  1. that’s an idea… maybe move away from piazza so there’s actually seats too
  2. I’m afraid the casino will be too smoky… prefer muts or a lounge but glad to hear also available in cabins!
  3. Oh yes we’ve also seen the Super Bowl on the big screen before and loved the atmosphere!! Guess we are not sure if basketball playoffs are considered “big” enough to show on the big screen (or anywhere at all?)
  4. Will Princess show the NBA playoff games and if so, where is the best place to watch?? I’m thinking maybe MUTS but it might be too cold so wondering if also a bar or in cabin? I’m on Royal Princess next week if that makes a difference.
  5. Sometimes a representative or TA might ask if it’s your first cruise to ensure you don’t already have a loyalty number. A lot of times the system may not match the guests with their loyalty status immediately.. and instead assign a new loyalty number to the guest. This causes confusion and more trouble to reconcile later. I’ve had to merge people’s loyalty numbers many times because for some reason they book through third party agencies in the past and got a new loyalty number each cruise. Also, if you’ve sailed on Princess before then they can (potentially) find you better rates after entering your loyalty number. So it’s always good to ask to double check!
  6. What’s the difference per day for 7 days? I can’t seem to find the rate anywhere
  7. I believe taxes are only for US ports so you shouldn’t be affected for Vancouver departure. I am curious for US port departures whether drink packages will be taxed purchased onboard will be taxed? How about Alaska? Anyone know if there’s local taxes for purchases there? Most Alaska itineraries are mostly US ports with a few hours in Victoria (or Prince Rupert).
  8. I have the Princess Plus package. Does anyone know if I want to upgrade from 1 device to 4 devices, what that would cost? It’s a 7 day sailing
  9. I know per drink it is not a lot (on average $1.50 per drink) and I won't let it ruin anything... but I can see how it can add up for someone on a cruise with multiple US ports... especially if they stay on the ship and have a few alcoholic drinks around the pool or grab some waters or coffees... it just seems like a bummer to buy the package and still incur costs per drink rather than the carefree "yes I paid for everything already" I guess we will see when we get aboard, just wanted to set expectations but won't let a few dollars worry us! It sounds like most agree that on Princess if you have the package, then drinks are not charged local taxes. That makes a lot of sense since I am not purchasing anything, just utilizing a service I paid for previously. However on Carnival they do charge local taxes for drink package consumption. That could be confusing.
  10. Thanks Cruise Raider! I will say "hi" to them for you if I am fortunate enough to sit in their area 🙂
  11. Is Alvin and Roel in Royal? I am hoping to ask for traditional dining with same servers for our cruise on Royal.. would Sergio be the one to go to? Anyone know the Director of Restaurant Operations on Royal or recommend any servers?
  12. I’m just hearing a lot of inconsistencies so I’m wondering if it’s due to different ports/different rules or perhaps individual ships handling it differently? what @caribill said makes a lot of sense. People who have beverage packages aren’t purchasing anything at port so they shouldn’t be charged taxes. I hope that is the case!!
  13. May I ask what’s the difference between laundry list and cleaning list? As Elite, is the same day service also complimentary? Do they return clothes folded if requested? I’m hoping not to do laundry when I return home from my trip so if I send laundry the day before disembarking, would I be able to get back in time to pack the next evening?
  14. So I read that Princess charges taxes for all drinks while in US ports… just want to confirm if that’s true or not? Is it just US ports? Is it only alcoholic drinks or all drinks?? I also heard that Princess will give onboard credit ($25) to make up for these taxes, is that still happening? I purchased the Plus package which includes drinks, Wi-Fi, and gratuities and the idea is to have the freedom to try many different drinks and potentially a $0 bill when disembarking. For example in my upcoming cruise we will be leaving out of SF and spending most of the day at two more US ports with taxes as high as 10.25% so that’s almost $1.50 average per drink. I know this doesn’t seem like a large amount but this is on top of what I paid for the Plus package already so it seems like the promotion for Plus saying how everything is included isn’t quite true in this case. I haven’t seen a lot of talk about drink taxes as the hot topic seems to be coffee cards lately but I’m wondering what people’s thoughts are about this extra tax? Especially if you already purchased a drink package.
  15. Thanks for precise answer! I tried searching and couldn’t find this specific answer of whether the barcode in apple wallet will change or if I have to keep checking the app / redownload into apple wallet to see changes in barcode.
  16. Thank you so much for answering my question, I’m not trying to ask for a change of room. I am fine with any room I just didn’t want to keep checking my apple wallet thinking the barcode would change. Now I know to check the app instead and have to redownload the seapass to see any changes.
  17. May I ask for those who added to wallet and saw GTY but kept checking until you see a cabin number… did you have to re-add the Seapass to the wallet each time you check or did you just check the barcode that is already downloaded to the apple wallet? Meaning does the barcode that is already added to apple wallet automatically update when cabin is “assigned”?
