  2. I will be in Simi on a silver sea cruise In July They only have one beach excursion, and it doesn’t look appealing to me. Any suggestions for beaches near the cruise port and how to get there?

  5. Rarefied Thanks for the descriptions and pictures. You mentioned you travel solo; I am planning a solo trip this summer . I have aquestion: when you make a reservation in Solaris and the retreat is it a table for one or can you book for two?
  6. We will be receiving a complimentary bottle of champagne with our AMEX card, can we have this chilled and served in one of the outside lounges. On a previous cruise with Silversea our butler arrranged for it to be stored and served from one of the outside lounges/bars.
  7. Chrism23 Thanks so much this is very helpful. Have a great trip !
  8. Chrism I am interested in the same route business class that you booked, previously they only offered BA JFK to Venice which has a stop. Were you able to get the Delta JFK Venice flight and did they charge more for it ?
  9. Thanks for your wonderful detailed review. In another video posted I heard pumped in music in I think in the dusk bar. I hope that is not the norm as I appreciate live music or no music.
  10. We did this trip in July with the Milan extension and loved it. It was very hot but because of my job I can only travel during the summer months. If you have never been to Venice this is really a wonderful way to see it. We were able to go off the boat and explore after hours. All the tours and guides were fantastic. The ship is beautiful and the food and service excellent. My favorite was the island of Burano and a Vivaldi concert in the church where he first performed the Four Seasons.
  11. Thanks to all your input I booked next July on the Sojourn Barcelona to Rome....looking forward to enjoying great cocktails and views.
  12. Thanks for all your input....looks like they offer good options.
  13. We are considering a med cruise on the Sojourn next July. We are not wine people but appreciate a great cocktail preferably outside before dinner, especially in the med. We have gone on Silversea in the med and loved their panorama lounge for cocktail hour and after dinner. Any suggestions or descriptions of great Seabourn cocktails and what venue to enjoy them in?
  14. Hi Lois enjoy your upcoming trip. Thanks for the information. I really like the reviews of cocktails people had in the SALT bar.
  15. I am considering booking a trip on Silver NOVA next summer. Looking at the deck plan I see the SALT kitchen but not the SALT bar. Does anyone know if it is only on the other ships.?
  16. I am planning on traveling with a friend in separate cabins next summer if one of us had to cancel for a covered reason what options does the other person have? Neither one wants to go if that should happen. Is there type of insurance that could cover that ?
  17. Thanks for this information !
  18. I am interested in a med cruise next summer with business upgrade. We use JFK NY and I see that Delta has non-stop to Lisbon and rome. On my past cruise SS used only BA american. Has anyone booked Delta recently without an enormous upcharge ?
  19. I used their air for our trip to Northern Italy and was very happy with their business class rates much less then if I booked it on my own with a good route.
  20. Just returned from a wonderful trip on Uniworld. Before I go any further I would like to thank a previous poster PapaB and Me for his detailed review of this same trip. I actually printed out his review and used it as a guide when planning this. My comments and review will not be as comprehesive as his and reccomend reading it for useful details. This was my first river cruise, previously I have only done ocean cruises and that has been limited to Silversea. Uniworld delivered on all fronts: service, food and excursions. If you want to see Venice and the surrounding islands this is the way to go. We arrived two days early and stayed in Bellagio on Lake Como which we enjoyed very much. We met the tour in Milan and spent two days there and then onto Venice with a stop in Verona. We arranged our flights through Uniworld and everything went smoothly. Although it was hot Uniworld made every effort to arrange tours in the early morning and always had water and cool towels available upon our return.
  21. We have a return flight Air France from Venice to JFK in August. The layover is 2 hours at CDG. With the current chaos at airports is that enough time ?
