  1. I am loving this live review ... and I'm onboard!

Honestly, HUGE kudos to you Doug for organizing and executing an amazing slot pull. I was getting thanked and kept telling everyone you were the one to thank!

And I can't help but wonder, did we beat the Bliss inaugural TA M&G numbers?

  2. I cruised on the Crystal Serenity last December and would never do it again. The food and service was amazing, but the other passengers sucked all the fun out of the cruise. I don’t think I’d do it again, even if I was closer to the median age. Luckily there were a couple of casino junket groups, so the casino was busier than usual.

  3. I don't sail RCI but ALL ships casinos close down in Hawaiian waters. I've cruised there twice and going again next month. In fact, NCLs Pride of America (which never leaves Hawaiian waters) doesn't even have a casino. Hawaii state law, y'know.

I know the NCL POA doesn’t have a casino, that’s why I booked with RCI Radiance. I just wasn’t sure if the ship would ever be far enough from land to open the casino at night.

Good thing we have five sea days before we get to Hawaii!

  4. I too sailed on the July 20-27 cruise and we were in a forward family suite on 12 and Gian was our butler. My friend was in a forward penthouse on 9 and Jonathan was his butler.

Bowen was the Concierge, but I heard that Roel will be returning sometime in the near future. (I’ll be back on the Dawn in October and November.)

  5. This is great info (and handy to see the pics as well). However, I thought (from seeing photos on the NCL site) the Dawn Family Suites had a more built-in partition? Or is this simply to divide the "sleeping area" itself?

There is a great partition in the regular Family Suites (a pull out wall and a pull out curtain - just need a little tape to hold them together and block out the light) - see attached picture (you can see the wooden box where the wall slides out between the bed and the couch), but the previous pics were of a handicapped SJ (assigned to us with an upgrade, not requested) and we had them split the beds and I put up this partition, but it would work anywhere you need it.

Our butler asked for the Amazon links so he could put one up in his cabin!

If anyone still cares about this, yes, the ceilings are metal. I bought strong magnetic hooks and a light-blocking curtain (both from Amazon) and they provided a great partition in our Family Suite on the Dawn last January!

  7. I was in an H9 on the transatlantic and it was lovely! The spa was steps away and yes, the Haven was at the other end of the ship, but I’m not handicapped so I didn’t mind the walk. It’s a big ship and there’s lots to explore, and this gave me a good reason.

Besides, the Haven spa suite was REALLY nice! (Far nicer than the H9 on the Epic, which I did in June.)

  8. [emoji23] I was wondering what the Silent Disco would be like. That is too funny [emoji23]

Thank you for sharing the video and for letting us follow along on your fabulous vacation.

So glad they got their act together! On the TA, it was ONE set track for everyone with no ability to change songs! Can’t wait to try it out again!

  9. Do they have the "Sumo Kitty" and "Haunted House" slot machines in the Bliss casino?

I am SO sorry that I didn’t reply to this earlier! I meant to ask a slot attendant, but I’m pretty sure they had both machines. Maybe post in the casino forum to be sure? Sorry!
