  1. the Bionic bar replaced the champagne bar on Harmony :(, I don't recall it ever being really noisy either.I don't believe its a live music venue either.

Thanks. I realized that after I looked at the deck plan online instead of the one in the brochure. I think I will still try to get a higher deck since there are quite a few JS left.

  2. Ok, I think we will be happy on deck six, but we are above the Champagne bar. I have sailed on the Oasis but have never been in that lounge. Is there live music in there at night that might be a problem for us? The cabin is across from FOCUS and I don't think that will be an issue.

  3. We were on your sailing too and loved everything about it. We had a party of seven including our 12 y/o grandson. He was very excited about the kid's club (he had a fantastic time two years ago) but this time he was in the 12-17 year old age group and he didn't feel comfortable in that group. I also was surprised that the zip line on the last day had short lines. The jazz band on deck four did a fabulous set of Beatles songs one night. The warm chocolate cookie was to die for and our server, Leoncia, brought more out the last night too. We weren't constantly bombarded for the ten rating and my husband said the post cruise survey specifically wanted to know if we had been and by whom. Great cruise overall and we are looking forward to the Harmony the end of September.

  4. We dined there last week and I agree the risotto was very good. Oddly, my husband and I both had the filet, and we weren't wow'd by it. It tasted like it was seasoned with Italian seasoning. I guess I am in love with the taste of a wood fire grilled steak like I get at a steakhouse back home. The charge was $29pp on board, but if we had booked in advance online there was a discounted fee of $21. The Tiramisu and Olive oil cake with lemon sorbet were very tasty.

  5. We also have stayed at the NASA La Quinta a couple of years ago and they offered a rate that included a 40% off parking voucher. I looked into it for our Oasis sailing next month and on the Port Canaveral website, where they used to list the hotels participating, says they no longer are offering that program. We also like to get in our car and get on the road.

  6. I booked a Western HOS cruise leaving in September a little over a week ago and I was able to reserve all our show times. I haven't been able to reserve MTD times yet. It sounds like you know how to book them under the Cruise Planner since you booked your dining. I can't imagine why you can't book your entertainment.

  7. Cruise documents. I laid them on the bed to pick up something else and left them there. We had only gotten about ten miles down the road when I realized what I had done. Never again. I have an app on my Kindle that is customized and has worked well for me. I should have used that when we went to Disney earlier this month and forgot socks to go with my sneakers. Luckily hubbie overpacks and I have big feet.

  8. I will admit that disembarking from the OASIS on May7th was my worst disembark yet out of 4 from the same port (Twice Oasis and Twice Allure).

There was zero organization. I found that if you were assertive enough you could work your way through though. Probably took us about an hour.

That was our sailing too, and I have to agree with you. Part of our problem was that we were staying in a Junior Suite (two couples). Embarkation was wonderful, separate check-in and waiting area. When we got off there were signs for suite guests so we showed our cards and were directed to a suite dedicated escalator and luggage area. Our luggage was actually on the other side of the terminal. They let us get our luggage and bring it back to the dedicated suite custom line but two out of the four personnel guarding the suite line didn't know what was going on. They let our friend's wife get in that line but didn't want to let the rest of us in.

I saw several other passengers clutching their blue sea pass cards also heading out to find their luggage amongst the masses. I think this was the first sailing with the new Royal Class. I guess JS is considered suite during embarkation but not debarkation. The regular line was huge at 9:30 and was disorganized. We were thankful that they finally let us go thru suite customs.

  9. They are single use Pike's Peak filter packets. I had to add more water as it was brewing to get a whole cup. It was very strong. It's a really tiny cheap plastic coffee maker and most times it dripped all over the counter. I also had to leave a note for our cabin steward to leave more. I was a glutton for punishment. You might be able to bring your own filters, cut them down and use your own grind. It only made a cup.

  10. People build up a tolerance (or so they think). My step-daughter did until she never woke up one morning. She had been drinking all afternoon and into the evening. She had a BAC of .314. She was 31 and left behind a husband and 5 year old son. The body can only process so much alcohol at a time. Eat and drink a glass of water for every glass of alcohol consumed. It would have been her 36th birthday next week. It won't be a "fun" birthday.

