I will be on back-to-back Med cruises on Azamara Onward. I've been on Azamara once before (to Cuba) but it's been a while. I originally booked just one cruise -- mainly to visit a few ports new to me. The total run starts in Venice (Fusina, which is not too far away from Venice), so I'm spending a couple of days in Venice first. It ends in Istanbul but also has an overnight in Istanbul in the middle (on the turnaround day) so I'm not staying at the end. I've been to Istanbul four or five times in the past...

 

Being the history nerd that I am, I'm most excited about the opportunity to get to Sparta, as well as the chance to stop in Pula where there are some beautifully preserved Roman buildings, including one of the best amphitheatres outside of Italy.

 

 

We were next to an Azamara ship a few times while cruising , love their colour scheme. They look very smart , might have to try them one day.We ended our cruise in Fusina and it was easy to get the train then people mover into Venice, we overnighted there on our Regent cruise.

I like the sound of both the trips you are thinking about Kat, I to would like to explore more if Spain. We have friends in Puglia for two weeks at the moment.

We are now home after 5 weeks of travelling in the European heat,Spring time in NZ from tomorrow September 1st 🙂

I resigned from my part time job today ,it was no longer enjoyable with too many changes .

After 5 years its time for a new position.

Hello from Rome,I think it was Cynthia who recommended the Albergo del Senato hotel,we are here and it’s great.We have a view over the Pantheon and a little terrace,we are going to dinner next door tonight,

I am glad you were able to book another tour Cynthia ,although not the one you wanted

Enjoy tour cruise Cynthia , annoying about the excursion but it will still be wonderful.

Very funny today , we drove to Monaco and the Regent seven seas Mariner was there , we board her in Rome on Monday 🙂

I also took Covid tests with me as I would not want to spread it through out the ship,also took some paxlovid as I am immune compromised.I would like to think people would be honest but somehow I think some may not test ,that’s life!

Just got off the Sojourn a few days ago . No testing required to board anymore , I wasnt aware of any covid on board until reading this. Heard a few coughs but thats all. Had a lovely relaxing time

Mum and I had a great cruise and meeting my husband with the car in Civitechia went all to plan,we drive to St Paul,de Vence tomorrow.

PS I have worn Nars tinted moisturiser for a few years,I wore the colour Gronenland but now wear the colour Alaska.I also use Nars foundation if I need more coverage and like the feel.

We arrived yesterday and the time zone change  is huge,managed to stay up and sleep with the help of medication .Our cruise starts tomorrow so we will take it easy today as my mother is finding it tiring .Sagrada Familia then relax .

Kat I took some tortillas from trader joes in San Francisco back to NZ , we love them

as flour and corn .

I started packing yesterday , looks so hot in Europe at present , I purchased a fan with batteries and a water sprayer to take , ugly but hopefully helps .

Last thing to buy is a power pack for my iphone as its not lasting as long . I got a new ipad in San Fran so cant quite justify a new phone as well !

Hi Kat my husband is the same , so tired . He hasnt ever tested positive for covid though , just had a nasty virus.

Kat you sound like my husband with the dentist,he’s had a filling replaced three times and got a crown last week,so pricey.I just remembered last time we were in Rome he broke his tooth on a sandwich at the train station! 
I forgot to say when I was in San Francisco I found a gold sequin top at Bloomingdale’s on sale for $50 for the formal wedding and have got some wide leg black pants to wear with it,Bloomingdale’s is closing there soon so a few bargains,I’ll take the outfit on the cruise as well

Hello everyone.I arrived back from San Francisco this morning.

I finally tried Noosa yogurt ,it was only on the shelf in Vanilla but was very nice.

I was hoping to shop in San Francisco for my Europe trip but it is so sad, so many shops have closed or are closing .The Westgate Mall downtown is closing at the end of August ,apparently there is too much crime.Sad that such a wonderful city has changed so much.

We went over to Sausalito and it felt much safer ,although very chilly on the ferry!

I did try my new bag and it worked very well .

Just enjoy your cruise ! 

If you have had covid in the last three months you should be fine I hear.

I know what you mean about coughing nowadays ,you feel like you have to explain yourself.

My husband and I wore masks mostly last year but it did create a barrier and its the first cruise where we didn't really make friends ,although it was nice.
