Don't suddenly disappear on us again Bob. I hope all's been well with Elaine and yourself.
Avril
Hi Avril
Elaine has a few health issues, and the hospital Doncaster and Sheffield hospital seem to be opening up to appointment's again.
But part from that we are doing ok thank you, hope you and Frank are ok.          Looking forward to when we can all go cruising again, it's always been Elaine's thing and I tagged along, but I have to say I am really missing it.

In terms of a full refund for a cruise, the worst that have seen so far is 137 days.. for sundries there are lots still waiting for this period and longer.
Our Friends have been waiting for a refund 130 days and still waiting for a P and O CRUISE, but ( TA Eskimo ) you know who they are, just keep ignoring people.  Â
If it was the other way around, they would soon won't our money or it would be a cancelled cruise.

You must post a video on you tube showing us how you do it, I have worn a mask several times and my glasses always steam up, whatever the temperature.
Try This on your glasses
One blob of Washing Up Liquid on each glass, clean off with a soft cloth / glass cloth.  Put your mask on then your glasses will steam to begin with, after that it should be fine.
Only works with Washing Up Liquid.

Heard a rumour locally that P&O are not expecting to sail 'properly' until April...Â
Although probably only speculation, it did come from someone connected to Carnival.Â
Indias issues won't help.Â

I also heard this, and Ventura been sold off next year. Anyone else heard this.

Love to meet up in October Bob. I shall miss going this year though, but I hope something changes before next year and cruising back on the agenda. I don't think we'll be going away this year as we would have to travel by coach or train. We've decided to spoil the house instead and have ordered two new oriental rugs. A large square for the lounge and a runner for the hall. It's my turn next đ. Enjoy your weekend, the weather looks promising. đ

Enjoy spoiling the house, have a good weekend

Still haven't heard anything from P&O yet and so we've made the decision to not cruise again until October 2021. I thought I'd be upset but quite honestly I feel relieved. No more worrying "shall we, shan't we" or constantly checking emails. Blessed relief.Â
AvrilÂ
Hi Avril
Sorry we won't be meeting up in November, maybe in October 21 on your next cruise. Shocking they haven't got back to you, think they only sorted me out because I was recording them.
We have also decided today not to cruise this year, we was humming and haring about it, and thinking about the port's we was going to, would they be changed etc.Â
Hopefully next year there will be a vaccine, and things getting back to normal.
I know they are slowly getting there now, but still not good enough for us. So Devon here we come, which we have done for the past thirty years.
Have a good weekend

Can I suggest that people go onto the BBC iplayer and look for "A Wild Year", narrated by Toby Jones. Only three programmes - Pembrokshire, the Fens, and Yorkshire. Great photography, and more importantly, why am l paying thousands of pounds to visit somewhere that is not nearly as beautiful as the UK?
Also wowzz
There's a nice little book called The Pembrokeshire Coast, it's from the National Trust. Lots of info, and great photography.

Thanks Harry for the update.
I totally agree Travel Insurance, Medical Bills etc are going to be a lot more expensive.Â

Thanks Bob. I'll give them a ring first thing. No idea how to record the conversation though đŻ. We really are still holding out for Arcadia and if they'll let us pay the balance at a later date we'll be able to see how things progress with Covid and cruising. Thanks again for the heads up and we hope to see you both in November đ

Hi Avril
I put a recorder app on my mobile.
Looking forward to seeing you both, I really hope they decide to sail.

Itâll be a long time yet the way things are shaping with you guys canât take the chance of letting it back over here after 7 weeks clear. I think the first lifting of the border control will be to let residents across to UK but they will have to self isolate for 14 days when they return here them there were a few more steps after that before fully opening
That's what I thought, I keep looking. You live in a beautiful place, enjoyed all our holiday's there.

Itâs a bit late for him to be worrying about confidentiality nowÂ
Never mind cruising, I am looking forward to going to the Isle of Man. Just waiting to see when it's possible to cross, until then it looks like Devon.
Â
But yes P and O did tell me that yesterday, and I made sure I recorded it. Which I seem to do with lot's of things just lately.

Kind Regards

Why haven't you replied Bob??
He's very reliable, it's unlike him.
I've been wondering if he's been in touch with P&O and has been offered this deal but has to keep it confidential, the same as some deals were done during the refund fiasco. It just seems odd that it's not being offered for earlier cruises either.
AvrilÂ
HaHa Avril
I am sorry for the late reply, I love to read what you are all doing, but not great at writing in.

Great news bob. We'd decided to let August 8th pass and not pay the balance. Do we have to contact P&O or will the balance date be automatically moved for us?
AvrilÂ
Hi Avril
I rang yesterday, because I wasn't willing to pay in August. I did record our conversation, and told them I was recording it. On their phone message it's saying they are letting you pay later. Try the free phone number and listen to the recording.
If I was you I would give them a ring, early morning seems to be the best to get hold of them.
Both take care

Our 13 month old great grandson was just admitted into hospital. He has a high temperature and difficulty with breathing. He's had a covid test done and is on oxygen. His mum says he's sleepy but cheerful so fingers crossed.Â

So sorry to hear that Avril, hope he gets better soon. Virtual hugs coming your way

It's not just P and O, our friends have been waiting 95 days with Iglu and Princess Cruises, and still no luck today when ringing them.Â
P and O and they got there refund in 45 days.Â
Travel Industry in a right mess at the moment, but I hope you all get your refunds soon.Â

Great news you got your refund. FYI only changed our cruise last week, so depending on when you last enquired things may have changed. We really couldnât contemplate going away in January with the possibility of not having insurance to cover for Covid-19 and, if they donât have a vaccine we can still cancel it next year and only lose ÂŁ100 deposit.
Susan
Hi Susan
Let's hope things will be different next year, but same has you we would cancel.
We have never been to the Caribbean, thought we would give it a go.
Rang P and O today, totally different experience to last week, so all booked now for January 2022.Â

Once booked with a TA, never again. Since then I have always book direct, so far been ok, until last week when I tried to book for the Caribbean 2022.
But rang this afternoon totally different experience, so all booked now for the Caribbean January 2022. đ

Hi - I was booked on an Azura Caribbean cruise in January 2021 but we made the decision to change the cruise until the following January (2022), just transferring our deposit. We didnât have a problem changing - all done by my travel agent but everything is sorted, with a better choice of allocated cabin. We have had to pay a couple of hundred pounds more and I didnât get the same OBC I got when booking on our last cruise, but still a decent amount (ÂŁ460). Did you try P&O direct or go through your TA?
Susan
Hi Susan
I always book through P and O, generally get a better deal. Going to give it another go this week, and see what happens.
Maybe fed up with me asking for our refund, for March and June Cruises. Which I am happy to say they are back on my card today.