  11. Sorry this is going slower than I hoped. (catching up at work and home) later today I'll have Monday the first sea day and our 35th anniversary up. Hint: I'll have to wait till tonight to get some pictures ready, I need to do screen captures from our personal DVD copy of Love and Marriage.

I have some photos I took of you and Gina during the Love and Marriage show. I will post them when you do that day's review.

  12. We dined at CK last week on the Oasis. I had to knock on the door because our card would not scan to open it. I asked if wine was included and our waiter said no. We had brought glasses of wine from a bar in with us. Every night before dinner we would stop and get wine, part of our 3 per person, and take it into the MDR, also Chops.

  13. It is funny reading all the speculations about our situation. I am not a single traveler. We used my husband's cc for our Seapass onboard charges. I am aware that the grats are for two and, no, we did not book a future cruise. No body at RCI could tell me what those POSTED charges were. All they could see were our charges on our folio. As of this morning the rest of the pendings are gone and RCI has credited the $249.29. One small charge of $13.15 is still there. There were five charges, between posted and pending, that totaled over $400 that weren't ours. Actually it was around $300 on Saturday then grew another $100 on Sunday.

Let's put this thread to bed. Whether it was fraud from somebody who had access to our cc number, or a series of several accounting errors, I will never know. I seriously doubt that RCI will contact me about what happened. I would be curious to know how onboard RCI employees pay for their purchases. That's is all I have to say about that speculation. The moral of this story is that RCI is a business, once you turn over your cc number anything can happen. Keep track of your charges and compare with your cc company as soon as you can. We would like to sail on the Allure next time. We are seriously considering paying grats up front and paying our folio with cash and not a credit card.

  14. There was a post a few months back with someone having an issue with his account being overdrawn because he used his debit card on the seapass account, and RCI put a few different $500 holds on his debit card during the course of the cruise. I believe it all worked out in the end when the holds were lifted. But he was very worried--and fellow posters (myself included) weren't particularly kind because his "story" seemed convoluted at the time. But in retrospect it sounds like the same thing happened to you: RCI put additional holds on your account each time you used your seapass for a purchase. It's only been a week. Give it another week or two and it should all be settled. Those pending charges won't go through. They were just a hold, not a charge, and that's why they're still pending rather than processed. Good luck!

Yes, I am dumbfounded at the number of people that think I am an idiot or lying. I know the difference between pending and posted. I only charged our gratuities and used my Seapass once for a $25 spa tip. Our folio charge of $131.30 was posted along with an unauthorized charge of $242.29 and another for $13.15. There are still three pending with the largest being $111.70. Actually the amount increased $100 from Saturday to today. That is a lot of accounting errors. The pendings didn't concern me until they turned into posted charges.

  15. Were the charges from RC or some where else? Not so sure that was answered.

OP did you set a travel notice and were you notified of possible fraud charges?

I just arrive home from South Africa, like much of the world, the CC never leaves your sight on a transaction, one CC, new chip card was skimmed, BA notified me, I called NO PROBLEM. even could still use CC but I did not.

We did not have internet on the ship. I get alerts when the card is not present. On Saturday when I checked my email there were nine pending charges listed as being from the Oasis. I was not overly concerned until I saw that some had actually posted this morning including the one that matched our folio balance.

  16. OMG, the drama and such a misleading thread name!! You wasted two hours on the phone regarding PENDING charges?

EXCUSE ME!!! Cannot you not read? I said $250 POSTED charges and there are still pending charges. I did not use a CC on board, only our seapass cards. I had gratuities and one spa tip and some OBC for a total of $131.30 on our folio. Several charges were made onto our card on several days, the highest one for $111. RCI actually called our CC to verify that these were not our charges. We had a three way conversation. I am not the "drama queen" you seem to think I am.

  17. We just got back from the April 30th sailing on the Oasis. I started checking our credit card statement on Saturday and noticed nine pending charges from the Oasis. Today several charges are posted with a few still pending. These charges amount to $400 above what we had spent onboard. Only our legitimate charges are reflected on our final folio statement. We spent two hours with RCI and our bank this morning to dispute these charges. I get an email each time a charge is made without the card present and I alerted RCI to the amount, date and exact time. They said they would forward it to security.
