  1. @graphicguy Not a party pooper at all. In fact - I loved this answer and am sure that fellow CC readers have as well. Its a HARD question and absolutely no right answer. Every answer is personal and because of that, wonderful. We cruise for experiences - honestly, why else spend the money? Sure - you could go to a 5 star resort or a hotel near your house for a stay-cation (which are awesome in their own ways), but part of cruising is not only to see the world but to meet other people and see the world through their eyes. Ultimately, I think that's why many if not all of us are on CC. We have questions about "who, what, where, why and who" for each cruise, line, port, restaurant, show....and we hope to get input from those who have experiences those things. Can the boards get heated, political and (occasionally) nasty? Yup. But I thought it would be fun and interesting to get to the heart of why we all pay good money to hop on a ship and explore a little corner of our beautiful world. As the good Mr Rogers said "It's the people that you meet each day", and I 100% agree. Can't wait to read more on this thread. Warmest, Amy
  2. @ontheweb and @njkate I've never thought about St Petersburg and after reading so many people on this thread saying listing this port did a little web search for videos and site. Absolutely glorious. Cannot hold a people responsible for the actions of it's leaders, and hoping the war will end soon to protect lives, humanity and the beauty of places like this that should be freely shared with the world. Warmest, Amy
  3. @graphicguy I saw a video once that described that chandelier as "techno-tampons". Now - I dare you not NOT have that image in your brains 😁
  4. @cruiseny4life Awesome photos and recs. Yes...it's a really hard decision but isn't it great to have such amazing places in the world and on ships to see? Harvest Caye is beautiful and thank you so much for the photos showing just why it's your favorite.
  5. A Small Light is heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time. Beautiful documentary Thank you
  6. We have that on our list. The chowder reminds us of "Cape Cod Style". Honestly, anything that has stayed in business since 1938 is definitely worth a try! 👍
  7. So far.... But this thread is young...cannot wait to see further trends. Not sure of what the "n" for statistical analysis but loving the replies!
  8. Hitting Amsterdam in February on MSC (please no hissing from the NCL crowds). Anne Frank house on the must-see list as I cannot think of a better way to show my child how beauty can survive tragedy. Any other recs in this port?
  9. Spinnaker lounge spaces are just the most beautiful spots ...thank you for the photos!
  10. JustHappy!!!! I am "SoHappy" myself that you had a great time. Hoping your lovely husband enjoied himself as well. It sounds like the ship exceeded your expectations! Warmest, Amy
  11. Ok...have to know the "must eat at" restaurant in Seattle? We are there the day before our Alaska adventure in Sept and staying at the Pier 66 Marriot. Recommendations?
  12. ANY ship...there hasn't been a ship or line we haven't loved in some way. Come on...spill...what ship do YOU love! 😉
  13. St Georges is lovely...and yes...the smaller ships do go there but usually it's the ferry taking them. The unfinished church...amazing!
  14. As our family counts down to each cruise, I am on the CC Boards often soaking in the conversations, gathering tips, getting advice. Like many cruisers, we work hard so we can explore the world one port at a time and always looking for something new and exciting. Got to thinking, with so many amazing experiences, ships and locations, could we name JUST ONE favorite Port, Ship and Room? It's a tough call but here's our answers: PORT: Hamilton, Bermuda. Loved it so much we moved there from NY and stayed for years. SHIP: NCL Gem. Great ship, crew and lovely Haven with an enclosed pool. It's the perfect size ship for us with fantastic itineraries. ROOM: Haven 2 Bedroom Suite. 2 bathrooms (that view!), a private space for kiddo, awesome balcony, and right in the Haven complex. Very curious to hear about CC members' experiences and preferences. It's such a personal choice; there are probably 5 "almost but not quite favorite" ports, ships and rooms we could list, and willing to bet our upcoming NCL Encore DOS to Alaska room may trump the 2 bedroom. What about you? Ready? Go! Pictures if you got 'em! Warmest, Amy
  15. @Sthrngary Ok...this is fabulous on so many levels. But my mind is forever blown. I have "grumpy old man face" in my mind now replaced by "man in a tuxedo face". What the heck? It's like the curtain has been pulled back from the Wizard of Oz! With appreciation, Amy
