So Roz and Jonesbk say you can’t be bumped (or they haven’t been) but the terms and conditions posted by Elaine say it can happen.

Take the conflicting advice for what it’s worth knowing it could happen but likely won’t.

Basically, they think that their own personal experiences mean it can never happen. But that’s not true. In a case like this Carnival can and will move you to another room in the same category if one is available and they need your room for a larger party. This is why I never book a room with a capacity of more than 2.

  2. Just lock it up in your suitcase when you are not using it, if you feel the need to lock it up.  Honestly, I leave mine out all of the time because I'm usually trying to upload photos to Facebook, which takes awhile.  So I leave it to do it's thing and then we go out to dinner or some other activity.  And I've never had a problem.

  3. A cruise is a cruise. Sure, I prefer an itinerary that is taking me to new ports. But at this point, there’s not many ports that I haven’t gone to. In fact, my next cruise is doing all of the ports that I went to on my first cruise. But, there’s always something new to do at a port. And there’s so much to do onboard that I don’t think a cruise could ever possibly be boring. Unless you are unwilling to participate in activities.

That’s a really good point. I think the OP is setting herself up for disappointment booking early appointments that she has a good chance of missing, especially when it appears she doesn’t have any priority boarding status. And getting refunds for missed appointments at the spa is far from a sure thing.

Completely agree. Even if she makes it, why would anyone want to start off a cruise feeling rushed like that? Also, how relaxing is a spa experience going to be when you have to lug around all of your carryon luggage and personal items? Personally, I would book either after muster and plan on going to dinner late, or book for the first sea day. But that’s just me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm somewhat surprised the ship is even offering Spa Services that early on Embarkation Day, given the hectic nature and amount of preparation required on board prior to the Muster Drill and Sail Away.

I think they do it for B2Bers. I don’t think the early appts are meant for people embarking that day. I once scheduled a mani pedi early on change-around day because my nails were looking like crap after a lot of swimming. Was nice to relax in the spa when everyone else was dealing with the craziness of embarkation.

  6. These are the movies for September, though they don’t show all of them in a week. So you won’t know for sure what movies will be shown on your cruise until you are onboard and can check the week’s Funtimes via the Hub app.

    Hello all,

Quick question.  We will be on the Freedom and we are wondering if we need FTTF.  One of the ports is Half Moon Cay.  Would FTTF allow us off the ship on one of the first tenders?

FTTF will definitely get you priority water shuttling. Maybe not the first water shuttle if it’s filled with people who booked Carnival excursions, but priority water shuttling will get you there faster.

I’m excited to finally get to try it. I would hate a plain aft(no shade) but aft wrap seems cool

Definitely on my bucket list of rooms to try! I had one booked once, but then switched cruises to a ship that didn’t have them. But, someday... 😊

  9. If you have to ask the question, it’s because you know that the flight is too early. Don’t risk missing it and just book a later flight. It’s not worth ending your vacation on a stressful note. Anything can happen that can make your debarkation different than a typical debarkation, so it really doesn’t matter what other people have experienced.

I'm curious, why isn't the hotel named?  The fact that these people were scheduled to take a cruise is wholly immaterial to their situation.

No idea why they hotel wasn’t name. I would think people thinking of staying in the same area would like to know this information. In any case, given that they were a large family and lost out on a lot of money that they spent on the cruise, it’s hardly immaterial that they missed it. Exactly the opposite definition of immaterial, actually.

  11. If you are going to back up your S&S account with a credit card, my suggestion would be to not load your grift card to your account. Wait until the end of the cruise and then you can pay off what you owe with the gift card. That way, whatever remaining you have on the gift card will stay on your gift card. We did this on our last two cruises and will do the same on our next one. It works out good. You can use a kiosk to charge your balance to your gift card; you don’t even have to stand in line at Guest Services.

I have a carnival cruise in 3 weeks (during hurricane season) so preparing myself what happens in these cancelled cruise situations.

I’m reading that people are getting FCC. Can you not get a refund instead?

And if you have insurance and get a  FCC, will the insurance take that into consideration when it reimburses you for a cancelled cruise?

The insurance company won’t reimburse you if a full future cruise credit is issued. They only reimburse for losses that you have incurred. In this case, there’s no loss if 100% of this cruise price ends up being a future cruise credit because you will get what you paid for...eventually.

When we have been on ships that have the Ocean Plaza, this event was held there.  I believe that only Dream and Vista class ships have the Ocean Plaza, and Conquest class does not.

I think you are right, it doesn’t. I have sailed so many ships that I tend to get them mixed up, lol. But I still think they could have found a better place to hold the craft activity. Someplace with actual tables.

  14. I did it on the Conquest, and while it was fun (made a door sign), my complaint was that they held it in the atrium where there’s really no tables. It was really awkward trying to do a craft on one of those little itty-bitty tables that are really meant to just hold a couple drinks. I’m not sure why they didn’t hold it in Ocean Plaza where they usually do trivia, since there’s real-size tables there.

Well....they are trying to get compare an NCL 7 day Alaska with 4 perks, to a 7 day Princess with their freebies and decide which is the better value. He's between business trips and this has to be booked by tomorrow to get a certain deal at a TA we all know and love 🙂

If he has a TA, then that person should be able to answer all of your questions. If not, they are not a good TA. Also, just an FYI: these perks are not “free.”  That’s just a marketing term. You are paying for the perks. They are just included in the price of the cruise.

I knew that there were some items on the menu that had a charge but now I was told that there a 7.95 charge to deliver your food to your room. We used it last year and ordered things like salads and sandwiches with no charge at all.

I believe that is NCL that charges a $7.95 delivery fee.  In any case, it's not Carnival.
