  1. Hell has been made into a tourist stop but if you go to the back parking lot and to the back of that lot you can overlook the rock formations that give that bend in the road the name of Hell. Forget the gift shop & lame pictures.

If going to 7 mile beach, research where you want to be let off by a "taxi" or the overcrowded van. And give plenty of time to get back to the pier as they wait until the "taxi" is full & that includes the isle seats. And traffic can be very slow getting back to the port.

Shopping is friendly but no barging. Great Britain alcohol is a bargain. Rest not so much. Walk a few blocks inland & you may find more reasonable souvenirs.

Watch for cross traffic - they drive the other way.

If wanting to do an island tour or Stingray City, check out local tours on internet & the reviews.

Food prices are very high. Eat a big breakfast on board, carry factory packaged snacks, & eat lunch once back onboard.

Grand Cayman is my favorite port.

  2. WIll do, thank you! Just booked air for Weds. Hard to find a late fight from here to Mobay. Have to take care of paperwork in the morning, so i wont be flying out of here until Weds at 7 am. I'll arrive in FLL then fly to Mobay, will be there at 11AM. then about an hour drive to FLLMTH.

Sending positive vibes that all goes well & you catch up with your family.

  3. I have read on other threads and other internet sites that QU is stretching out the dining time so that there are slots from 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Would not want to eat dinner at either extreme especially 4:30 PM.

Well if it was a day that I slept in and had breakfast at 11:00, I could see doing lunch at 4:30 and dinner at 9:30.:D

  4. This may not be a renovation to the Champagne Bar at all. It looks to me like they've set up an upholstery shop there. When we reflagged the Norwegian Sky to the Pride of Aloha, we set up the Outrigger bar with some large temporary power panels that fed 30 sewing machines and half a dozen band saws. There were two shifts of upholsterers using every one of those sewing machines for nearly 3 weeks.

This thread is very interesting and you have provided such great insight to all of us. Thank you so much!

  5. While you may find it in good fun, some see it as lying. And some may see it as "what are you lacking in your real life that you have to make up stories", and then others who have actually been in that situation totally offensive that someone would claim that achievement when they hadn't earned it.

I personally find over & over that those that put on airs are only blowhards. But if that makes you feel better about yourself - go for it.

  6. We have always enjoyed the traditional dining option that has the same table mates, same servers, & same time. We also enjoyed the variety of specialty restaurants and yet did not like the MTD the one time we tried it on HAL. We also value sailing different lines for different experiences.

So now we have a group cruise booked on NOS with early traditional seating that will be with friends with all dinners in the MDR and another cruise 4 months later on Oasis. Just the 2 of us and want to try a few specialty restaurants.

Considering the differences in the ship's, group vs just us, & now the different dining experiences, we are looking forward to 2 very different cruises on the same cruise line. Kind of like having our cake & eating it too.:D

  7. So.....how again is a work place like a formal dining experience on a luxury cruise liner?

Just don't think Royal Caribbean is a luxury cruise liner. As I have aged, I realize that the feet are the first thing that need to be accommodated for comfort & most importantly safety & health. Really who looks at people's feet in a dinning room?
