Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. LOL. I did notice some typos. I had to laugh because it was like this company was part of a high school project.
  2. Upon realizing something was not quite correct on their website, I simply called them and made my booking. When I used the website it automatically gave me an interior YC cabin. Nor really what I wanted to when talking to the MSC agent, she got me hooked up.
  3. Thank you. I did call in and learned the system automatically assigned me to an interior cabin so I got that straightened out to a suite. I did learn some new things to help me with the pricing too. I am about to hit Platinum with Carnival, so I will be able to Status Match for some savings and perks. Thank you for your assistance.
  4. FIRST TIME MSC CRUISER. I went out to the MSC website and attempted to book a cruise and I got the date, the length, itinerary, and of course the ship I wanted for my experience. But then the site began asking me about my personal info without allowing me to designate the specific cabin I want to get. I elected the Yacht Club and I honestly wasn't sure if I missed something and I didn't want to keep going forward. I got to the page asking me to pay for everything or do the down payment but again I didn't get to select the cabin. Am I missing something? Do I have the wrong expectations here? I really do want to go on this cruise but it's a bit off-putting not being able to select my preferred suite. Thanks,
  5. My PVP set me up with one of the Carnival Aft Excel Corner Suites right above the Pig & Anchor and Summer Landings. This suite is sweeeet. My concern is how much noise from below drifts up to your suite? Has anyone used one of these suites? How would you rate the outside noise? If you had one of the suites with a couple of decks between the bar and the Summer Landings, could you still hear the noise from below? Let me know what you think and what deck your Aft Excel Corner Suite was on. Thanks.
  6. As you can see by the date of this response, I'm late answering you. But how did it go? Did you have the OBC on your folio?
  7. Great question!!! I actually just went through this a few weeks ago. I always have booked all of my own travel, but I wondered if I could get more through a PVP. Honestly, the PVP can do the same as what you or I do when we book ourselves. BUT, here is what I learned. In January I am doing a B2B that I booked myself, and my PVP went into that booking and updated some sort of code that told the file I have doing a B2B. Supposedly, the code she entered would notify the ship I do not really need to disembark after the first leg. I would actually join all the other passengers that are doing B2Bs to process for the new cruise after the rest of the passengers are disembarked. I did have to have a "come to Jesus meeting" with her when I let her book a suite that sounded fantastic on the Mardi Gras until I learned my cabin was directly above a bar and my balcony was directly over Summer Landing. She and I had to set the expectations I have no qualms in pricing but I did not want to spend a ton of money for a cabin I would never get a good nights sleep or a great afternoon nap. She has been fantastic ever since. But, honestly, if you are doing basically vanilla bookings, then you could do it yourself. If you get a PVP, at least now you have someone to reach out to if there is some sort of problem. I know I went back and forth there, but I think it comes down to your personal peace of mind. I kept the PVP. Good luck,
  8. My first cruise on the Panorama was 2/29/20. That was the last cruise before being shut down by COVID. I loved this ship so much, that I am doing a B2B on her starting Jan 21 through Feb 4. I loved the non-MDR restaurants on this ship. I really enjoy the itinerary too. And as it happens, I will be hitting PLATINUM during that cruise. I personally could not suggest it more. I will be doing the Celebration in May and Mardi Gras the following April, so my opinion could change! David
  9. I actually sent them a copy of my monthly statement. I have multiple trading accounts but for Carnival I have a single account with the required 100 shares. When I send the monthly statement for that specific account, they accept my documentation each time. David
  10. Thank you for the detailed and humorous accounts of your trip. I completely enjoyed hearing about everything you two experienced. I have five cruises lined up on the horizon, and you have given me enough info about menus, excursions, and events that will help me make decisions for my trips. And thank you very much for taking all the pictures you took, they brought to life your descriptions.
  11. Good afternoon! I stumbled on to this string and sat down to read every single entry. Now I'm caught up. I think it's great you are able to spend time with mom on this adventure. Good for the two of you. I will be doing my first B2B on the Panorama in January. Again, thanks for all of the commentary and pictures of food and menus, as well as your treks. I have a question though, you mentioned this a few times in the last 10 pages of discussion but I am confused....tell me about this duck hunting! Anyway, I look forward to following your other legs. BTW, when I start the B2B, I will be Gold but in the middle of the 7-day second leg I earn Platinum. Will I get that upgrade at the beginning of the second leg? What was your specific experience? Thank you.
  12. Thank you everyone!! It really does "take a village". I followed all of the steps I was supposed to follow in sending them the required documents. But, since I had never done this before I didn't really know what kind of turn around time I should be expecting. I am glad though that I am really ahead of the curve. Since the first sailing isn't until Jan 9, I have plenty of time to follow-up in case there is some sort disconnect. All of you have put my mind at ease and I wish you safe and fun cruises everywhere! Thank you.
