  1. I want to book the Meraviglia or Seaside over Thanksgiving 2019. I checked MSC’s website for itineraries, they are not out currently. Most other cruise lines already have their cruises released for Thanksgiving of 2019. Does anyone have any info on when these cruises will be released? Thanks for your help in advance.

  2. I’m cruising on the Norwegian Bliss on August 18, round trip from Seattle. I found some great deals on exurscions though Alaska Shore Tours. Does anyone have experience with them? Is this a scam? Will we get back to the port in time? I normally book through the cruiseline but I don’t want to pay what they are asking for. They are charging two to three times as much! Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  3. If you are looking for a cruise to Alaska in 2019 for families I would recommend ceckijg out the Norwegian Bliss or Ovation of the Sea. These ships have plenty of activities for kids ranging from go karts to bumper cars to circus school. I just checked they are about $4000 for a family of four in August.

  4. I was looking at booking a thanksgiving cruise for next year on the Royal Princess. My family needs WiFi to do business work onboard. We would love to sail on her due to her amazing itinerary. Does anyone have experience with Royal Princess’s WiFi during a holiday cruise. If so how did it spare? Thank you for any input in advance!

  5. Major flooding due to possible 20" rain in some Texas areas...but major hurricane? Forecast calls for winds just over the bare minimum level one of 80mph for calling a tropical storm a hurricane.

    According to this forecast, wind and surge impact is expected south of the port area. The port main threat to the port area is from torrential rain and flooding.

    I think of a major hurricane, I think of a class 4 or 5 type storm.

    A major hurricane is classified as a category 3,4, or 5. You were correct about the 15-20" of rain possible. I'm surprised Carnival has not made any announcements, I would expect one to come later today or tomorrow. It's going to be very difficult and dangerous to enter and exit the port.

  6. Thank you........it is really fun and informative doing the comparisons. I enjoy seeing the additions but, even more so, what they have brought back from some older ships.

    I agree with you about the fewer cabins (although I didn't count :-) As wonderful as a lazy river would be, I believe it would be too cumbersome to drain (cleaning and in high seas) They would have to have a pretty high fee to keep the lines manageable.

    Don't give up on the dueling piano type show; I see at least one venue they could set up for it.

    I don't know about the new ship smell; it will be my first TA, also. There seems to be many repeaters on our roll call, so maybe they can enlighten us.

    Only about 8 more months:ship::cocktail::beer-mug::champagne-toast:

    The Escape has 2094 cabins where as the Bliss will have 2043 cabins. This means that the Bliss will hold 100 less passengers when compared to its sister the Escape. I'm very proud of NCL for building a bigger ship, with more activities, and less people. They are headed in the right direction. Expierience over cost!

  7. All this talk about rooms not being what they seem is making me wonder if i'm really getting what I booked. We booked two of those awesome x700 Cat. O1 rooms on the Bliss after seeing how great they were on the Escape with the same description and similar Cat. number (O2), and virtually the same Sq ft. (161-239). but now i'm worried it might not be the same. There is only one of the Category on floors 9-13, but it also says this category also exists on deck 5, but I cannot see it. the Sq. Ft. range for this category is from 240-367, and I assumed the smaller 240 cabins was the ones on deck five, but as I look at the deck plan more it looks like 9700 is drawn bigger than the rest of the x700 rooms, and maybe only that room is the 367 sq. ft. regardless both of the renderings of the x700 floor plans seem to be wrong for the Escape compared to the video of room 12700 on You Tube. Can anyone please shed some light on this issue.

    You are getting what you booked for. I am sailing in 13700 on July 21. I was told originally when I booked this that it was 372 sq. ft. It did not look like that on the deck plan, when comparing to 9700. Since booking the cruises 6 months ago, I've called 3-4 times and asked how big the room was just to be safe. I was told the same number every time. I was so doubtful that I asked to speak to the managers, and they reassured every time. Going to make one more final call, once the deck plans are officially released.

  8. I think the larger aft spa will have a much greater demand in the market it's heading to.

    Besides, the go-karts ARE bumper cars the one and only time you ride them before getting banned for life.

    I completely understand, but I was really looking forward to the Galaxy Pavillion. Why couldn't the joy leave from the USA? They should have sent the Bliss to Asia.
