  1. I’m really appreciating all the feedback, so thank you everyone.

So is Celebrity a cruise line that really caters to suite guests or at least this ship or are regular stateroom guests able to purchase access to the spa area, some of the restaurants and other stuff?

Just curious about how you "barely went on" a cruise. Did you almost not make it? Or was it a 3-night? I've just never heard that phrase in relation to a cruise.

Sorry, when I say barely, I mean recently. Must be more of a phrase we used growing up instead of one other people use.

  3. Hi, my wife and I are both 33. We have cruises Carnival, Royal and Disney. We just barely went on Disney last month for the first time and we aren’t sure we can go back to more entry-level cruise lines like carnival, RC, and NCL. Is Celebrity a cruise line a couple in their 30’s would enjoy? We enjoy food, main entertainment, spa passes, and trivia. We aren’t drinkers or party seekers but do enjoy having things to do. Any thoughts or opinions? We are currently looking at a Christmas cruise on the Constellation. Thanks!

  4. It has been almost 7 year since I was last in Mazatlan I believe. Is there anything new to do or see? Last time I was there we followed the blue line to see the mercado and the cathedral. We then went to Stone Island and spent some time at Lety's. Is Lety's still open. Would anyone recommend anything else in Mazatlan or eating anywhere else?

    Thanks for the advice!

They don't have protein powders. I'm not sure I'd recommend Cheers to someone who doesn't drink alcohol but it's your money. Cheers really is an alcohol program, it's really hard to "make the most of it" without that. It's like trying to make the most of Arby's if you don't eat meat.

mz-s, we were going to get bottomless bubbles but I received a "cheers to you" booking offer that was about $20 more for both of us combined than if we got bottomless bubbles with a different booking offer. We both love our virgin pina coladas and I love smoothies and milkshakes, so we thought it was worth the extra $20 since we would have gotten a few things on top of bottomless bubbles. I appreciate you trying to save us some money! As for the protein, I think I saw they had muscle milk pre-made shakes, so I was checking on that and I didn't know if their smoothies were like Jamba or not and if they added power shots like Jamba does. Thanks for the response!

  6. Hey All,

I know this has been asked before, but with all the changes, I wanted to make sure I had the most accurate information. We will be sailing on the Panorama out of Long Beach on February 25th and were able to book with the Cheers to you promotion. Neither of us drink alcohol. Are milkshakes and smoothies still included? I think I saw there are protein shakes on the ship, but they aren't included with Cheers. Is that correct? Are you able to add protein to smoothies on the ship like you can at Jamba Juice or other smoothie shops? Any other pointers to make the most out of the package when we don't drink alcohol or any drinks not to miss? I know the Havana orange juice is not included. And since we have already paid, there are not other gratuities or fees we have to pay, correct? Thanks for all the help! People on these boards are usually pretty awesome!

  7. We will be going to Boston for the 1st time will only be there from 7-3. I think we want to do the freedom trail and if possible do a Fenway park tour. I think we would have like going to and on the USS Constituton but I believe the ship is closed on Mondays. Would we be able to do the freedom trail with a tour at Old State house and a stop to eat as well as going over to little Italy and doing a tour at Fenway or is that just too packed? Thanks!

  8. Just started looking at NE/CA cruises and am trying to decide if I should spend the extra time to see both Portland and Bar Harbor. Also trying to figure out if the price to see PEI would be worth it also and what it has to offer compared to other ports. Any help would be great. Considering a 7 day and a 9 day. 9 day includes Bar harbor. There is a 10 day that has PEI but it costs over $300 more than the 9 day. Thanks for your help!

  9. This will be our first time cruising from Miami and we are just trying to figure out what to do before our flight instead of just hanging out at the airport and what we should do with our luggage? We are cruising with carnival and I see they have a Miami tour and an Everglades tour that then drops you off at the airport but I’m not sure if that is all worth it? What are your thoughts and recommendations? Thank you in advance!

  10. I just received my confirmation that we will be receiving $27.49 obc pp. The explanation we got was that they deducted $20 pp for access to the eco park that is exclusive to their excursion. I felt satisfied with this as I also like the guarantee of knowing the ship will wait for us if anything were to happen. Felt it was a win win. Thank you everyone for your help and providing the link to the other excursion!

  11. I say go with 1 day in 3 different ports. Each port has something different to offer. Honestly Cabo was probably our least favorite. In Mazatlan you can see the Mercado and the cathedral and then go to Stone Island. We loved stone island and thought it was a great beach break and it was cool to see a more authentic Mexico by going into town at Mazatlan before.

