You can have a proctor race 🙂 see who gets finished first.

Given the potential wait times I don't see how any other route makes sense for a couple, or a whole family for that matter...

If I hear that wait times are long close to the time we need to do this, we may stay up late the night before and log on after midnight because that would technically still be two days before we cruise.

Some folks using CVS have reported that their appointments have been canceled at the last minute, either because of a staffing issue or test supply issue. So even appointments need a backup contingency plan. 🤣

That is what we ran into for the rapid tests so decided to do the BinaxNow tests.  Fingers crossed we'll both have positive tests on the 15th before we fly.

That's not how I read it. Just my WAG, but it seems as though they're trying to make it easier for all the people who remain confused about which tests are acceptable. This is a complicated time to travel, and people want travel to be easy. If it's too difficult, people will cancel. I guess we'll find out on the 8th. Too bad we can't set up a betting pool😂

I agree with you.  There will be too many who have already purchased a test which is approved by Celebrity for them to suddenly say it cannot be used.  I think that Celebrity is just adding another option to make it easier for passengers to get tested in a shorter time period.

at 5pm, the cruise director came on the speaker and said 67 people have not done the muster drill. (sail is 6pm)

they were supposed to have completd the muster drill by 4pm.

also, unlike the 8/27 cruise, there's no more stickers on the card to prove you've done the muster drill.

wonder why they got rid of the muster stickers.

and for that matter, no longer use the tracelets???

Do they have another way of tracing those who are possibly at risk because they were close to someone who tested positive or are they just giving up on quarantining?

Thanks for the information.    I jotted it down and will make sure we enjoy those first couple beaches.   Is it pretty safe to drive a golf cart around.    Iain thinks I'm nuts... but we all knew that already .

We are still up for the golf cart race.  😄

Bon Voyage!  I'll happily be watching sail away knowing that we'll be on the next time it leaves FLL.

As @helen haywood mentioned you need 2 separate Navica accounts.  I tried to share with my husband but the proctor would not allow this when we did our tests so my husband had to disconnect, create his own Navica account, then log back in to start the process again.

If he had his account set up beforehand, would they allow you to do one after the other?

Could you share with the expiration date on your six pack is when you get them?  We have cruise scheduled in November, January, and February. One six pack would solve all my problems if they don't expire until February.

If you don't need them until Nov, I would wait.  The ones we received last week expire on Jan 5 so they'll get us through Sept and Nov cruises but will expire before our trip to Aruba in Feb.

I checked in for November 28 cruise on Equinox at 1:30 am. I got a Noon arrival time. 🤷

We're also on this cruise and I thought it was interesting that they only had three time slots open which are now gone.  Our Sept Equinox cruise had openings from 12:00 until 4:00 from the start and later added 11:30.  It's good you found another cruise after having the Summit canceled.

Our ship leaves on a Saturday.  We leave 6 AM Thursday to fly to Ft. Lauderdale.  How am I ever going to get a test??  I am realizing for sure that I may have to cancel. I would have no way of testing once at our hotel.

I am so sorry that this may occur.

If you purchase the home tests, you can take them with you and complete the test when you're in your hotel.  The biggest problem would be if you test positive and you're already down in FL.

A question for everyone that has just received their tests from eMed.  What is the expiration date of your tests?  I have heard some complaints that the tests expire quickly.

We got a 6 pack from emed earlier this week.  It shows an expiration date of Oct 5 but it's extended by three months until Jan 5.  I called to verify this.

That's probably what you should be doing regardless of a 2 or 3 day window.

In addition to catching obvious positive cases, hopefully the test requirements makes people become a little more cognizant and aware of their actions before they cruise. Maybe this year isn't the year to spend your usual XX days pre-cruise in a COVID crockpot like Florida.

We fly on the 16th so we plan on doing pre-testing.  We've been very careful when around others and will be extremely careful during our one night in FL.

@MartinsCruisewell I guess we knew this would probably happen, but it certainly adds an unwelcome timing issue for those of us who don’t live near the port! We had debated whether to drive (from Maryland) to avoid flying, or fly to avoid extra exposure at hotels en route.

We thought about driving for about 5 minutes and both decided it wasn't worth it.  We'll drive to BWI where we can get a non stop flight.  The problem is if you can't get results before flying, you're stuck in FL if you test positive.

  13. ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING TRAVELS

    Dear Guest,

We look forward to welcoming you aboard Celebrity Equinox® for your 9-Night Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao cruise departing September 17, 2021, from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Before we set sail, we would like to provide an additional reminder that Celebrity Cruises has established enhanced COVID-19 testing requirements advised by the CDC for both vaccinated and unvaccinated guests.

As of September 13, 2021, all vaccinated guests are required to present a negative COVID-19 test at the time of embarkation. This test may be taken as either a PCR test or an Antigen test, conducted within two days of boarding the vessel. Each guest is responsible for making their own arrangements with an accredited testing provider as well as covering all associated costs.

Unvaccinated children between the ages of two and eleven years old will be required to bring a negative PCR test conducted within three days of boarding. These guests will have an additional PCR test at the terminal prior to embarkation and on the day before disembarkation. A registration link for required testing will be sent separately. Should a guest be unable to complete the testing requirements, a 100% refund or Future Cruise Credit will be offered

For your convenience we are working on an option with an authorized medical provider to offer home-test kits for vaccinated guests. This testing option will be available to purchase on our website September 8, 2021 and can be delivered to your home in two days to make your testing process quick and seamless. For more information regarding our testing requirements visit our Healthy at Sea web page here.  Guests arriving at the terminal without a negative COVID-19 test result may be denied boarding.

We apologize for any inconvenience. The health and safety of everyone onboard is our number one priority.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Celebrity Cruises at 1-844-418-6824 in North America or (316) 554-5961 worldwide.

    Sincerely,

    Celebrity Cruises

Seems I'm one of the unlucky people exposed to covid positive pax.  Waiting in my room for nurse and security.  Great.

Security has come to make sure I'm me.  His list had quite a few names.

I hope you have a negative test and can get on with your cruise. 🤞
