  1. :) We are in a Haven this August - leaving on the 21st, when can I book restaurant and entertainment? Have PIF, also I understand that I will be receiving an email from concierge ? When can I expect that ? Sorry I am just a planner and want to have all my ducks in a row so I can RELAX and enjoy my vaca!

  2. We are also sailing in August in Haven (my husband and myself) I am sad that the roof may not open .. was looking forward to that BUT there is the open air area. I am sailing on the 21st who else? would love to meet people prior to sailing .. I have also joined the roll call

  3. Again, I NEVER asked for your ideas/opinions.......

my post was about parking costs in NY...not what you prefer for cruising or what you consider cruises being tropical..

Well said David5272 AND for mattj2000 NCL goes to Bermuda ALSO NOT just the ones here - Given that I am going in AUGUST to Bermuda on the Breakaway I believe a bit more research on your part especially given you have been here for a long time :D

"I would not want go out of NY for 2 reasons.

The ports stops are some of the worst, Canaveral, Nassau, Freeport, CocoCay. unless on longer voyages.

I associate cruises as a warm weather/tropical thing.

    Not NY city.

Especially in the winter time when you have 2 days of freezing weather on the front & back ends of the trip.

If I am going to fly for a cruise, I will fly to FL where it is much warmer."

  4. Great review! My husband and I are sailing on the Breakaway this August, Its funny that you talked about your reasons for going Haven as those were all of mine too ( I have sailed on the Dawn before , but this will be my husbands first time sailing NCL) and just this week I was talking to him about the Haven, and I JUST (literally)upgraded to a Haven Spa for the trip. We have sailed with the mouse but had a regular balcony room, this is going to be a TREAT going in the haven! :)

  5. Hi seadog67 We were in Bermuda on the dawn a week ago! If you need a "tour" of the island on a rainy day I recomend going to the taxi stand on the roundabout to the Left of the shop.. there will be a few men standing there looking to give tours. I WISH i could remember the gentlemans name that took us around but he was tall and skinny .. has a van that is silver or white.. He took us around for 3 hrs fr $50 each .. took us to the caves at the Grotto Bay (for free) and we went in .. Loving this review! I wish we had been able to go to the beaches but the weather was rough for swimming, only did the snorkle tours , Rising SonII and the catamaran snorkle = both were AWESOME! I think the next trip will be on the Breakaway because I hated getting to Bermuda on a Sunday .

  6. I got off the Dawn on the 28th and what disgusts me is seeing the people that come into the restaurant WITHOUT doing either the washy washy or the containers at the entrances .. just completely amazing! But I guess thats cruise life.. gotta take the bad with the good and stay away from the bad!!

  7. :) I have cruised on Disney WITHOUT kids and it was fabulous .. Went in

December with my cousin and her daughter.

Until next month I will not have a cruise experience to compare it to.

There are many adult areas on the Disney ships, adult bars, lounges, pools etc. 18 and older can go into those areas. There were characters on board but they weren't "in your face" and very easy to miss them if you wanted!

The cost is more now and that is too bad, but i am looking forward to our next Disney cruise on the Fantasy and this time with the family in January.

I am also looking forward to the comparison on NCL next month .. I know the service will not be the same, I for one LOVED having the same waiters the whole trip!! :) but it will be interesting as I am going with 2 people that have never cruised!
