Start with your interests. At 3, if you include your children, you'll be very limited in choices. You might need to consider babysitting, which is also spendy.

A bit off subject, I found the old internet too slow to be useful as about 5 minutes were used just trying to log in each time. How fast is the new internet?
Speedtest screenshots others have posted has shown it around 13.5Mbps down and 6.5 up.

Having to board metal shipping tubes with wings to get there and back. I just detest airline travel anymore.

The app Shipmate has most deck plans.

Certainly a reasonable complaint.
Personally I would find fault with the TA more than Celebrity. Isn't that one of the reasons to book with a TA? Obviously your friend directed her mistrust at Celebrity, but I would have directed mine at the TA.
I may be wrong, but I would think a more experienced TA who does a lot of business with Celebrity would have been able to get you whatever you needed.
Hopefully you will still be able to enjoy your cruise unless you have also decided to cancel.
Completely agree. The travel agent sells nothing but service. They are the middle man between you and the cruise line and are supposed to work on your behalf. Too many want to just be ticket writers and think their job is done and won't go to bat for you. Some are awesome. Go find awesome.

Honest question here - not being mean or snarky.
How does your mother feel about you canceling the trip because of her?
I know my dad has had some health issues the past couple of years, and he has explicitly told my sister and me that he would never want us to cancel long-anticipated plans just to sit by his bed. He would rather we be out living our life. I may be almost 45, but he would kick my butt if I sacrificed something I'd been dreaming about and planning for (and had already paid for!!) just because of him.
All families are different - that's why I asked the question.
I was scared when I got an angiogram, mostly because it was new and unknown. I can understand why she and her mother feel the same anxiety. I had my wife who was there for me and admit it was comforting to know she was there. Still, it was such a non-event that in hindsight, I wouldn't have even had her take the day off work. I'm absolutely the type though that would feel just awful for someone to sacrifice a trip of a lifetime and 8k just to comfort me. WrittenOnYourHeart brings up a good and fair concern. One you might consider Sharing with your Mom. Best of luck on any decisions and hope you come up with a satisfactory conclusion to your dilemma.

It is $199 for a 7-day cruise unless that ship has been, or will be upgraded to Xcelerate. Using Xcelerate a 7-day unlimited Internet is $140.

Is there really any advantage to booking pre-cruise? That sounds like was OP is ready to do and they would almost certainly be able to get discounts onboard.

Looks like free classic drinks and unlimited Xcelerate Internet.

Some of these tours, particularly the Tracy Arm Fjord Explorer, are limited and often sell out pre-cruise so I wouldn't wait too long.

2 for one ends Saturday. As Pete (above) mentioned, it will almost certainly be quickly replace with another deal. Most likely starting Sunday, May 1st.

On the Solstice now, $59/@/day. Unlimited $299. With out elite discount it is $208 but only one device at a time. We also still have 90 min from the other elite coupon so we can activate it for sea days if we both want to brouse for a while.
Not too slow and they said will upgrade to faster speed in a month .
This is old Internet pricing, not Xcelerate and is for longer cruises. 7 day on this plan is $199 but on Xcelerate it is $140. Based on earlier post, it sounds like Solstice is getting upgraded May 6-7.

$40 a day and if you want only limited amounts, $.99 per minute

I'm loving it. Better speeds at lower prices. What good was a 50 minute plan that took 40 minutes to load anyway. I can understand how some may not see it that way, but it's a huge win for me.

All of the other excursions are out of Juneau. You will go from Tracy Arm to Juneau on a small tour boat, which you board just like you would if we tender, getting closeup looks at the glaciers and wildlife. This can only be done from Celebrity. There is an equivalent but much longer one offered from Juneau that goes out and back, but time could be a factor.

I'll be on the May 6th Solstice sailing so I called to ask about Xcellerate. The customer service rep told me that it's listed that the Solstice will have Xcellerate on May 7. Even the CS rep said that didn't make sense and most likely it will be ready on the sailing date May 6.
I think the 7th might make sense. Say the install team gets on with you on the 6th and they need a day for the upgrade? Anyway, I'm on the 13th right after you, thanks for calling.

Most companies do not release details of future promotions because it can affect current bookings. Celebrity is no different, they rarely let us know about future promotions.

I could cruise without drinking, but I rarely do. My goal is not to cruise as cheaply as possible but to maximize my enjoyment. I don't drink crazy, I don't fill ports with double excursions, I don't eat like a glutton. I do what I want at the pace that is comfortable for me. So long as you enjoy your time and find it rewarding, well awesome for you. That's what cruising is for me.

We went to Alaska from Florida. And couldn't stay up after dinner! (Time change too extreme).
That's a long cruise. :D
What are the best excisions in Juneau for families?
in Alaska

Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those no children on cruise types. It limits you because some tours, like Harv and Marv's whale watching require children to be 13.
