Sorry I should have said where is she going but was too late to edit. Sorry Venus.

Just spotted Venus is off the west coast of Scotland today near the Inner Hebrides. Where is it going? Scotland isn’t allowing cruise ships at present.
-
Thanks I knew it should be obvious but I couldn’t work it out.

What is a TAR port please?

We’ve been looking at the Venus webcam which updates every 10 minutes and have seen one or two coaches approaching the ship and even some people in red tops that could be Viking crew. Looks like the restart is happening!

Yes it is the same on the UK website.

The July 21 tab on Find a cruise has been greyed out and the only cruise showing for June 21 is England’s scenic shores. Looks like more cancellations about to be announced or modified. This will be our second year of Midnight Sun being cancelled.

I can't answer your question - but remain amazed that such a small place as the Scilly Islands would be welcoming(?) a cruise ship at this point.
Tresco is now shown as the included tour on the Isles of Scilly.

Viking still says 4 guided tours for this cruise. Perhaps the 450 guests are asked to chose one of the 5 excursions advertised to get an average 90 guests on each tour. Pure speculation on my part. Incidentally we have been to all the stops and it is a great itinerary.

Got quote wrong, sorry. We expressed interest to find out more even though our preference was passengers and crew all vaccinated. We also have plans for large family holiday over the period which is likely to be cancelled as there are 20 of us but this is still ‘live’. We also have B2B Midnight Sun & British Isles this June so they have put us in an interest shown folder which we can activate if things change.

Ah, I wondered why we'd not heard from them, as we've done a few Viking cruises. It must be because I've not expressed interest, in fact in the survey that I presume all Brits received I confirmed that I would only cruise once all passengers AND crew had been vaccinated. I will no doubt be very envious when reports of the 3 Coastal cruises appear! If they happen...

Any news on what numbers of cabins they had left? Still waiting for my call from them?
We had a call the day after expressing interest. Have you done that?

Perhaps what we see as indecisiveness is actually deliberation and refusal to be rushed into a decision just to appease public opinion.
Well said Peregrina, too many things are rushed without considering all the facts and implications. Gathering information is not indecisiveness.

Sorry it was many years ago when we went and it may well have changed. It was OK then!

Dublin is very easy to do on the open top bus, hop on hop off.

In UK vaccines are given based on age and underlying health, now working on vaccinating all over 50 by mid April. Not sure how crew would get vaccinated as they are too young!
-
Viking Sea appears to have come from Bodrum to Limassol. Any ideas why?
-
All OK with us here in the UK getting on the site and MVJ.
-
I would hope Viking gets us to sign that we agree to the testing and safety measures before allowing us to board.
-
Sorry to disagree with Millybess but we found the gold room was not a good one to select. The Russian guide had to be translated by the Viking guide and gave endless detail about the tiniest of objects. It didn’t help that the rooms were airless and stuffy and standing still for long periods of time is not for me. I had mistakenly thought the amber room as pictured in the Viking brochure was what I was booking, but I now know that is not even at the Hermitage! Perhaps I’m not into too much detail but we’d have been better doing the basic tour which moved more quickly.

We booked all our excursions when invited last July for ‘Into the Midnight Sun’ and had fun pretending. Now rescheduled to June 2021 and keeping fingers crossed. We’ve had our first vaccine, but everything depends on so many things beyond our control.

MVJ getting updated for us here in UK and only one of our 3 cruises showing. The other two were on the old version but had disappeared, so we just reinstalled them using booking reference number and all three there now. I may take a while to familiarise with the new version. Password also had to be strengthened.
-
We are from the UK and have 2 cruises booked which start and/or finish in either Tilbury or Greenwich. We fly to or from Heathrow to Manchester airport and transfers are included. As you mentioned getting to Heathrow I would have thought you would have got an included transfer unless you are staying a day or two independently before flying home.
-
I would be surprised too if it was a tender as the cruise terminal has a proper docking area. It does only have room for one ship however, so perhaps another ship has ‘bagged the berth’. Our British Isles Explorer in June is not showing it as a tender.

J an D, thanks for the reply. I didn’t spot there was a different one, I thought they were all England’s Scenic shores. This one appears to be Scenic British Isles. Was it because one or more of the ports couldn’t accommodate them or just to offer an alternative? Perhaps someone might have done a B2B just to celebrate being back on board!
I hope all on board are enjoying the cruise.
