. Thanks for the knowledge and help.
  2. I appreciate the info. Is your example specifically for the Encore for the mini suites? Or is this pretty much standard across the board for adjoining rooms?
  3. Didn't think of that....I don't think that small of a partition would really matter in that case, however, if that's what they do, that's what they do Thank you for the info
  4. I had heard that they would remove the partitions on the deck at request if it was cabins within the same party. Of course what I heard doesn't make it true, hence the question. Why would it be a fire hazard? This is my first NCL voyage but cruise #5 overall but never heard of that as a reason. Not saying you are wrong, just curious why a fire hazard
  5. I was hoping that it was a sliding door AKA pocket door they can slide open so the parents could be in room A and the kids could be in room B and you can still quasi-watch them. Thank you for the picture, I couldn't find one. Do you know if that door would open flat against the wall so you could leave it wide open? Also do you think the bathroom door and the connecting door bash into each other? Looks like the door from the cabin isn't an issue unless the door is open, then it is a very narrow hallway
  6. Did you read my post? I am in one room, family is in room 2, I specifically booked this and I don't care about the noise. I'm just asking where the door is. If you don't know....then kindly do not respond
  7. but where is the door? is it on the wall with the bed? opposite of the bed, where is it? If it is at the foot of the bed, there isn't exactly a lot of room there...
  8. I'm going on the Encore with family with adjoining rooms. Specifically in our case, rooms 12788 + 12790. It shows adjoining rooms. I have been in hotel rooms that are adjoining and there is a wall with a door. Considering cabins don't exactly have a lot of unused wall space, can anyone tell me where the adjoining door is? or a video, picture, schematic, ect? I can't seem to find anything on this. I can't tell if there is a door inside the cabin or do they just remove the partition on the balcony and that is how you go back and forth. Anyone with experience actually using this feature?
  9. your other option is to just utilize facebook messenger or maybe google voice and utilize wifi calling. Usually you can find free hotspots on shore.
  10. It was a negative quirk within the Costco. It wasn't a NCL thing
  11. I didn't think it was possible, but I thought it was worth asking about. I asked my local TA and she thought it could be done. I'm one of those that likes to try wacky ideas. You never know unless you try though. Thought it was worth asking the forum about though.
  12. Here ya go 🙂 So 10% off the cruise fare, plus Group A or Group B. Basically, the Group benefits are the same as the current retail promotions PLUS the 10% off cruise fare PLUS one from the bonus box such as $100 OBC. Plus, the person that headed up the group, that person would get a kick bonus based on a calculation between cabins selected, # of people booked, and dollars spent. I have been told the kick back of anywhere from $500 - $1,000 for 5 cabins. So if all 5 rooms are balconies and the fare price is $2,600, you would save $260 per cabin + $100 OBC vs non-groups if a year out from sailing date. So that would be $360 in savings. Plus if I got the minimum of $500 kick back for 5 rooms, I would PayPal (or whatever every one wants) $125 per cabin. The more kick back I get, the more I would send out to people. In theory, that is about $500 in savings for people in the group.
  13. So basically you are saying, been there, done that, tried that, and didn't work out. Grrr....I don't like that answer, but I get it and that makes sense. I was getting excited about saving double the money but that makes sense.... Thank you for breaking my heart.... 😞
  14. Question about a group. From the info I have, a group is 5 or more cabins. I have 3 cabins for my sailing, but I have another 3 cabins that *might* come and have a total of 6. Does anyone know if I go into my Roll Call, find others that have booked directly with NCL, and then group us all together? Would that work? Group benefits are nice 🙂
  15. See, the person above said it could be a promo, you think it could be an IT thing. I just wish I could know for sure. Be great if I could know for sure. I would hate to tell others in the group, "Do this and this and boom, save lots of money" and then they buy double the certs and the system doesn't allow it. 😞
  16. That would be freaking awesome if that is the case....Do you know where I would find out if true and if so, how long this would be allowed? Like I said, I'm trying to organize a group and one of the families involved have 5 people so they need two cabins. If we could turn $250 x 2 = $500 savings for 2 cabins into $250 x 4 into $1,000 in savings, that would be phenomenal.
  17. I know this has been discussed multiple times and I know the T&C state you can only use one certificate at a time. Sorry to ask, however, the booking website shows something else. I'm looking for clarification from the group. When I go to check out, top left of image shows 2 voucher max, so I click on two. The bottom right shows - $500 twice. Will I be able to get away with this? And yes, I'm only booking 1 room with two people. Right now I'm planning to have a group or 5 or 6 rooms and if this will actually allow this, we could save some good money.
  18. The other thing to mention is the deck placement. From what I have seen, 9th deck and below has shower/tub combos while 10th deck and above has just a shower. So the tub would obviously have a higher barrier to step into to take a shower while the shower floor only has a 2" or 3" to get into the shower. I also believe the shower only has more jets. Best to look at videos for your ship online with reviews.
  19. I actually did. I was about ready to book a room except when the price was supposed to pop up a one number it popped up completely different number and they didn't understand why and I didn't understand why either. Then today I just had my side comparison and this is what I found. What do you think? Am I wrong? Or just kind of weird?
  20. PS. Ideally we would love to be the cabin next door to each other but I realize that one is blue other than the next is red and the alternate so I realize that if I want the red cabins I can't have a sharing wall which I'm fine with but where I go online it won't let me pick two red cabins even though they're both three I couldn't see. I agree sleeping arrangement shouldn't matter but for some reason it does
  21. So to begin, please excuse if this has been asked before, but I could not find the information and I am new to NCL. I've done two cruises on carnival and two cruises on MSC. So I'm looking to book a cruise on the encore next year and we are trying to book two rooms. One room we have two adults and one child so obviously three people, and room number two we have one adult and two children, the same occupancy, 3. Then I go set up a second room and it forces me to jump up a category. it is now forcing me into a plus sign room which on their legend indicates a four-person capacity room with the + sign The first cabin shows that I can have my choice between MA and M4, but the second cabin I only get the M4 choice. It appears that they don't charge by occupancy, appears that they charge by bed. It seems like the first cabin they assume two adults in the big bed plus a sofa bed but in the second room it appears that they are putting one adult in the big bed and then one sofa bed and one Pullman bed Is there a way to do a search so that either a child can sleep with the parent because he's a toddler and they can share a bed or they can split the bed and have a sofa bed and the split bed to make three? I don't really understand if it's the same occupancy why I don't have access to the exact same rooms?
  22. My little boy is a water baby. He loves the water parks. He is 5 years old, but most of the water slides are too big for him. A lot of them have height restrictiones and he is about 2" too short for the big ones. Planning my first trip on NCL and I'm coming over from MSC Seascape that basically had a Great Wolfe lodge with toddler sized 2' pool, smaller watersides, spray guns, the giant bucket, ect. Best I could see was the Breakaway class and specifically the Encore. Any other recommendations that might have anything better or similar on NCL ships? Also, difference between balcony suite vs family suite. I've service though cc and best I could find is family is closer to family activities. However on the Encore I was seeing every other room was a family and then next was just a club. I was looking at 14th deck and for instance 14200 and 14202. One is listed as family, one is just a club. If the reason why it was family was closer to the action, well in this section of the ship, every other room is one thing and then the other so it isn't a location based thing. To compare water parks, here is a link to what MSC has. msc seascape pirates cove - Yahoo Image Search Results
  23. Don't forget that they don't just match other cruise lines. They match hotel, airlines, ect. They matched my Gold status with Marriot. That bumped me up to the second level and I earn points at a faster place. I'm doing my second MSC this weekend and I will be Gold status with them on cruise #3.
