1. It looks like we will be in the overflow port of Ringaskiddy the day we are in Cobh for Cork. Has anyone docked here that could give me information on transportation options into Cork? Was going to just walk around Cobh and enjoy the little port but if we are not even docked there we may just head into Cork. Suggestions and recommendations on inexpensive transportation and things to do would be greatly appreciated! We leave on our cruise on Friday from Southampton!

We are on your cruise, Princess Ruby May 23 from Southampton .

We were so disappointed not to be docking in Cobh ! We booked a tour through eCoach ,very reasonable ! It goes to Cork, Blarney, and Kinsale.

You're welcome to join our roll call group May 25, Sunday, at 2pm in the Skywalkers Lounge for our Meet & Mingle !

See you on the ship ! Lots of folks from Texas !:)

2. We leave for our British Isle, 12 night cruise next week. I am concerned about getting a good nights sleep on such a port intensive cruise ! I've read that the beds are hard as cement

Can anyone confirm this ?

Also I read where mini suites beds are more comfortable. Any truth to that ?

There are mini suites available on our ship, but would be quite upset if I booked one, only to find those beds were hard too !!

Please comment. Thanks ahead !!:)

3. Do you know if the unlimited soda is out of a fountain/machine or are they cans of soda.

Does the fridge in the room come stocked like in a hotel - where you're charged if you use anything? Or is it empty for you to use as you wish?

Thanks

I think the stocked refrig is just for Elite members. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The soda pkg is fountain drinks. Not that great, IMO.

4.
Not to take over, but the Crown grill was great! We were on the Ruby over Easter and went there formal night. There were people in button up casual shirts, normal dining room attire. I wore a shirt and skirt, nothing too fancy. I was surprised to see families with kids. Most were well behaved, but there was a 2 yr old that wanted to run around.
We had the scallop, tiger prawn, and lamb loin appetizer split between us. The scallops were perfectly cooked. Then I had the balsamic salad, my husband the black/blue soup. I could only take 1 spoonful of the soup, very strong! The waiter recommended the ribeye over the filet, very great choice, very marbled and great flavor. He brought us 8 lobster tails to start with along with asparagus, mushrooms, creamed spinach. All was great! The lobster tails were grilled so they had the fire taste! This was our anniversary dinner so they brought us a chocolate cake, then a dessert sampler. I would highly recommend going, you'll not be disappointed. I have pictures of all our food, but still haven't figured out how to upload, everytime I try from my computer, it says security problem :(
Funny side note, our room steward, Marian, said that he goes to the Crown Grill to eat every couple of months as a treat, he has to pay the same as us, but says it's worth it!
THANKS !! Sounds wonderful ! Glad you had such a great anniversary dinner ! Thanks for " taking over " :-D
5. With Anytime Dining, if there is a significant wait, are you given pagers ?

These were given out on another cruise line and we could wait in one of the bars. We didn't mind waiting at all. When our pager went off we just took our drinks into the dining room.
