  1. I am a woman who is psychology professor and sex educator in my late 60's. I cruise solo a lot and mostly on Princess which has a older demographic. I see far more groups of women my age cruising together then men. As a solo cruiser it is easy for me to buddy up other women in my age group. Sociologically speaking the younger generations are less concerned about someone's gender and the older ones either don't care or are totally confused with all of the new terms "cis, queer"etc. My age group still see "queer" is a pejorative term. If you want to dance till dawn pick a cruise line that that doesn't roll up the rugs at 9pm. Good for you and Travel On!

  2. Last year I went too Macy's in Seattle to buy face cream and make up before a cruise. The prices on board were about $5.00 cheaper. No taxes. This year I bought a Citizens Eco drive watch for a bit over $300.00 . As many have posted I checked Amazon before I bought it and the ships price was $50.00 less. I also "won" a cheaper Citizens watch at the end of the cruise. I think everyone who bought a watch over a certain price got one. There is a big difference between between watches they put on tables and those in the jewelry stores. Everyone sells the Effy jewelry and I see people spending $$$$$ for it. I live in Las Vegas and every hotel has high end jewelry stores that catch the impulsive buyers and those who just won a jack box in a slot. Only to lose it the next day and have to return it the next day.

  3. In July I was on the Liberty to the Caribbean. 0ver 3000 pax and over 1000 kids. OMG! they were everywhere walking around with their eyes glued to their phones. Last year at the same time I went to Alaska on the Jewell. Much smaller amount of kids. I usually cruise on Princess and they seem to have 60+ crowd which I am part of. Remember, we are only as old as we feel!

  4. I never get lucky with an offer like this. The only thing Princess would offer me is a free trip in a rowboat and a ham sandwich. :D :D

As a solo traveler I doubt I would get an offer much less the ham sandwich.

  5. I will definitely be back in September for Alaska. I'm looking forward to it already. :):p:D I've sailed Pearl in the Caribbean with a friend and we had a great time.

How is Alaska in September. Two friends and i want to book in September as the rates are lower. Are most excursions still available I have gone in May and July before. Alaska has become my yearly go to spot.

    Thank you

  6. Sorry for all the typos!

I must have gotten really lucky as the Princess representative was very helpful. I was booking business class fora next April transatlantic. 3 different airline had seats available. With different rates in the same area of the plane I can't remember the term she used, but it was something like shared access. I can't remember if there was a phone number to call or not. Possibly when you get that message again try to do a dummy reservation and see if it comes up. It may just be Princesses warped idea of telling you those reservations are not available.
