The chocolate chunk cookies are TO DIE FOR. Seriously. We also always buy a bottle of liquor for the room.

Wife and I LOVE Jamaica! We walked outside the gates by ourselves and never felt in danger.
We also saw a truck full of armed guards in Cozumel. In a truck with a mounted .30 no less.

When I first joined a handful of years back, the CC meet and greets weren’t bad. My wife and I have a few friends from those days.
Now Facebook rules the day as far as scheduling events and seeing if you have anything in common with your fellow sailors so you don’t waste your time hanging out with some crankwad on the first day or two. And as much as we hate to admit it younger folks like me and a lot of pax just aren’t interested in an event with a bunch of anonymous random people.

Most people on here are very cheap. That’s why I tip big and often.
Hey man we REALLY appreciate you picking up the slack. Especially bringing it to our attention. You da man!

Have fun on the other cruise line.

I'm not sure how old you are, but I have a theory that Carnival is gearing themselves towards "younger" cruisers these days. My husband and I fall on that blurred border between GenX and the Millennial generation at just turning 40 this year. (I've seen us referred to as the 'Oregon Trail' generation.) Our 40 looks nothing like our parent's 40. We could not care less about chocolates on our pillows, the live shows, the menus in the MDR as we don't dine there, tablecloths, etc. We want good, strong drinks in the bars, current live music throughout the ship, and an all around party atmosphere. I do not mean for this to be snarky in the least, but maybe look for a line that caters more to an older crowd? Even if you're not "older", maybe that's more to your liking? Just my 2 cents. :)
This. We’re turning 35 this year and I echo your sentiments.

More card carrying members of the me generation.
We learned from our parents...you guys.
Attitude is a reflection of leadership.

The entitlement was VERY high on our sailing as well. We aren’t ones to judge because nobody knows what anyone is going through any given day, but we had the conversation a couple times that no wonder people think us younger generations are rude; we we raised by all the people on this ship. Lol
In all seriousness, pack an extra dose of patience on these longer Journeys sailings. If you go to bed after 9pm, prepare to have the ship pretty much to yourself. The upside to this is my wife and I often took out Bluetooth speaker to the hot tub to jam out and relax.

In the Miracle’s defense, it’s an amazing ship. I think the PC itineraries are more of a mature crowd and prefers a different kind of fun over a hairy chest contest.

Yeah, my wife and I are 34, and it was extremely difficult to even brush into people our age on board. Out of the 14 days we maybe saw about 50 other people between 25-50. A lot of younger people just can’t swing either the days off or the cost or both. We consider ourselves lucky to have flexibility in our vacation days.

We went on the two week repo through the Canal in January and the average age on board was announced as 67. There were exactly four kids under the age of 18 on board. There were 400 diamonds and 700 platinums. We had one lecturer who did five or six topics. During the transit of the Canal itself there was an announcer for the first couple locks then the commentary died down. They showed movies in the lounge on sea day afternoons. The WiFi was surprisingly decent. As far as sea day activities, the crew does a great job of keeping people busy if they so choose to be. Just like any other cruise in that aspect.
It’s a great trip but two weeks is a long time to be away from our dogs and home. That said, we look forward to our next long trip in 2019. The last couple days we get anxious to get home, but it’s so worth it.

"I have a friend who just called me"
it was not the OP's problem it was a friend.
So how did board, with what documentation?
It was a joke, guy. Hence the laughy face.
I forgot we’re all business here on CC.

The real question is, how much does one have to pay to plug their phone in to the AUX cable to the pool music?
Let’s get down to Kendrick Lamar, Jim Jones, J Cole, Lil Pump, NWA, and a little Cardi B for good measure.

and the OP is nowhere to be found
Because she’s the one who needed the info, and is desperately trying to get on a ship at the moment. Give it time. [emoji23]

If the previous post of 80k a year is accurate, the math on that is absolutely terrible. Obviously there would be work hour variables, but let’s say a CD works 16 hours any given day on a ship, seven days a week while they’re onboard. That’s 112 hours a week. If they get eight weeks off a year, all the math still works out to about $16.23 an hour salary. No wonder there’s turnover.
I’d bet most people do it for the love of it and the travel benefits.

Two things stick out for me personally. First was a rather large gentleman who would scratch his butt and private area then take a whiff of his hand. He did it like three times. Second was a guy who had on small swim trunks and his junk was hanging out one of the legs as he sat down, and he never noticed. At least that one was kinda funny but the dude sniffing his hand was downright disturbing.

I played a ton of pinball growing up.
I still bounce off the walls to this day, although it’s mainly reserved for when I drink.
-
I played the arcade game Tapper a lot growing up and now I drink beer, so some of it does translate to adulthood...

No, I'm not. It WAS a rumor that has been dispelled. I'm going by the screenshot (post #425) from the social media site you love to cite for your examples.
Here's a thought....let a D/P cruiser in this thread tell us if they had early access to their cabin on their next cruise.
Maybe this website would be better named....Cruise Conspiracy.
No. Cruise Rumors.

What’s a designer sandwich? Like a Prada Ham and Cheese?
-
People are seriously going to argue over what is or isn't "allowed" on a cuban sandwich? And they thought debating over birth certificates was a joke. Plenty of foods out there are changed based on the region in which they're made. It doesn't make it wrong.
Some people are all too happy in their bubble.
-
The Cuban can certainly contain salami, as Homosassa has pointed out a couple times now; once with a reference.
Just because you’ve never heard of it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Lol
-
What are the ingredients of the Cuban, if I may ask? Is it a Miami style or Tampa style?

I think it comes down to this - When you decide to go out for steak, would you choose Smith & Wollensky for a 16 oz boneless ribeye ( $54) or Texas Road House for 16 oz boneless ribeye for $22?
Some would say the Texas Road House is fine and the price is right - others would laugh and say there is no comparison between the two. Texas Road House fans should always save their money and eat in the MDR. For the the person who is willing to spend twice as much and thinks they can tell the difference, the Steakhouse on board is a steal. Just my opinion.
I wholeheartedly disagree. My wife and I don’t like the steakhouse on the ship because it IS Texas Roadhouse quality at best. We have restaurants like Del Frisco’s and The Buckhorn Exchange in our city, and for nearly the same price as on the ship you can get a cut of meat TO DIE FOR here.
Food is pretty subjective so I’m not surprised someone thinks an on ship steakhouse should even be mentioned in the same breath as a place like S&W or Del Frisco’s.
How do you carry your sign and sail card?
