  1. Nope, not the point all. Sharing information to help others is the point. Many people may not know that two cabins share a view between lifeboats when looking at the deck plans.

Because they don’t. I visited our neighbors in 4130 and it had not even close to the same view as 4132 or any of the other ones that are truly in between lifeboats. We might have to agree to disagree on this one. I did just spend 14 days on her, but you’re definitely right.

  2. wow, before we had to cancel it was completely sold out

Oh yeah, we were all surprised. Adam the CD mentioned it a few times over the course of the sailing. The captain even mentioned it once when he thanked us for our patience for getting into Cabo late due to the overwhelming amount of provisions that needed to be loaded in LB. You could really tell too. Always, and I mean always open seats at shows even when coming in last minute, never a wait for the MDR or brunch (except for the last sea day of course), and at most waited about five minutes for any food. The most telling part was during the Canal transit. Tons of open space to view the Canal on any deck either side of the ship. Never a wait at the bar, and the only port we waited to get off the ship was Cabo due to arriving late and pretty much the entire ship needing to get off at the same time for tours. It was quite nice crowd-wise, or lack thereof I should say.

  3. Tom, missed you on Miracle repo cruise a couple of weeks ago. I agree Liverpool was probably the best band we’ve seen on over 40 cruises. We are back on Miracle in May. Too bad they won’t be there. See ya

Went to Pizzanista at 11 and they were closed with a note saying they wouldn’t open til noon! We were really bummed about it. We’re on Elation in September and Dream in January.

I digress; the singer for Liverpool was ridiculously on point. I usually wouldn’t say this, but I’d book a ship they were on again for sure. Listening to them with a few drinks in the pub were some of the best nights we had.

  4. Been on Disney, Royal, and Carnival. We stay booked on Carnival strictly because of price to cruise more often. That said, even if we could afford it, we most likely would stay with Carnival because we enjoy the attitude and feel of everything. The vibe seems to be a little more vacationy which my wife and I enjoy rather than the serious cruisers crowd who can bring down a good time faster than a nuclear bomb.

  5. Recently on the Dream several men wearing shorts and t-shirts in the MDR on an elegant night. "Ladies" were wearing knee length pants and t-shirts, one even wore a tank top. I was offended and this display was just one of the many reasons this was my last Carnival cruise.

Gotta admit this made me chuckle. Wife and I dress up for formal evenings but I couldn’t care less what someone else wears. Being offended by women in capris and a tank top is rich. Maybe Carnival should enact Sharia Law and make women cover all skin including wearing a burka?

Maybe try to enjoy your trip and your significant other’s company instead of judging everyone you deem underneath you. Man, baby boomers...lol

  6. The burger in and of itself is pretty decent with the SMC. But I think the real allure comes with the toppings bar. If you’re a plain Jane ketchuper, which I suspect a lot of the haters are, there really isn’t that much to write home about.

But give me a single with a double pig patty loaded up with extra sautéed onions, pickles, and maybe a little extra crumbled bacon on top, and it really is the best burger I’ve had next to Tommy’s in Southern California.

  7. my Kindle is just a reader, so only need wifi if downloading a book, which would take hours. The Value plan is just a messaging platform, it does not access the interent

Believe it or not, you can use it for Google searches as well. You won’t be able to open any results, but you can easily find info like addresses, flight times, or news searches.

Also, my wife used it on the last sea day of the Miracle repo (which I believe you were on as well) to buy early bird check in on Southwest.com. So the Value plan isn’t quite only a messaging platform. Try it your next cruise; I bet you’ll be pleasantly surprised. :)

  8. Wife and I enjoy the food in the steakhouse, but not how long it takes. No exaggeration, it took two hours and 53 minutes the only time we went during the Miracle repo last week, and we were only one of maybe six tables even occupied.

We’ll definitely go back, but will have to make sure to let them know we want to be out in under two hours. Three hours is ridiculous.

  9. This past August on the Imagination my wife and I were able to watch the season finale of Game of Thrones through HBOGo with minimal buffering issues. We were pleasantly surprised. This was with the highest tier plan.

    YMMV
