  1. We’ve been to Baha Mar several times, it is a beautiful casino! Huge and many different slots. We’ve always taken a cab at a cost of $20 per person each way! It’s definitely a rip off, but we never knew about the bus service! The last two times we went back to Atlantis and it was a lot more friendly! Guess Baha Mar has given them some competition, lol. We have decided no more 3 day cruises for us, too short and the last time was pretty rowdy! We love Liberty and hate to see her move. Perfect size ship. We’ll be going on a 5 day Freedom in April.
  2. Best advice is to call Carnival, they can link the bookings and make sure you all get the same dining time.
  3. Forward cabins would be pretty windy. The further back the better. I don’t think it makes much difference how high you are. I personally prefer midship, deck 7 cabins.
  4. He hasn’t posted the movies for April yet. Maybe next week.
  5. Port Canaveral has a separate line for mobility scooters and wheel chairs and other handicap people. Although I will say, it’s kind of in the line with the priority group. If you start thru the door, they will direct you to another line. The last 2 times at PC it was pretty chaotic. We choose 12-12:30 as our time to avoid the mad rush, but it hasn’t mattered much lately. This was at terminal 6, not terminal 3. Mardi Gras terminal is much easier (we were going on liberty, they dock there as well).
  6. Speaking from experience as we’ve had a scooter for several years and several cruises with it in a balcony cabin. The scooter will fit thru the door of a regular cabin, especially if the arm rests are off. We never take them. Standard cabin on all ships except the new ones is 22” wide. Our scooter is 21.5, so a skillful driver can get it in, turn it around and park it up close to the sofa. In your case with the sofa being used as a bed, I don’t know if it would be in the way. I do know the way we park it, if I want to sit on the sofa I have to climb over the scooter! I’m really thinking the wheel chair might be your best bet. We did have to rent one from carnival in February for a few days because the scooter wasn’t working. Only problem with that is availability. They may or may not have one available. I would check with Scootaround to see about renting one. Since your wife is somewhat mobile, between you and the girls you should be able to handle the pushing duties ok. Whatever you do, call Special Needs, you never know if there may be a modified cabin available. Good luck and hope you have a wonderful cruise! And I doubt very seriously if you will be able to store the scooter with guest services. I do know when I rented the wheel chair, it was brought to us by room service, and that’s who you call for any assistance with it.
  7. We were on Spirit last March and April. The ventilation was good at that time. I think there was a smoking and non smoking section.
  8. Thanks for the honest review. We will be on Freedom April 1 and again May 13. We’ve been on her several years ago, but don’t remember too much about it. Looking forward to a change from Liberty much as we like her, too. Glad they’re keeping a smaller ship at Canaveral because I doubt seriously we will ever try Mardi Gras, way too big for us! Just did a couple cruises on Magic which we love, but she’s about too big.
  9. I sent them an email on Feb 12, got the canned reply the next day that it could be up to 45 days for a response.
  10. If you look in John Heald’s posts either yesterday or day before, he reiterated that Platinum/Diamond guests ARE allowed to drop their luggage off in the stateroom. You can’t stay but you can drop it off. We’ve done this every cruise since startup last year and have had no problem.
  11. My thought on the whole thing is NO DRINKS UNTIL YOUVE COMPLETED MUSTER!!!
  12. John Heald confirmed last week the new muster drill is here to stay, it will not revert back to the old way!
  13. I guess it depends on which ship you are on. Just got off Magic yesterday, probably 5 or 6 times since restart. Our cabin attendant has asked us every time if we want morning or evening cleaning! The attendants are in my opinion, the hardest working crew. They deserve every cent they get, plus I give both attendants extra tip.
  14. I do check that box every time! Matter of fact I just did my check in Friday (20th) for Magic 2/5 cruise and checked the box. Remember thinking I don’t know why I bother, Just doesn’t make sense at all!
  15. As someone said, no hotels near the train station, not a good area of town! There’s only one hotel by the port, that’s a Holiday Inn Express, 295 and Heckscher Drive. Some have said it’s ok, some not. I would look around the airport, it’s probably half way between the train station and the terminal. I think some of those have shuttles to terminal.
  16. I’m in the same situation. I only get emails from carnival if it’s something regarding an upcoming cruise, no offers or anything like that. I have NEVER opted out of receiving offers, etc from Carnival. I’m the one who books the cruises, I’m the one always looking on the website, always put in my vifp number to search, etc. guess who gets emails, DH! He wouldn’t even know how to book a cruise, lol. I’ve mentioned this several times to my pvp, and she has no idea why I don’t get anything. We’re about to go on cruise #42 and both are Diamond, and make good use of the casino, lol. I think they just don’t like me!
  17. To clarify, drinks such as coffee, tea and water are included. Not sure about carbonated drinks such as Pepsi. Alcoholic drinks are not included.
  18. We are on Magic for John Heald’s FFS cruise. If this is the one you’re on, hope you all have a great time!
  19. I believe it’s month, day and year with year being 4 digits.
  20. Personally I would have to have the light! No interiors without window!
  21. We were there in November. Just got off the ship and walked to the casino. Wasn’t too bad and no one bothered us.
  22. Look for AARP Rewards. It’s not expensive to join AARP, get your money’s worth when you buy gift cards as well as other discounts they give. I just bought 2 $500 and 1 $100 cards Thursday. They are e-cards and very easy to apply to your Carnival cruise balance. Saved $110. They are generally in your email within minutes after you purchase.
  23. I finally realized I had to click on the picture to get to your review! Great pictures of going thru the canal. On the one we did, there was a lady on board who talked thru the whole thing and it was broadcast thru the room tv so we could hear her and watch off the balcony! In your first picture above is the Orange Shop in Citra! I’m 76 years old and we used to take rides on Sundays and sometimes we’d go there from Jacksonville! Now any time we go over to Ocala or Tampa we pass it. Brings back a lot of memories!
  24. Hey neighbor, thanks for the info! While I don’t drink it specifically, my neighbor does with her light rum, but only because they don’t have diet sprite anymore. I’ll send her the info so she can check it out before being stuck with it on a cruise!
  25. Couldn’t see your pictures, but we did the partial transit on Miracle a couple of years ago. Favorite cruise ever! We were on deck 4 back. Looking down at the crew watching from deck 3 was so neat, they were as excited as we were! I’d still love to do it again!
