Perhaps this was already answered in the posts (TLDR), but can you verify Coke or Pepsi and if Coke do they have Coke Zero?

Coke. Not sure about Coke Zero, I’ve only seen Coke and Diet Coke.

Also, Alfredo’s was very good - antipasto, Majestic Princess pizza, calzone, tiramisu.

  2. ALL guests will be required to wear a face mask – with no exceptions – in elevators and in designated indoor entertainment areas, all retail shops, and in the casino except when eating or drinking.

I read on the Carnival forum that when the immediate masking policy was implemented on the Carnival Vista, due to the positive covid cases, indoor smoking was no longer allowed. To me, the above wording from Princess suggests that smoking might no longer be allowed in the casino for now? I'm not a smoker, so would be happy with that. I'll find out next week.

Thanks. I've talked to a lot of the head officers and stuff and pretty much a lot of them I have all set the same thing where a maiden voyage when you're starting from a brand new ship it's so much easier to get started. Whereas here they're picking up all the pieces from being on a pause it's a whole different ballpark really. I think they're just trying to figure themselves oh and how to run more efficiently and whatever it is. I just kept telling them that it was okay because I know everyone is trying to get shall we say the veins of the ship back up and running.

Your posts are greatly appreciated! Any insight into the capacity of upcoming Alaska sailings? I was a bit surprised that it increased from 60% to 75% on these first two sailings. I imagine it would be helpful for both the crew and passengers to work any kinks out at a reduced capacity.

  4. MEETING WITH JAN

Along the lines of @Steelers36, I have two questions I'd love to ask Jan Swartz if given the opportunity. She might give a non-answer answer, but no better opportunity to get information straight from the top!

    1) Today Royal Caribbean announced a new covid-19 testing requirement for US sailings, see announcement below for Seattle sailings. I'd ask if Princess is considering a similar change in protocol.

    2) I'd  also ask what the current plans are for increasing capacity for these Alaska sailings. No one seems to have an answer, but I don't know how closely held that information is.  I understand it could be a moving target, but it was Duke Christopher, ED who replied to someone's question on Instagram that sailings would begin around 60%.

If anyone onboard wants to take one for the team and ask, I say please do! : )

GETTING READY TO CRUISE FROM SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

On Serenade of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas in July and August 2021

The protocols communicated here apply only to guests departing from Seattle, Washington in July and August 2021 on Serenade of the Seas® and Ovation of the Seas®. We will continue to update these protocols as public health situations evolve. Guidance for all other departure ports is still in development on with federal, state and local authorities. Booked guests will be provided full details specific to their port of departure prior to sailing.

For Sailings 5 Nights Or Longer: Important Update For Guests
All guests age 2 and older — regardless of vaccination status — will need to take a COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen) with an accredited test provider, such as a drugstore chain or diagnostic lab, no more than 3 days before arriving at the terminal for embarkation. Guests will need to show their negative test result upon arriving at the terminal. The results can be printed out, or can be presented on your phone, such as the email result from your test provider. Costs associated with this test are the guests' responsibility. This requirement is subject to change as we evaluate public health recommendations, and booked guests will be advised of the latest requirements before sailing.

  5. Lots of good info. in this thread!!! Thanks!

I've found the printed Patters for Days 1-3, but not for yesterday, Day 4. Did I miss it, or has it not been posted?

Also, I'm not too tech savy. I was wondering if someone who is, and not sailing now, would be kind enough to capture the printed Patters and various menus and post them all in a separate thread? I'd find that very helpful to reference, and think others future cruisers would too. 🙂

Another question for someone aboard.  What are they calling the "VIP Gaming" area on the Alaska cruises?  This is the lounge that is next to the casino.  It functioned as a Crooners when we were on the Majestic in 2019 but I just wanted to know if there is an official name for it.  I'm preparing the officer invitations for our Meet & Greet on the August 8th sailing and was hoping to use the venue name rather than just say VIP Gaming area (lounge next to casino).  Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer!

Hopefully someone onboard can confirm. However, I did notice that both the embarkation patter and the OceanCompass map of the Majestic Princess in the Medallion app refer to that area as having a Double Down Bar.

Same here.  Also, the last line is labelled "Celebrations", not "Celebrating a milestone?".

I have the added Emergency Return Airport and Travel Information lines; however, my last line is "Celebrating a milestone?" not Celebrations.

I don't have any celebrations added, does it change from one to the other if you have added a special occasion?

  8. I'm sailing 8/8 to Alaska. Two weeks ago I received the 'Missing Immigration Information' email stating I was missing my Trip Interruption Air City and Emergency Full Address. I contacted my PVP, who entered my home airport in her system. She said Princess has my 'full address' and she didn't see anywhere else it could be added? Today I received a second 'Missing Immigration Information' email again asking for my Emergency Full Address.

After some time and effort over the past few weeks, my Medallion app is all green, yea!  The Emergency Contact and Emergency Return Airport sections were successfully completed before receiving the first email from Princess. I'll call my PVP again tomorrow, although I don't know what she can do for me. Perhaps she can fax my address to the number provided in the email, even though my full address is already listed there with the other booking information?

The email states that passengers will be unable to print their boarding pass or individualized luggage tags unless the information is provided. I've already printed luggage tags.

Medallions have started to go out to others on my sailing. Mine has not yet shipped. Hopefully this 'glitch' does not impact shipping of Medallions or boarding.

We are also in a suite. When I tried to make a reservation for specialty dining on the first night of the cruise the app wants to charge us $29/person. Our cruise is 8/29. Are you sailing before this date? I’ll keep trying and maybe I’ll be able to make the reservation without incurring a charge at some point before we sail.

Also are you able to make reservations for the shows and other events? So far the app shows no events for the 8/29 sailing so once again I’m wondering if you are sailing on an earlier cruise.

TIA for any information you can share.

I'm cruising 8/8. Like you, when I first tried to make the specialty dining reservation I was going to be charged the $29/person. I tried again, after DMW had stopped working for a few days, and this time was charged the $29/person for me and my husband, but now a credit also showed up, leaving a zero balance to confirm the reservation.

I am not yet able to see any information in the JourneyView section of the app, but hope to soon!

What also might have helped me is that I removed the Medallion app from my phone and reinstalled it. My phone did not show any available updates, but CC folks were mentioning that one was available. After doing that a few more features showed up, and, fortunately, I didn't lose anything I had entered previously. Right now I've got green lane status, fingers crossed it stays that way!!

I believe they are; I started to make a dinner one, then realized we have Club Class after it offered a dining room, so I pulled out, but as I clicked on each night, it did show where I had reserved each night for the ones where I had a specialty restaurant reserved.

Regarding Club Class dining, is the consensus that reservations are not necessary with DMW? I only ask because the JourneyView part of the Medallion app now allows reservations for sailaway celebrations, cocktail parties and other events that never required reservations before.

FYI - For my upcoming Alaska cruise, DMW worked, stopped working, and now appears to be working again. I'm in a suite, and noticed I can now book a specialty dining reservation the first night for me and my husband without incurring a charge. I wasn't able to do that before.
