  1. If this dips below $40, I'll be all-in.
  2. I heard that you can walk up to the water park after lunch and get a 1/2 day pass for cheap. YMMV.
  3. Very similar to when I boarded Odyssey in Europe in August.
  4. I'm sailing on Anthem in January for a ... 11 day cruise (no stops in Canada or Bermuda). My 3 kids under 12 are unvaccinated. At this point I have no idea what tests I should take (based on the current protocols) but I'm hoping that any and all testing requirements will be dropped by then.
  5. Cruising might not be the best vacation for you in this case. Hopefully you will recover soon.
  6. Here's my family: me (1 booster), wife (2 shots), 3 kids ( not vaxed). We all got Covid in January (I assume Omicron, nothing serious). We had a big Europe trip (19 days, with a 7 day European cruise at the end), and my son got Covid on the last day of the cruise (he got it earlier, but he was sick on the last day). We spend time in the cruise cabin, he was sitting between me and my wife during our flight home [we tested after we got home by the way] so I'm sure we would have gotten it ourselves if not for.... Natural immunity. So somehow my son was unlucky, and got it but none of the other 4 in my family had any problems at all. Folks, this is like that cold. Let's stop talking about it.
  7. We were on Odyssey in August at full (above) capacity. They had to close WJ for breakfast on a few days, I think most large cruise ships simply can't handle above capacity.
  8. As long as there's no storm at the departure or arrival port, you'll be find. Usually they fly above most storms, or alter the flight path.
  9. Lots of parents, including this one, pull their kids out of school for cruises.
  10. They only charge the corkage fee once, when opening the bottle. When the bottle is opened, they can't and won't charge the fee again since they don't know who opened the bottle. I never had an issue with this. Ever.
  11. Bring a wine opener, open the bottle in your room and bring it with you. Issue resolved.
  12. I am on Odyssey now and had some excursions canceled so I needed this workaround. - Go to a slot ($0.05?), activate your card as instructed earlier. Load the desired money. - Spin none, once, whatever you like. - Click cash out (ticket will be printed), and select logout - Go to the cashier with your ticket and collect cash if you don’t wager at least 50% your account will be frozen meaning you can’t add funds to the casino so make sure you do the initial load correctly. Not sure if this lasts 24 hours. For the record: I won $24 in the $0.05 slot machine so I converted my non-refundable OBC and made enough money to buy a souvenir t-shirt 🙂
  13. Use USD for on-board but definitely EUR for on-shore. Keep in mind that the e1 and e2 are coins.
  14. And about Greece: no masks anywhere, no testing required for non-boosted passengers. Make sure to get Euros.
  15. Tue we saw Showgirls, Thu The Effectors. Not sure if one of them is the main show. Good question. We were only able to make reservations when we were connected to the ship WiFi, and they sold out quickly. Some observations: - The 4d experience sold out so quickly, I don’t know who got tickets. - The Skypad was fun for the kids, VR wasn’t working Santorini on your own was an absolute disaster. 90 Minutes wait for the cable car so we had to take the donkeys (didn’t want to, but had a private tour waiting). We only had USD so the e60 (e10 X 6) because $100. What a ripoff. Then those poor donkeys, plus the treacherous ride up. Next time, make sure to get off the ship by tender asap. We got tender ticket 47 and we got this 25 minutes after the tender window opened. We had 2 wait on-board for an hour for or number to be called.
  16. On Odyssey now and the ship is packed. Everything is “sold out” so I don’t think the class ship matters. A full Odyssey ship gets close to a full Wonder ship.
  17. Back again: - We are now in Santorini. No additional tests for non-boosted. - I will let you know if masks are still required anywhere in Greece - emed tests: 2 days prior at any time. We sailed on Sunday and took our tests Friday afternoon Italy time. We selected travel as the reason for the test, location outside the US, Italy and Rome as the city - About COVID: you have now idea how packed this ship is. If COVID is around us, there’s no escaping. Personally I am so over COVID (we all had it in January), but I figured to share. Only noticed a handful of people masked out of a capacity over 5,000 in case you are wondering. So excited to go onshore!
  18. One more thing: at sea days and late arrivals they do “brunch” at the MDR where you can have breakfast between 9am-1pm. Highly recommended!
  19. Some answers to questions above: - Food is good, service so-so. Staff works hard but ship is at full capacity and probably understaffed. They had to turn people away from breakfast at Windjammer this morning! - Tips: nothing unusual but if the ship is full consider the MDR for breakfast and later dining seating is packed - We are stopping in Greece, Turkey and Italy. It doesn’t look like they require an additional test for folks without a booster (like my wife). Haven’t seen/heard/read anything. - We took a private car service for the 6 of us from our Rome Airbnb to the terminal. e140 and totally worth it. Don’t know about shuttle buses, sorry! - My arrival time was 12:00 and we arrived 15 minutes early. Doesn’t seemed like anyone cared/asked/checked. Check-in was a breeze. Photo of sunset from yesterday. Beautiful!
  20. Some notes: - Unvaxed kids under 12 need to be tested 1 day prior to sailing, vaxed adults 2 days - I used e-med for all of us. Boxes were damaged in my luggage but the proctors didn’t care as long as the test wasn’t expired - No further testing at the terminal for my unvaxed kids - In the past the check-in crew took photos of COVID cards, they just glanced at them this time - I had a screenshot of the e-med lab report for our party of 6. Again, the staff glanced at them. Didn’t feel like they paid overly attention to anything - Boarding took 15 minutes at most. We have 3 cabins, so 6 bottles of wine in our carry-ons. The Italian security had a blast with this but never asked us for our room numbers or even confirmations - Beautiful ship, very international crowd (not complaining!) but super-crowded! - As someone who has been multiple times on Anthem before, this ship looks like a colorful version of it, with a few minor changes: looks like the robotic bar works much better here. Skynet has improved.
  21. can’t comment on connecting flights but if your final destination is Amsterdam you should be fine. On another matter: I had my emed tests in my checked luggage and the boxes were dented and the seals broken. The proctors (did 6 tests) didn’t care. They ask to scan the expiration date and then ask you to open the box.
  22. It’s less than 100mg so no concerns. Make sure to bring at least one spare test.
