We'll be on the Conquest in January. Curious if the safety drill is held inside (show lounge, dining room, etc.) or outside by the lifeboats. Any recent Conquest cruisers out there who can tell me how it's handled now?
Thanks!!
Only on the Dream class and newer ships do they hold muster inside.

When I read reviews I also look at the date the person joined CC and how many forum posts they have.
If you look at that information you will see that most of the poor reviews are from people that joined in 2015 and have zero forum posts.
That makes me question their credibility. I get the impression that they just joined CC to bash - no matter what ship or what line.
Many do not discover CC till after their cruise. People that frequent CC make up a tiny portion of cruisers.
-
No, they serve to late for me. I'm up by 4:30 to 5:00 am every day vacation or not. I am starving in a hour after getting up.

Not when your cruise fare is, in many cases, less than the cost of a stay at a Holiday Inn.
Holiday Inn must be charging some outrageous rates now days. I only book balcony rooms, peak season so I shell out 3-4 thousand dollars a cruise.

I can't believe people are arguing over the frequency to shower. Unless you are in the shower with them, it isn't anyone else's business.
And yes, you can upgrade your steak in the MDR for a fee.
Why should you have to upgrade? They should serve a quality steak to begin with.

Lol. I'm sure Castro Kitsch would sell better than Amolite
Just think, they will make it mandatory you buy some, and everyone will get a free Che t-shirt.

Technically it is not ice cream, but rather ice milk. It does not have the proper milk fat content to qualify for Ice Cream.

Since Red Frog is made by AnBusch, are they licensing the brewing process to Carnival or are AnBusch putting their people onboard the Vista's to operate the brewery? I never did think that Carnival was truly getting into the brewery market so I'm not surprised that "their" beer is produced by a 3d party and labeled for them, but I am surprised that AnBusch would allow it to be brewed outside their control. Or since it's not sold under their label, AnBusch doesn't care?
It was a beer that the American beer drinking public soundly rejected several years ago. Some genius in the marketing department of AB sold it Carnival as a unique one of a kind beer. I'm sure that marketing person took down a nice bonus check for that.

Wow - Perhaps some of you might want to either stop cruising, pick another, more "premium" line ... OR, adjust your expectations!!
Carnival has never promised "upscale" 5-star dining! For the overall value of the vacation expereince, Especially compared to land vacations, it can't be beat! Where else can you spend about $100 to $150 per person, per day, and get:
a hotel room
several options for "unlimited" food
Resort-like ammenities including full gym, pool, waterslides
daily activities
nightly entertainment including shows, comedians and audience-shows
Round Trip sea-transportation to multiple tropical locations for you to explore
Plus, GREAT Views of the ocean ALL day ...
No matter WHAT line you cruise ... it's an AWESOME vaue ... and I cruise for the OVERALL experience ... not just "one" aspect, like the food.
So, I place my expectations for cruise food in the MDR and the Lido Buffet somewhere between "Banquet/Wedding food" and "Outback Steakhouse" -- and I am typically happy and satisfied.
I'll be on the Pride February 20th, 2016 - Paying $98 per person, per day for my 8 day cruise (INCLUDING Gratuities and Port Charges!) I'm confident with these properly set expectations ... I'll have a great time and never be hungry! I also plan on trying the Steakhouse for the first time, my expectations for that will be a little higher - I'm NOT expecting it to be like "Ruth Chris'" but it would be nice if it were :)
Cheers!
Jeff aka Recovery Dude :)
How low must ones expectations go? Soon the bar will be set low an ant couldn't crawl under it.

THIS. The prices for comparable cruises out of Galveston versus Florida are almost always higher than any Florida ports. Makes good business sense to put ships where they make the most money.
I've looked at cruises out of Florida for different ports. I just cant justify the air fare for 3 people plus two nights of hotels. Cheaper to cruise out of Galveston with the same ports.
-
Because they get short changed on ports. Western ports are nice, but extend a little further into the east beyond the Bahamas now and then.
They do one route of Key West and the two Bahama ports. I avoid that route.
-
Well not all, but by mid spring they will have 3 of the nicer 2.0 ships, liberty(which is my favorite), breeze and Triumph. Meanwhile, with all the port choices in Florida I am only left with conquest, glory and sometimes sunshine. Why not transfer and flip one of Floridas older ships to Galveston and let one of There new 2.0 enhanced come to Florida?
Because they fill those ships and for several hundred dollars more per person.

I disagree, Black Seal on the rocks cant be beat!
Cruzan is the only rum with drinking.

My boyfriend and I are sailing on the Sunshine in December 2016 (it'll be his 1st ever cruise, I'm SO excited to introduce him to Carnival and cruising in general)!! :D We've already pre-bought the Cheers Program online but would like a couple bottles of liquor in our cabin to mix our own drinks (or add to the ones we buy) if we want to. My question is, since Cheers involves alcohol, will the system let us buy a couple bottles online pre-cruise or will we have to wait until we board the ship (which wouldn't be a problem)? I know there's a limit on the number or alcohol products you can buy online (I think it's 2) but I'm not sure if the Cheers program is included in the limit. I hope this makes some sort of sense.
Thanks!! :D
Yes you can do Cheers and purchase two bottles for your room. Just hope you are not a rum drinker as their rum choices are horrendous.

While I do not disagree per-se, we had a tug along side of us during sail away from New York last year. It was interesting and could only attribute it to the current in the Hudson river.
Had a tug help push us off and turn on the Triumph.

A week cruising is 100 times better than one week at work hands down. We love cruising and as stated in my posts we enjoyed ourselves. I know its a cliché but a cruise is what you make of it or any trip for that matter. We do not recommend the ship itself (Conquest) but this doesn't mean that you will not have a great time. Perception is reality. You may not encounter or be bothered by things that affect other people.
Have fun. Go in with a positive attitude and remember you will be on vacation so relax and enjoy.
So ignore a hot and muggy dining room ?

I won't be sailing on her until July. I wonder is it a particular floor or type of room that has these a/c problems? I am booked on the 7th deck in a ocean balcony suite. I guess we could always sleep outside. Could you guys tell me which room numbers or floor that had that problem, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks:)
They stated the AC in their room was fine. They stated that the dining room and casino had AC issue.
-
I haven't seen a tug on a sail away in the last 10 years.
 Some people just lack a sense of humor, seems you are one.
-
That has to be an inside room. Balcony is close to $1,000. Fine dining bahahahahaha.
-
:eek::eek:
And there will be those that will say...that is fine, it doesn't effect me.
What do they really offer now days? Playlist show, Hasbro Show, Comedians, Dive movies and the Legends show. Playlist and Hasbro not really my thing, who wants to stand in line for 2 hours to see a comedian. Most Dive in movies are out on redbox or netflix and I can't sing or dance. There is the Casino but I only play poker and I really dislike the electronic tables.

The CD will be standing behind a big kettle drum and all passengers will be given oars. Those tugs cost money.
-
Soon they will replace the Comedians at the comedy club with all open mic nights.
-
Why are either of you here if it is so bad?
Is this not a place to express opinions? Or just opinions that agree with yours?
-
You said "find," so I have to assume you are still cruising with CCl. Yep, shell out the bucks for a week of starvation because the food is inedible.... makes perfect sense. :D
Did I say inedible? I said barely edible. Slays me the people that think the food on cruise ships is great food. Its no better than banquet food.
Bottles of liquor from room service....

You should be able to order one through room service once on board. You will pay dearly for it though.
