Our luggage tags were on the last pages of the boarding passes etc.

Yes, that is what we have experienced on our previous MSC cruises. The final documents, including boarding passes, still come up as an error. The website is just not working for this cruise. But not a problem as we do have our boarding passes on our phones.

Our last day to prep for our cruise nest week. We are hoping to get an early start tomorrow. Still need to pack. Changed the oil yesterday and need to cut the grass. Upper 80's today for the forecast.

Thanks.  I agree that the YC restaurant being outside of the YC is not a big issue, but good to know going forward to make a decision.

I'm making lots of notes.....thanks everyone for all the details 🙂

I have to add that we enjoyed the MSC Splendida so much, we had booked a nine-night cruise on it for this Fall and also the 22-Night Grand Voyage on the MSC Divina to sail home. Unfortunately MSC made the decision to have the Divina remain in Europe and cancelled the Grand Voyage. With that, we needed to cancel both cruises and on to Plan B.

  4. We have sailed on the MSC Splendida (sister ship to MSC Divina) in YC in Italy. The Top Sail Lounge was very nice due to the YC with it's smaller capacity of only two decks with staterooms. Having the restaurant in the rear of the ship was actually nice as we could walk around the ship after eating. This weekend we sail on the MSC Seashore in YC so we'll be in a position to compare.

Just noticed that, in my haste to take the trash and recycling out, I skipped taking my blood-pressure medicine. I'm not awake enough in the morning to remember whether I took it or not, but I turn the bottles on their sides in the evening and turn them upright when I've taken it.

I use two pill cases and set alarms on my phone for morning and evening. That is a good idea turning them on their side.

We have been to Kahului by bus when the Eurodam called on Lahaina in 2018. The problem was it was Thanksgiving Day and everything was closed. The only store open in the Queen Ka'ahumanu Center mall was the Starbucks! At least it was a picturesque bus ride.

I need to call our MSC Concierge today. Even though Sue and I have done our check in, I cannot print our documents with baggage tags. We have the Boarding Pass on our phones so we won't be left behind! I'm sure just a slight snag.

One week until we leave for our MSC cruise from Port Canaveral! It is the first time that we are driving to Florida to cruise. I am anxious to try my new Subaru on a long distance drive.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thank you . We will run it past the kids and grandsons . One great thing for our son , DIL and 3rd grandson is that 2 of them are native Spanish speakers and our Son is fluent . DIL is from Peru . We speak survival Spanish and Russian . Were you in the Navy ? I was  a Corpsman in the early 70's . HAL gives a $ 100 credit but when we went to Antarctica on NCL this year they gave a 10 % price reduction on our Suite which is HUGE .

We had a great time with Mega Adventures. I was in the Coast Guard late '60's to early '70's and was an Engineman. We have been sailing on MSC and they also offer 5%+5% discounts. Their Yacht Club is great!

My recollection of first watching the "Doctor Who" series was Jon Pertwee. The local PBS station had bought the rights and it was on TV late Sunday evening. But my favorite (like many) was Tom Baker playing the fourth Doctor. "Yes, I'll have a jelly baby!"

@Heartgrove  Jack, I hope more cruise lines follow MSC and provide better tours for those in non-folding scooter

Yes, I was very pleased to see that they are providing assisted excursions. MSC is also very reasonable with what they charge for excursions. I say this after booking excursions on HAL yesterday for our Fall Transatlantic! We have been extremely pleased with excursions through MSC.

Just looked at the Port Canaveral webcam and in view is the MSC Seashore. We are excited as we board in two weeks for a week long cruise. Last week we booked two excursions for our port calls at Montego Bay and Georgetown. In looking at the excursions that are available,  MSC is the first cruise line I have seen that has non-folding scooter-specific excursions listed for Georgetown and Cozumel! It mentions passengers will ride in an accessible van. Prices are the same as the regular excursion offered as well.

  12. We have sailed on the MSC Splendida in YC and MSC Preziosa in Fantastica. Both of these cruises have been in Europe. Of course nothing beats YC but we were pleasantly surprised with sailing in Fantastica on the Preziosa. It does depend on which sailing you are on but I don't think that I would spend the extra money for Aurea sailing in Europe.

Next up for us in the MSC Seashore in YC. We like the Fantasia-class YC so we are curious to see if we will like one of the larger ship's YC.

  13. Another pair of votes for Barcelona and Genoa. I actually prefer Genoa for embarkation as it is such a nice city to explore, and the sail away has such a nice backdrop of the city. But you need to either take the train there or a second flight. Barcelona has very nice port facilities and plenty to see pre-cruise. It is very crowded and notorious for pickpockets. We have both embarked there and had a port call.

I would not recommend Civitavecchia. We nave both embarked there and been there on a port call twice.
