Bahamas only requires that for cruises starting there. Carnivals testing policy is what we all have to worry about.

I understand that. I leave Saturday, so before Carnivals testing policies kick in. And this is a NEW announcement from the Bahamas. It starts Friday.

  2. Following this story semi-closely.  We are sailing in April 2022 with GC on the itinerary.  I'll be interested to see if they can substitute or if they will rework the entire itinerary.  We are in Jamaica, GC, Cozumel in consecutive days in that order.  There isn't enough time to get from Jamaica to another port in one day and still have Cozumel the following day.

Yeah but I am going from a Spring Break 2020 to a Thanksgiving 2021 to a March 2022 cruise.  March 2022 is three times higher than the Spring Break 2020 cruise and that is going from balcony to interior.  LMAO!  March 2022 cruise is a couple thousand more than the Thanksgiving week cruise and going from balcony to interior.  That is not with gratuities or insurance or anything other than cruise fare.  Yep.  Crazy times!

Couple thousand more AND interior vs balcony?  Steep.

  4. I'll be on the first Magic sailing in August.  I've never had him, never heard of him but after some research I'm far form worried.  From those I've talked to he is a great CD and I think he was on a Dream class ship prior to this so he must have something to offer.

Self Assist are asked to be the first off the ship as to not tie up the hallways with their luggage while everyone else is debarking. While you might be able to self assist later, please be mindful of the other passengers.

    This.

There is a reason why these things are done the way they are.

Why would carnival purposefully reduce capacity without having been instructed to do so directly by the CDC? I don't see why they would. What would be their motivation?? I hope the ship is packed like usual. I love meeting all the FUN carnival types.

My wife and I have been to two concerts last month here in Texas.. the Tiesto concert in Fort Worth had over 10,000 people all packed in the venue. Not a mask in site, and zero social distancing. Why would the cruise care about such things, especially if everyone is vaccinated?

Keep in mind while there may not be restrictions on capacity those onboard employees have not worked in this environment in almost a year and a half or potentially ever.  It's the walk before you run mentality.  They need to make sure they can operate efficiently with new rules, etc. without affecting the customer satisfaction before they open up the floodgates.  That is my opinion at least.

  7. Magic is spectacular.  It's not the biggest ship and certainly not the smallest.  Has most to all of the amenities as the big, mega ships.  I never thought it was crowded and it has my favorite non-suite cabin class with the "large" balconies.  Same price as a regular balcony but 2x the size.

Just wondering does anyone know if August sailings will be at full capacity?

I can't say.  I do know that all the similar cabins in my category have sold out and all of them were available to book.  It's not a lot of cabins but all of them being made available leads me to believe the capacity will be closer to 100 than 50.  The wild card is are that many people booking to cruise so soon?  Just because capacity is 80% doesn't mean they will fill all of those rooms.

I don't quite grok why that other site is popular (assuming you are talking about Zuckerberg's college project) - you use your real name (or at least you are supposed to), and is is fairly easy to then get more info about you, which is not really what you want when discussing where and when you are cruising (and therefore possibly leaving your home unattended).  Isn't that the primary reason this site (CC) asks you to not use your real name and not discuss too much in person details?

There are ways to protect your information still.  I'm not worried about my home.  I have cameras, security systems, neighbors and house sitters for all of that.

If I were to poll the passengers on a cruise ship who's heard of or is a member of CC vs the other it would be pretty clear why there is no activity on the roll calls here.

I segment CC into cruise info, questions, feedback, etc. with the other being the social aspect (obviously).
