  1. definitely we were in 2 bedroom on transatlantic 2 years ago and it was fantastic
  2. exactly. We were on Escape transatlantic in Nov 2022 and booked then.
  3. Well that makes sense to use your onboard credits. I paid in advance as I booked almost 2 years ago and since then the daily gratuities have gone up and I was able to get the old price if I paid before we went plus it's one less thing for me to have to consider in my budget while on the cruise
  4. no problem. i think some people claim that they didn't know, but how could you not know, especially if you have been on a cruise before. That's nice your TA paid for them, I wish mine did (ha ha). I too feel like I don't like to pay thing in advance, but I always do with my gratuities especially how they have been increasing lately. One thing I don't have to remember to have extra money for once I'm on the cruise. Any way, I guess people have their own reasons how they do it.Just personal preference I guess.
  5. You hit the nail on the head and I couldn't agree with you more.
  6. not true we always prepay our gratuities prior to embarkation. That way it's not a surprise to us at the end of our cruise. If you go online to your booking there is an area for you to prepay your gratuities along with if you want to buy shore excursions and specialty dinning. I know in some countries they include them in with the price of the cruise. Just makes it easier for us to pay before
  7. couldn't agree more. I guess some of these people on here think they're above certain people
  8. That is what I was trying to convey in my post too. personally I would never ask to have the daily service charge removed and the gratuities on drinks and the such either. If you feel ok within yourself to try and have these removed then I feel sorry for you. To me it says that you don't value the effort put forth by all the crew. We still give extra cash tips to our cabin steward if he is personable and to other servers who we thought were great and friendly. On our last Escape cruise we had a particular cocktail server who always seemed to be where we were and went above and beyond to be friendly and helpful, therefore we gave him a nice cash tip at the end of our cruise. Personally I know going on the cruise I have to pay these daily service charges and just because 1 person may have not lived up to your standards would I take away from everybody else, but that's just me.
  9. NCL policy is that all passengers must pay the automatic daily service charge; you can't opt out. They have a form, pick up at the customer service desk on ship, to fill out and e-mail to NCL after the cruise is over. They state you will get your service charges refunded.
  10. yes i do believe that is true. Unfortunate for the staff if people are so cheap that they want to remove it.
  11. You can do either. On our last Transatlantic, Rome to NYC at the end I didn't have many Euros left so I used a combination of both.
  12. no you can not remove the daily service charge. The only way to do that is contact NCL after the cruise. I'm not sure why anyone would want to do that unless they were being cheap. Just my opinion but I think the employees always go above and beyond in which case we leave extra cash for at least our cabin attendant and in the past to a particular cocktail server who went way above and beyond.
  13. Does anyone currently or just on the Dawn know what shows are on in the main showroom now. Also, how is the internet? Did they add starlink on this ship yet
  14. For Platinum is it 2 bags per cabin or person if both are lattitudes?
  15. yes completely agree about David. Above and beyond on everything we asked
  16. Oh my gosh thank you. Yes it was David and you're right he was awesome. Well like you said they all were. We had never done the Haven before and so it was a great experience to have it on that 16 day trip. Hopefully can do it again someday
  17. You will love the Haven on the Escape. We did 2 bedroom last November on Transatlantic. Haven restaurant is great, just ask and they will get it for you. Concierge was great, woops forgot his name. Make sure when you dock go to him to take you down priority to disembark for tours. Also he took us down to "Choir of Men" in the first couple of rows in front of the stage. Loved the pool and hot tub area of the Haven too. Didn't get to use the outside are for Haven only as our weather wasn't that great on the crossing. Enjoy the Haven experience and your cruise
  18. We were in a 2 bedroom suite in the Haven on the Escape transatlantic last November. You will be happy with that room, we were. Also, the Haven on this ship is great. Loved having the Haven pool area as there was quite a few bad days at sea. Have a great time
  19. We absolutely loved Jack when we did Transatlantic last November
  20. Oh no that's too bad, he really is good I'd love to know which ship. I did like the assistant crew director and the whole group on that Transatlantic, very good
  21. I would definitely jump on that 16nt one. We upgraded directly with our TA on the Escape transatlantic last November and we managed to get a 2 bedroom Haven for not very much to upgrade.
  22. Yes there is when you board and they escort you to the Haven Loung. Inside the lounge there is a glass elevator to and from the 19th floor. The Haven on this ship is wonderful. We did the Transatlantic last November in a 2 bedroom.
