Jim, I followed Norwaylady's review first, and then jumped on yours. Thanks to you both for a great halfway around the world review. The pictures were enthralling and gave me a glimpse into a world I probably won't see in person. Traveling is always an adventure, so thanks for sharing yours.
Merry Christmas and I hope the jet lag is not too bad. Trish

Take this as a win. I never understood why they didn't continue these on Royal Class. Our very favorite balcony, and we call our screened porch the Caribe deck frequently!

Thanks!
I have to say, I have enjoyed your virtual cruise very much. It brought back many memories, especially the sail out in Kotor. It was quite an experience, and one not too many know about. I hope we can all sail in reality very soon.

Thank you
We are sailing 6/16/19, our first time on Summit and first time to Bermuda. Your lovely pictures have really excited me for our trip. The ship looks amazing! I hope your weather holds out....as well as your luck!

Meh
That was my thought as well this week...Xciting deals are not very exciting to me. And the sheer volume of offers for Europe and Alaska is amazing! Lots of offers, prices are still very high.

I'm not sure why you did not think that was a good deal, I would have jumped on it so fast! Now you are on my favorite deck with a caribe balcony. It will be very hard to be anywhere else from now on. You will love it! It changes the whole vibe of the cruise. You always have shade, and sun if you are on the right side of the ship. I am jealous! Enjoy, and pinch yourself on the 3rd day for making that phone call and being lucky enough to get the deal!

Wow, those are some fabulous pictures of a sunset! You are held captive by the beauty though, and it makes getting ready for dinner impossible. I guess that is why late dining is a good option! Loving your review.

The next morning was Veterans Day and a sea day. It was also day 8 when most cruises end and we had another week to go.

Wow!
You really have to know what prevailing prices are, and that is a shame, because some people may book that, and feel they are getting a great deal. Check and re-check your prices. Enjoy your cruise!

I have learned not to pay too much attention to the forecasts. I would fret and moan over bad forecasts, and the weather was almost always better than they said. We did have a bad weather cruise in the Southern Caribbean once, rained every day except Barbados, but still had a great time! Hope it turns out
better than you think!

Thank you very much for the pictures. We have been to Alaska 3 times and have never seen the AB. It's kind of a bucket list thing for me, so at least I got to see pictures! Will have to go to Alaska again, I guess!

So glad you got everything straightened out. Enjoy your cruise!

You are right, that is a deal! $62 per person for the drink package and free wi-fi, hat is unbelievable! Congrats on scoring that!

Good to know, thanks.

It has been a few years since we have been on Princess, but are planing a Canada/New England for the fall. I do remember eating in the HC and ending up with a salad as my meal, because nothing else appealed. And a salad is not my first choice ever!
You may think this is a recent change, but I know it was happening in 2014.

I heard St. John was very damaged by Maria and Irma, so you might want to double check if there will even be excursions available. There may be more info when we board from the excursion desk.

Thanks for the tip. We will be on the Oasis next week, and I was wondering what it might be like. Will wait till 6pm.

Thanks I needed this! A good laugh is necessary these days!

I also tried to book an excursion and had a devil of a time. Why is the web-site so obscure? I accidentally figured it out, but it was not easy. A small explanation would have been very helpful. The IT people need to get someone not familiar with computers to test drive their pages. People complain about the web-site all the time, and I can see why.

Thank you for that update about the room card for the laundry. The change machines never seemed to work properly, and it was a hassle to try to remember to bring a roll of quarters. This sounds much simpler.

Good for you! Enjoy your cruise!

We have been on both ships, and I would recommend the Eclipse. We loved the Corning Glass shows, and we went to almost every one. Had a very bad experience on the Silly, could hardly get a refill of wine at dinner. The service was just lacking, although many others like it. Been on the Silly twice, never again.
-
You are correct, sometimes the prices are higher if you book on board. We were on the Silly, and several excursions were more expensive. We were in Europe, and the excursions were very expensive to begin with. The difference once on board was about $20 more per excursion. We had OBC so we wanted to use that for our excursions, and just paid the higher price. There was one excursion that we did book early and just paid for it before hand. You do run the risk of not being able to book it once on board, so I would do it on embarkation day to lessen the risk of it being sold out. Have a great trip!

I always thought dw meant dear wife, and dh also meant dear husband, but I guess dh could also mean d___ head. Depends on her mood, I guess!
Price Of Beverages/Per Drink

Do you qualify for the Elite Happy Hour? That is the only way I see you would be able to save money by not getting the all-inclusive package. You also get gratuities and some shipboard credit with the all-inclusive, so if you factor that in, the total cost of the drink package is much less than purchasing it alone.