  12. I’m just wondering which beach area everyone prefers to go to and which beach seems nicer. I know west bay is considered one of the best beaches in the Caribbean but I hear awesome things about little French key. Also want to know because this we decide whether we go to Daniel Johnson’s or Victor Bodden for monkeys and sloths. Thank you so much!!

  13. Splash wave tours was who did ours. It was a great deal of fun. It seemed that not many tours for the other snorkeling offered had the required number of people signed up so they were instead put in our group. Which was probably a good thing or we wouldn't have had enough people either. We had a small boat of people, maybe 20? And that was with the mixed groups.

  14. So I am having a hard time deciding what to do in Belize. We really want to see ruins but we don't want to do the big trips in Cozumel. I also don't want to miss snorkeling in Belize because of the reef and I think seeing the rays and sharks would be cool. I'm just wondering if we would miss much if we did the ruins instead since we will be doing sting ray city and snorkeling in Grand Cayman and we are going to try to get some snorkeling at west bay in Roatan. Any opinions would be appreciated thank you!

  15. Hope you enjoy your day!

We are of an age that we mainly like to relax and there are many beach options on Cozumel, busy and lively, quiet and remote! Nachi nearly always gets good reviews but strangely it is one beach bar we have never quite made it to yet - always on our "to-do" list, but it is a serious contender for my January visit!

Well I'm just one of those people that gets super excited and ahead of himself and plans everything really early so you will be there before me. If you check out nachi, you will have to do a review. I think you and crewsweeper are the two posters I get the most from. Thanks again for all your help!

  16. I am sorry if I came over a little negative.

The first couple of times we went to Cozumel (many many years ago) we docked in town and only stayed in town, to keep costs down. I hated San Miguel, walking down the Main Street and being bombarded by aggressive vendors trying to get us in one shop after another and was nearly turned off Cozumel for life. Fortunately we took a tour with ToursPlaza and discovered life outside main drag and have returned for many cruise ship days and several lengthy land visits where we have stayed both in town and at resorts.

Now we prefer to stay in San Miguel to the AI resorts because we enjoy the atmosphere of the local bars and restaurants but it would not be the highlight of a cruise ship day for me where food and drink are provided. I know now to walk a street or two back from the Main Street. I am not big on shopping and I think you are right, if you are only after souvenirs you will do just as well at the piers, maybe a little higher but nothing compared to $8 each way in taxi and the difference in using US$ to pesos.

It can be interesting to walk around and grab a drink in San Miguel and explore around the square but not worth it enough to me to warrant the extra taxi fare when I had paid for AI somewhere, unless as I said you have read about something particular you want to see.

Of course I look at it knowing I will return another day another time, if you think this may be your one and only trip to Cozumel you will look at it differently. I haven't been on a ship that stays late, but my choice in that case would be sunset dinner at Money Bar (no pool, no real beach, but decent snorkeling) after a few hours at a PAYG beach. All in the same area and minimizing taxi fares.

As you can see on the link I included previously, the main square at San Gervasio is small - the ruins themselves are small, in height and sq ft - they are interesting but nothing like the mainland ruins. I don't know what other stops you have but maybe you could do ruins there, or as you say save them for a mainland trip.

C-leg you didn't come off negative at all. Just stating facts which I appreciate. I wanted someone to tell me exactly how it is so I wouldn't be disappointed and that's what you did for me. For all the trouble it would take to get to either place I think I would be disappointed and would just enjoy a nice relaxing day at nachi. We want one low key day and this seems like the best day to do so especially from all the positive reviews about nachi and the peace and quiet it offers with a nice beach. Thank you so much for your honest opinion. I know we will be back to Cozumel on future cruises so I'm not stressed about getting everything in like you said. Cozumel just seems like one of those places to enjoy a beach and do your own thing and I think that's what we will do, especially since we will want to be away from crowds. Anyways thanks again!

  17. I was curious about San Gervasio because we have never seen ruins before and we don't want to go to the mainland because we hope to do a land trip to the riveria Maya someday and see all the ruins in the area

  18. Thank you c-leg. It's good to know there isn't a whole lot in San Miguel so I'm thinking we won't go there then. I heard San Gervasio was small so maybe I was thinking it would take even less time. We want to do nachi because of the adult only limited entrance part of it. I was curious about San Miguel just because I don't want to miss anything that is a must do and I just want to find the best priced place for souvenir but it would probably be cheaper at port just because of taxi fare. Thanks again!
