I guess that the cost isn't important to the original poster. No reply so far

Yes, agreed. But we still don't know the price comparison from the original poster. That will help make an informed decision as regards value for money

You are incorrect. You are still comparing two different rating systems. A hotel star rating is consider a CLASSIFICATION RATING and not a SATISFACTION RATING. In fact, in Europe, Hotel Class Ratings are generally regulated by the Government, and they speak to minimum requirements that each classification has. It DOES NOT speak to how satisfied government is with each particular establishment.
The Cruise critic editors overall rating is based on his satisfaction level and the average of the sub category ratings-- entertainment, food, etc

Hi all,
My 13-year-old daughter and I will be taking a cruise next year. But we a torn between a Princess cruise and a Celebrity cruise. Both are a 7-night Western Caribbean escape with 4 ports of call.
Princess itinerary:
Sun: Depart from Ft. Lauderdale
Mon: Princess Cays, Bahamas
Tue : At Sea
Wed: Falmouth, Jamaica
Thurs: Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Fri: Cozumel, Mexico
Sat: At Sea
Sun: Return to Ft. Lauderdale
X Cruise itinerary:
Sat: Depart from Miami
Sun: Key West, Florida
Mon: At Sea
Tues: Costa Maya, Mexico
Wed: Cozumel, Mexico
Thurs: Georgetown, Grand Cayman
Fri: At Sea
Sat: Return Miami
The Princess cruise is on the Regal Princess and the X cruise is on the Equinox. This is our first cruise so all opinions and advice is helpful.
Thanks
Pray tell us the price of both Cruises for the same category cabin

A lot of times, the cost of flying is so high, people do two cruises.
There are a lot of reasons to do B2B, and repeating shows as a negative isn't a big deal.
Most ships have more than 2 production shows- so it's possible that they are constantly being rotated- so you could see 3 or 4 in a B2B situation.
But once you've seen them, that's it.
We've sailed on the Adventure so many times, I think we've memorized some of the shows. It's still fun.
What are the reasons please? I don't believe that flying is more expensive than Cruises

Each Cruise critic review gives the editors overall rating (and average rating of all the passengers too).
While galaxsea.com gives the equivalent of the hotel star rating

Cruise critic average ratings. But I think that this below is a better guide http://www.galaxsea.com/ratings.html#cruiseships

You mean 2-3 guest performances will be different. But the 4 main in house Production shows will be the same

I read the hotel star ratings are--
Costa 3*
Carnival 4*
Royal Caribbean 4.5*
Celebrity 5*
Princess 6*

We are doing a 28 night Costa cruise and I heard that there is entertainment EVERY NIGHT!
4 weeks, so 16 shows and 10 guest performances?, I wonder.
Also, 1 crew show & 1 passenger performance.

Celebrity is rated 5* and Princess 6*. So, Princess should be more expensive. The Celebrity itinerary is more interesting. What is the cost of each for the same type of cabin?

I wonder why people do back to back Cruises to see the exact same shows
-
Only problem is that if you cruise the same ship again (back to back Cruises) or even after 1 year, the shows will be exactly the same! Only some guest performances will differ

20.00 the previous night on Costa Mediterranea or MSC Splendida? We need to disembark MSC SPLENDIDA quickly. I don't think Costa allows boarding 1 night earlier (for free)

Thanks, I will follow your advice and do both. We will need to leave MSC SPLENDIDA by 8am to make sure we board Costa before 10am

Then the passport stamping must have been done the previous day, when MSC Fantasia arrived in Dubai

Just wondering if 7n is enough to fully explore and enjoy all the activities and facilities on such a large ship MSC SPLENDIDA

Also wondering if I should do a 2nd week on the huge MSC SPLENDIDA or switch to Costa Mediterranea, for different shows, entertainment and activities

Thanks, was immigration done in the morning of disembarkation or the previous day? How much time did arrival immigration take at Dubai?
How much time is required for disembarkation at 9am?

First time cruiser question about entertainment on Royal Caribbean

I was wondering whether to do a 2nd week on MSC Splendida. B2B, since 7 days may not be enough to fully experience all the facilities, entertainment and activities on such a large ship. But, on this forum, I read that all the main in house Production shows will be the same and even some guest performances will be the same
