  1. Been there twice, once on Spirit, and a couple of weeks ago on Legend. When the Legend cycles back to the States next year they'll be stopping there again. Nice place - there's eight or ten of those bungalow hotels on the atoll, and they all look the same, very nice. $800+ er night for the room, add the cost of food. We reckoned Carnival could cut out Moorea for an overnight stay at Bora Bora, which would give groups the chance to spend a night in one of the bungalows by splitting the cost.

  2. Magens Bay is nice but a victim of it's own popularity, and we found it very crowded. However, you being there later in the day may mean that the crowds disappear at a reasonable hour. Next time we'll be going to some of the less advertised beaches.

The Paradise Point sky ride is thoroughly recommended, the view is breathtaking. Check out the "lottery prize" houses on the way up the hill.

  3. We just finished a 3 week southern/eastern/western b2b2b on the Conquest and it was great. The live music onboard is outstanding - 2 different guitar soloists on Lido during the day, a killer house band called Govt Shutdown who perform in various locations at different times, a very, very good Latin three piece who had 'em dancing everywhere they played, and a great guitar duo who also played a stomp box with their feet for percussion and whatnot. Excellent live music all around.

  4. It can not go from Long Beach to Hawaii per the Passenger Service Vessel Act, Can npt sail from one US port to another without going to a "distant" foreign port. Can not make to Australia in 10/12 days unless it's non-stop..Prob still 20 days from Tampa to Hawaii looks good then the same the Spirit sailed- 17 days with stops in Tahiti..That leaves the 2 days they need in Sydney to do the changes..Right now its all guessing but John Heald said the other day "They will post it before the end of July"....Dennis

This would be a great solution all round. Florida to Hawaii via Panama, then Hawaii to Sydney. Eagerly looking forward to how it shakes out so we can book.

  5. For those that have had aft cabins on the Spirit-class ships, is there much noise or vibration from the propellers and aft machinery? Just curious, as we have had a cabin all the way forward on the Splendor and the noise from the bow thrusters was amazing on port days.

  6. I do love my Serenity areas! It sounds like there are MANY places on the Splendor to explore. I hope 7 days will give me enough time. It sounds like I will have to book another cruise. What do you think?

We were on the Splendor in 2008, and we found the deck 10 forward Serenity area the best thing going. It is well protected from the wind, there were always at least half of the lounges available, it has it's own bar and staff so refreshments are taken care of, and it is just around a screen from the pool at the base of the waterslide - and that pool was almost always nearly empty. It is also a short stroll aft to the Lido buffet, as well. It was a great spot to do deck time at sea...

  7. Don't get the Spa Pedicure :(

I am a licensed Manicurist and thought how cool it would be to receive rather than give a pedicure. For $40 you receive a 5 minute soak followed by a 5 minute sea salt rub, rinse and nails polished. Here in Mass I will give you a six step pedicure with a calf/foot massage that will leave you rubber legged for $40.

Yes I did complain and never heard anything.

Oh Lordy! It's eight thirty at night over here, I'm still at work (having just a little break), and I nearly keeled over when I read that. "Rubber legged" indeed!! Thanks, wwakla!;)
