Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I considered staying at the airport, but wanted to be closer to the port on embarkation day just in case something goes wrong.
  2. It's just for the two of us. I can't say for sure, but I think the price is more related to the size of the car vs the number of people. The reason the return is more expensive as there is a Port Tariff of $25.00 but there is also something called PDA Surcharge 30% which works out to another $61.67. Maybe that's like an UBER surcharge pricing where when it is very busy (like disembark), they charge more?
  3. Hello - Just thought I would chime in here. I just finished booking Galveston Limo for private car service to take us from Hobby to Galveston and the night before our cruise in January....followed by a pick up the following Sunday (on Harmony) to go back to Hobby. I got my quote via email and booked, but I had a few questions and gave them a call and the person who answered was very pleasant and courteous. When we return home, I'll be sure to write about the experience. It is expensive, but when you are traveling with someone that has trouble walking and climbing stairs, you sometime have to spend the extra money. Just for your information, for our particular cruise in January it was approximately 165.00 to go to the port and 250.00 to return to the airport. This is a basic tip included but I'm sure we will be giving extra. Supposedly, we are in a Lincoln Continental (I asked as I wanted to make sure our luggage and transfer chair would fit). We just have to work out how to get from our Galveston hotel to the ship on the morning of the cruise.
  4. Thanks to all! We are on RCI Harmony so will check with them at the email that was provided.
  5. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your information. I have been worrying about this to the point I was thinking about canceling, but I dont want to limit my wife's options for travel just yet.
  6. I was hoping someone could help with this question as I will be traveling with my disabled wife who can only manage short distances.without a rest. I am thinking of bringing a transport chair but not sure how I can manage the luggage.
  7. On Getaway 8/5 (week from Saturday). Got my upgrade today 7/28. Went from Oceanview on deck 5 to a Balcony on Deck 13 for $100 x 2 = $200.00 Cheaper than the normal difference in fare. Not a super bargain, but I am happy. Checked the deck plan and there is a floor of rooms above me. A little close to the stairs, but not that big a deal. I'm on a cruise!
  8. I've been trying to purchase this for a couple of days for a cruise in 13 days but so far the IT system has gotten the best of me (can't add to cart)
  9. I'm very sorry to ask this question, but I've looked at the NCL website and I can't find language similar to Celebrity (we took a Celebrity cruise in January) regarding what constitutes 2 days. So for a cruise leaving on a Saturday, does that mean you can take the antigen test any time on Thursday or Friday before the Saturday departure? (leaving from Port Canaveral). Thank you all so much. David
  10. Thanks to this board I called and purchased a pass this morning (209) for upcoming 8/6/22 Getaway Cruise. Got the confirmation and it shows I paid so I should be all set. I forgot to ask the representative if the pass would be included on my room card, or if there would be a card in my room, or if I had to go somewhere to pick it up. David
  11. I'm also looking for a Universal to Port Canaveral shuttle. I would think about UBER but I don't know if they want to drive all the way out there. Hope to see some other replies.
