Another factor to consider is fuel pricing, which is really low now, around $50 a barrel, or less. It’s a major component in their cost. If, for whatever reason, if it starts to climb steadily, you haven’t seen the bottom in the stock price. Some of us who have been around cruising for a long time can remember when it was over $100 a barrel and they imposed a $14 p.p. per day, p.p. ($140 max) surcharge for a short period of time. I believe the trigger point, where they can add a surcharge if they want, is $65 per barrel.

I think we can see $30-35 per barrel, this is when I start catching knives in gas companies.

NOT A FINANCIAL EXPERT I MOSTLY TREAT THIS MONEY AS GAMBLING. DO NOT FOLLOW MY ADVICE.

Thinking about watching this for a while but the Jan 2021 $110 call is looking awfully good for $550

Yes I still think this goes down now

  3. We have never booked while on ship but we leave in 2 weeks and already picked out our cruise next November 2020 and where given a $100 gift certificate that basically means you need to book on ship or just through Royal Carribean website.

My wife also has a 10% of code from https://www.clubroyaleoffers.com/ so I might see about trying to utilize it all on ship.

  4. I found a mixed economy/business round trip (Free bags) with hotel night before for $2100 for 2 people and leaving the 19th Includes meal on business legs.

I tried to message you but I cant send messages.

if you send me your email I will send info.

  5. We are flying back SW from San Juan to Pittsburgh Dec 1st after Thanksgiving cruise. Airfare to fly back per person was $733.  For that day back to LAX is $803.

We are also flying again to SJU in April and we went ahead and booked airfare first class through American and got a really decent deal when you include cost of luggage, food and just general comfort.  We did this with a night before room in a bundle deal thru an online TA.

If the American, Delta flights are high Southwest will be too, this would be time to look at rebooking or just biting the bullet and get First Class before everything goes up.

This does present the opportunity for many discount bookings on Majesty; possible to have a 4 night cruise to key west and nassau with only 2 days off of work, last minute, firesale deals.  Who lives 45 minutes from FLL with "unlimited" PTO?  Lmaxwell does.  Silver lining

We are not close to FLL but with Southwest low fares we can get there relatively cheaply for 4 nights.  I have started looking at options.

The lowest I found was on Sept 7th for $191 per person with a $65 On Board credit for an interior room.  But we leave for Alaska Ovations on Sept 12th.

I am also thinking about asking if I book a cruise for wife and I and dont show up what is real cost.  Reason I ask is we are Emerald with 69 points and going on Ovation Sept 13 for anther 7 nights, getting up to 76.   We then have a JR suite on Freedom on Nov 24th.  If we can get the points to get us to diamond it might be worth it since I already have a $100 Royal Carribean Gift card that can only be used during booking.

  7. We are returning from SJU on December 1st from Freedom of Seas. I booked Southwest as soon as it came out as the return flights on Delta and American are just horrible times.

When the flights came out it was instantly SOLD OUT on all Wanna Get Away.  The Anytime price was $705 and the Business Select was $733.  So I booked 2 of the $733 flights from SJU to Pit at 12:20 to 5:30.  Why because they are refundable but with Southwest we use the no change fees also.

The 737Max8 is killing Southwest right now on long flights, also causing issues with American.

Lately we have sailing frequently out of San Juan and with American on first class we have been getting really good deals when you account for bag fees, drinks, and dinner.

Last few years we have flown out on Thanksgiving to Cruise the week following, the airport is pretty easy to get threw, usually you get perks on flight, this year with it being late caused issues so we are going over Thanksgiving.

Has anyone had any luck getting them to leave off the potatoes or rice? My last cruise, I kept asking but no luck. I just hate wasting food. Then I would ask for say a side of broccoli and I would get a dinner plate full 😂Again I hate wasting it.

Slide it to the person sitting across from you.

  9. I am on Keto with IF til 4 pm, with exceptions of 2 Muscle Milk protein shakes and black coffee, cant stand them mixed. Last cruise practically was able to go full Carnivore with options of breakfast, lunch and dinner.   I have never used HWC in my coffee but in the past when I am taking in to much Protein I drop the muscle milk during the day for MCT Oil in my coffee. Wouldnt that just be easier to bring onboard.

Have you used the Royal gift card yet?  Some have restrictions requiring them to be used to book a new cruise.

Worst Gift cards ever, Honestly unless you are booking a new cruise only through Royal Carribean in the next year they are pretty much worthless unless you can find someone to buy them off of you looking to do that.  Maybe sell it for 50% if you are not going to book in next 12 months.

How hard is it to have a 16 digit card?
