  1. When you're on the pier, you'll be helped down into the boat. There's a step down into the seating area, so that part is probably ok. But when you get to the beach, the boat will be rocking slightly and you'll probably use their step ladder on the side to step down into ankle deep water. It's really not ideal to be honest, as you're walking down a few steps facing backwards into the water. I think this might be tricky for her unless someone can carry her off.

Thank you so much for your honest answer. I don't even think we will attempt it.

  2. If you take the water taxi in Cabo, it'll stop close to a few rock formations. We saw a few kids jump off some of the larger rocks. Definitely not on the same scale as Acapulco, but you don't have to go out of your way to see them. It's worthwhile taking that water taxi tour and a video camera out on the boat. You see a lot

My sister is handicapped and uses a walker....do you think she will have a problem getting into the water-taxi's?

  3. We have sailed on both ships multiple times. (It has just seemed to work out that way). The previous replies have summed it up pretty well. It really depends on what you NEED in your ship. The waterworks and sports square of the Magic are great if you are traveling with kids. Although the Freedom has the Seuss at Sea and the Camp Ocean for the kids. Both have a Red Frog pub but only the Magic's RFP offers the pub food. Freedom has an Alchemy bar... not so much on the Magic.

So bottom line is it really depends on what features you MUST have on your cruise ship. Both ships are great but certain features may push you over to one or the other.

Once the Magic gets her dry dock and get the couple of features she is missing added, then it's going to be no contest. But until then you are probably going to be fine with either unless you have kids that will want to use water works.

Do you what additions the Magic will be getting and when?

  4. But you know they are in Galveston, right? I guess just flying in to Houston then transfer to Galveston...

Never mind - just re-read the 1st post. My bad.

Yes.....It's really easy cruising from Galveston. Whether we fly into Bush International or Hobby. Coming from Bush Int. then we take a limo and hire an extra van to carry all the luggage. Most of the time we fly into Hobby and stay at a friends hotel, they pick us up, we stay a couple of nights then they drive us to the ship. We love cruising from Galveston.

  5. We haven't been on the Freedom but have been on the Magic 3 times and love her! I would go with the Magic. She doesn't have the 2.0 upgrades yet but she is still one of the newest ships. Have fun!

Do you know when the Magic will get the 2.0 upgrades and what they will be?

  6. OK people!! This is what I need some help with. We are looking at cruising the 1st week of January, from Galveston, either on the Magic or the Freedom. I need opinions as to which ship would be better. The family ages range between 19 and 60.

    Bring on the suggestions (thanks)

  7. We are heading to the Mexican Riviera in October. Is there any secrets and/or things to do that should not be missed? Any and all feedback is most appreciated.

You'll be sailing before us....hopefully you'll find some new secrets and/or things to do on your cruise and will report back. :)

  9. How many Dining Rooms does the Miracle Have? I can see the Bacchus Dining Room and the Horatio's Lido Restaurant, which looks like it is the Buffet. Is this correct? There is also Nick & Nora's Steakhouse....which I would guess there is an additional charge for them. Is that correct?
