That is not entirely correct. It is actually called Guy's Pig & Anchor Bar-b-que Smokehouse, according to her deck plans.

One is called Guy’s Pig & Anchor BBQ per the website and the other is called Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse, also per the website. Since they are different, it’s worth noting which one this ship actually has. The Vista does not have the Smokehouse version.

Besides the Lido Marketplace, there is Guy's Burger Joint (Deck 10), Blue Iguana Cantina (Deck 10), Guy's Pig and Anchor Smokehouse (Deck 5), Pizzeria del Capitano (Deck 10), Seafood Shack (Deck 10), Deli (Deck 10) JiJi's Asian Kitchen (Deck 11) as well as Cucina del Capitano (Deck 11) available for lunch. Other can add on.

The Vista doesn’t have the Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse. It has the Guy’s Pig & Anchor BBQ. The Smokehouse is a sit-down restaurant. The BBQ place is simply a food venue where you walk up to the counter, get served your food, and go.

  3. Your future cruise credit is tied to the booking number of the cruise that you cancelled. When you book another cruise, you will need to call Carnival and give them that booking number, and they will apply the FCC to your new booking. Also, be aware that your FCC cannot be used towards the deposit for a new cruise unless you book the new one at the same time you cancelled the old one.

Does anyone have recent copies of the fun times for Alaska, on the Legend?

we are sailing in a week and I wondered about breakfast and lunch dining options. One of our travelers has a serious food allergy I know it will be best for him to have meals on the dining room.

If someone has a serious food allergy, they need to contact Carnival ahead of time so that accommodations can be made. The MDR staff will work with him or her to make sure that there will be something that they can eat for the next night. Click on this link and look at the Dietary Needs section. It includes contact information.

It should just be offered at the time of booking, like the option to pre-pay grats.

They can't offer it when itineraries first open up because they need to know how many Diamonds and Platinums are going to be onboard first, so they can know how many FTTF spots they can open up.  Otherwise, they would exceed their capacity for Priority embarkation, and would make it impossible for the room stewards to have all the necessary rooms ready for when boarding starts.  In fact, there have been cruises that have had so many Diamonds and Plats that they can't make rooms ready when boarding starts.  Anyway, once it's closer to the sail date and they have a good idea of the number of Diamonds/Plats booked, they start opening up some FTTF spots.

Just curious-how did you take hundreds of pictures  without a single passenger showing in these pictures-did you have the Vista to yourself all week

It’s easy to do when you first board the ship. Everyone goes to the lido and all other parts of the ship are pretty much empty. I frequently spend the first hour or so on a ship taking pictures of all the other parts of the ship, and I am able to take many pictures with no people in them.

  7. We got upsold from an interior to a sideways extended balcony room on the Legend for $500 when we did Alaska, and it was the best money I’ve ever spent. So worth it. But then again, we weren’t in a balcony to begin with. And it wasn’t connecting. As far as port vs starboard, that doesn’t matter at all. “Port” doesn’t mean you will automatically be docked facing the port. It’s always a 50/50 chance.

  8. Our experience on the Imagination was that there was no changed made for dinner, it was as usual. We, personally, don’t care about the sailaway party, so it didn’t matter to us. If you do, and have early dinner, you’ll have to plan on eating in the lido the first night.

I always find FTTF worth it for early access to your room, but that’s just me.

  9. Definitely print your boarding pass for the second cruise, because they will question why you are bringing on 4 bottles for two people.  Also, I highly recommend this.  It made carrying on four bottles very easy when we did our B2B a few months ago.

Why aren't these items available when you book? Would greatly assist with pre- planning one's cruise.

Because things aren’t planned out that far in advance. Menus and activities change all of the time for one reason or another. So even if someone posts the menus or Funtimes from their cruise, that doesn’t mean that they will be the same when you cruise.

Just curious:  Carnival is reimbursing the full cruise fare, plus the future cruise voucher, as well as reimbursing up to $200 per person for airline tickets.  I know some will be more, but our airline tickets are rarely over $200 for a round trip.  Assuming that the $200 Carnival is giving covers that cost, what else would there be that the insurance would cover?  Insurance will not cover something that is already being reimbursed.  Also, I am wondering if it is purchased through Carnival, will that premium be reimbursed as well?

The $200 is to cover the change fees. So that you can change your tickets to a different date, or fly someone else. It’s not meant to cover the cost of the tickets.

  12. With all due respect, “How that little gem got past...” you is that you didn’t pay attention to what you were doing. I’ve managed to book 14 cruises with Carnival and have never booked the wrong date. That said, while I’m glad things worked out for you, technically they should have held you to the cancellation penalties. Because that’s what you were doing: cancelling one cruise and booking another. The fact that they bent the rules is not good customer service because it means that people reading your post who don’t receive the same treatment are going to be mad at Carnival, when they have no reason to be. Honestly, you really should have just thanked your lucky stars that Carnival fixed your mistake, rather than taking it one step further and bragging about it here. Which is just going to open up a can of worms.

  13. There isn’t a cocktail party. They give everyone either mimosas or champagne (I can’t remember which). But in any case, they have them ready for you when you get to the Steakhouse. You can ask for something different, but you may or may not actually get it. Depends on if someone is available to run to the bar to get it. My husband doesn’t drink alcohol and asked for a Diet Coke, and he never got it.

  14. I stayed in an L-shaped room on the Conquest and absolutely loved it. Loved the bigger balcony with a lounger and the extra window to let sunlight in. I don’t recall any problems at all with the room being small. Maybe you would if you have the beds set up as twins, but that wasn’t the case withy husband and I having just the one big bed.

You can show up earlier than your check-in  window, at least for ports in Florida. Each port has a separate line for early/late guests. The downside of showing up outside your check-in window is the line can potentially be very long.

With all due respect, the whole point of staggered check-in is to keep the port from getting too congested. Which makes things a nightmare for everyone. So no, you should not show up before your time slot.

  16. Yes, you can connect through your laptop.  I had the Premium package on the Horizon when we sailed on that ship (in a Havana cabana on deck 5), and it was super fast.  Faster than any ship I have been on prior.  I know that the Horizon has the upgraded internet, so that's probably why.
