  1. I could see how people who aren't super plugged in would go into their room and not see a free bottle of water, chocolate delight, etc., waiting for them and assume it was just as simple as Carnival quit that program and not take it any further.
  2. the fee is just paying for the wifi plan. there are no apps on the computers other than a web browser. if you buy the Social plan you should be able to go to facebook.com on the computers at least.
  3. Carnival doesn't have enough crew to do it. And a lot of people don't know about or don't bother to get their stuff so they can save money that way too.
  4. I don't know if they do or not. I just know they don't carry NBC.
  5. You get all of those things. They are not delivered to your stateroom anymore but there should have been a QR code tattoo somewhere in the stateroom to scan that would tell you where to go to get them all.
  6. https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3401/~/i-need-to-cancel-my-booking%2C-is-there-a-penalty%3F
  7. The only screen Carnival wants you staring at on their ships is the one on the slot machine. When guests are staring at a TV, they're not eating $6 PB&J sandwiches or posing for $30 8x10 photos.
  8. Florida is not a cheap place to live anymore, sadly...
  9. They want their food costs as low as possible obviously. They saw the "bacon crisis" as a way to cut some protein out of their bill. Carnival's buffet is a shadow of its former self frankly and the bacon crisis is just one example.
  10. Yes you can just use the OBC as your "cash" initial deposit. I have done that before.
  11. Will any of those analysts make up the difference if that proves to not come to pass?
  12. They could keep set dining for those that insist, just section off a portion of the dining room.
  13. Pound of bacon is about $4 these days in my area, I think that's pretty close to where it was back when Carnival served it every day in the buffet in the times of plenty.
  14. Testing my memory but I think they offered generous credits to those who stayed on even if they got a downgrade in room, and refunds plus flight credits to anybody who didn’t want to switch.
  15. Last year when the Freedom caught on fire the Liberty I think it was substituted for it. And in 2021 when the Horizon had issues the Sunshine substituted for it.
  16. Read the shareholder benefit document - it is in clear english, one per stateroom.
  17. RU2 doesn't exist anymore really. It was a booking code they offered during the initial restart after COVID. The best time to book is now because in general prices are only going up and availability is only going down.
  18. Are they worth it to you is the question? I'd never pay for one.
  19. The CFAR provision is only for a 75% FCC as I recall - NOT a refund. The CFAR provision of the insurance is underwritten by Carnival, not AON.
  20. Again, as long as it covers what you need, sure. But if you need to cancel due to a pre-existing medical condition for example, you learn quickly why it is so affordable when you get the "claim denied" letter.
  21. Yeah my TA and the casino department told me that after the COVID policies (masking, testing, vax cards, etc) were relaxed, the edict came down from above that waiving the fee was no more under any circumstances. I can't complain too much because it's there in black and white when I book these discounted rates.
  22. It's not hard to beat the cruise line's insurance price - but just make sure any policy you buy covers what you need. For example, Carnival's insurance includes a cancel for any reason (CFAR) provision that is rare (and fairly expensive) through third parties. However, Carnival's insurance does not cover pre-existing medical conditions. So there are trade offs and things to consider with any policy.
  23. Yes and it will be forever I am sure. In the buffet at least. Even on the days they serve it, you feel like you're asking to borrow Mom's Tupperware when you ask for some.
