  1. Any new positives out there? Our cruise is now 129 days. Still seems like forever. I'm even more excited. I've read thread after thread. It seems a lot of the disappointment comes from high expectations vs reality, or perception of that reality. I'm pretty easy going/go with the flow. Give me a lobster bisque or a good chili dog and I'm happy. Now if they run out of wine, I gotta improvise...

  2. I just booked a cruise, and I'm in a 4J handicap cabin. I was the last to book, and was told would be the first to get bumped. I don't have a problem since I can only go up. My question is, where did you end up, if in fact you got bumped?

Hello darling. I am far too lazy to read this whole thread. However, I'll add in my two cents anyway. Thirty years in the hotel business. Did we bump guests to accommodate those that needed handicap accessible rooms? Absolutely. Did it happen often? Maybe five times in the last 15 years. Was either guest unhappy with the resolution? Never. There is a person somewhere looking at all that, believe it or not. It is in the proprietors best interest to ensure both guests are happy. Don't know that you will get a suite, but you will always get comparable accommodations. Happy sailing!

  3. I'm okay with the water, I already ordered it. But does this mean the bottle of vodka I order for my room won't be given to me until the day I leave? That's pointless. Im an extremely unpleasant person in the morning until I've had my coffee and bloody Mary. I had planned to bring my own veggie juice and have my morning drinks before leaving my cabin. Just to be considerate to my fellow cruisers, of course😁

  4. I worked in hotel revenue management for 29 years. A front desk attendant that will question a qualifying identification are even fewer than the ones that will ask for in the first place. They're underpaid, overworked, and expected to go above and beyond for every guest. I'm not saying it can't happen. But it's a rare occurrence in my experience.

  5. True "Government Rates" are listed by hotels that can meet the standards required by the government for travel stay and reimbursement. They have more to do with the condition of the safety features than anything else. Hotels submit these rates once a year. Front desk attendants often won't ask for any government identification. However, during a high demand period they may be directed to do so. As long as your wife has some type of state or local government I'd in that case, it's fine. If she doesn't, worst case scenario they will tell you you do not qualify for that rate and will quote you a higher rate.
